AMATEUR CERTIFICATION See GR 1307. GENERAL INFORMATION THIS BOOK IS REQUIRED READING FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS. Use this premium book as a guide for this show. For any clarifications or questions regarding rules consult the current USEF Rule Book and/or the AHA Handbook. RULES: This horse show is conducted in accordance with the rules of the USEF Rule XVI- -Arabian Horse Division. The official rulebook of the USEF and the AHA handbook will prevail for the show. This prize list is based on the rules of the current USEF rulebook and the AHA Handbook: any changes or corrections of rules will automatically become a part of this prize list. Each participant in the show is responsible for knowledge of and is subject to the USEF and AHA Rules. EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT FEDERATION RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. AHA JUDGES COMMISSIONER: The Judges and Stewards Commissioner is responsible for handling written and signed complaints relating to judges and stewards conduct when filed by exhibitors, show officials, AHA members or others, and when accompanied by a ten-dollar ($10.00) filing fee [Resolution 5-90]. CANCELLATION OR SUBSTITUTION OF ENTRIES: To encourage early entries, the management agrees to cancel and refund all fees for any horse not fit to show provided written notice is given to the Show Secretary on or before the close of entries. After the closing date, a partial refund of entry fees and/or stall fees are subject to Management s decision and may be considered for any horse suffering from illness or injury upon the presentation to the Show Secretary PRIOR to the start of the show, by a written request for a refund from the exhibitor and a veterinarian s certificate. No refunds will be considered for requests received after the start of the show. No substitution of horses will be permitted except as provided in USEF Gr.911 CLASS CALLS: Due to unforeseeable problems with any mechanical device, the public address system must be considered a courtesy. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate at the prescribed time. Every effort will be made to maintain a working public address system to carry class calls. Page 9 LEVELING: Select Amateur Has not received one of the following: a. Both arenas have sand and loam footing. CRUELTY Cruelty to or the abuse of a horse by any person at a recognized show is forbidden. Excessive use of a whip on any horse in a stall, runway, schooling area, show ring, or elsewhere on the show grounds before or during a show, by any person, constitutes a violation and renders the offender subject to penalty. (See GR839). DIRECTIONS TO FAIRGROUNDS: Take Highway 101 to Santa Rosa, Exit onto Highway 12, Eastbound, towards Sonoma, Exit Highway 12 at the Downtown exit. Upon reaching surface street, Bennett Valley Road, you will come to a stoplight, and just in front of you on your right will be the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Go past the front entrance to the signal and take Brookwood Avenue to Aston Avenue for horse show entrance. Horse show office is located inside Lyttle Cow Palace. Page 10

DISQUALIFICATION: Refer to USEF GR 117. Any horse doctored in any way, artificially, improperly, or unfairly, prepared or tampered with before entering the show ring will be disqualified if it is ascertained that any exhibitor has made or cause to be made, any false statement in regard to any animal. He or she shall be excluded from competing or exhibiting. In case of any animal being disqualified the winner of the next succeeding prize in the class shall take the prize that has been awarded to such disqualified animal and the lowest monies prize in the class shall go to the reserve number. DRUG/USEF/CA FEE--$21.00: Drug Fee--California State Department of Food and Agriculture supplies technicians for random drug testing as required and administered by USEF, Administration of the Drugs and Medications Program. DOGS: The state humane officer requires all dogs to be leashed AT ALL TIMES. This rule will be strictly enforced. Owner assumes all liability for pet animals. DRUGS & MEDICATIONS: Horses at recognized competitions are subject to examination, which may include, physical, saliva, urine or blood tests or any other test or procedure at the discretion of said licensed tester. The exhibitor is to advise the Show Steward (in writing) of all drugs administered within one hour after administration or within one hour after the Show Steward returns to duty if administration is at a time other than during competition hours. The official USEF Drugs and Medication Report Form is only available from the Show Steward. IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS: Every horse entered in the show will be assigned an identification number. It is important for the proper handling of the show that riders and handlers in all classes wear correct number. FIRE REGULATIONS PROHIBIT PARKING BETWEEN THE BARNS: As soon as you unload your horse, please move your vehicle to a designated parking area. It is imperative that the areas around the barns remain open for access. Parking in the barn area is prohibited. Vehicles in no parking areas will be towed at the owners expense. FIRST AID: There will be an EMT on the grounds during show hours. FEED/STRAW: Feed and additional straw are available from Western Farm Center, 21 West Seventh St., Santa Rosa 707-545-0721. Advance orders will be delivered to the grounds on Wednesday to assigned stalls free of charge. USE OF SHAVINGS WILL BE CHARGED AT $50 PER STALL. HOOF INSPECTION: All horses entered in this show are subject to hoof inspection by the appropriate show officials in the presence of the trainer at the discretion of the show management. All horses shown at this show are subject to AR103 Shoeing Regulations. All horses competing in the Arabian, Half-Arabian, and Anglo-Arabian Hunter, Jumper, Dressage, Eventing, Combined Driving, Pleasure (Carriage) Driving, Working Western, and Sport Horse Sections shall be exempt from shoeing regulations. This does not exempt horses that are cross-entered into any other classes from compliance with applicable shoeing requirements while competing in those classes. INSURANCE ADVISORY: Due to the number and quality of horses at this show we urge each exhibitor to verify their liability insurance coverage and their livestock mortality coverage, with their own insurance carrier(s). Be sure your coverage is in effect. The Golden Gate Arabian Horse Association, its members, agents, employees, and volunteers accept no responsibility for losses sustained or caused by any exhibitor. INDEMNITY AND NON-RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSES: All entries are accepted with the understanding that the Golden Gate Arabian Horse Association and the Sonoma County Fair and Exposition will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any exhibitor or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the show committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him, his agents or employees or by an animal owned or exhibited by him and shall indemnify the Golden Gate Arabian Horse Association, Inc. and Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa, CA against any and all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of an entry form to the show secretary shall constitute an acceptance by each person signing same of the provisions set forth therein. POST ENTRY POLICY AND CLOSING DATE: Entries must be postmarked by March 10, 2016. Entries postmarked after March 10, 2016 will be charged an additional post entry fee of $20 per horse, plus $5 per class. Horses entered in a least one class by the close of entries will be charged $5 per class. JUDGES: If for any reason a judge fails to attend this show or perform his duties, the show committee reserves the right to substitute a judge for the one who is officially designated in the prize list. It is a violation of USEF Rules to commit any action or make remarks during the show that are considered offensive and/ or made with the intent to influence or cast aspersions on the judging (see USEF GR1304.13). No one shall approach a judge with regard to a decision or at any time unless he first obtains permission from the show committee or steward who shall arrange an appointment with the judge at a proper time and place. PADDOCK/WARM UP AREA: There shall be no conduct in the paddock area, which disturbs or creates a hazard to horses or handlers/riders. There will be no whips, noisemakers or other equipment device or objects allowed in the paddock area, which may disturb or create a hazard to horses or handlers/riders. Exception: The show whip carried properly by a handler. Spectators in the paddock area are prohibited. NO LOUNGING IN THE PADDOCK/WARM UP RING DURING SHOW HOURS. PRIZE MONEY/AWARDS: Prize money will be mailed with 30 days of the show. Regular and Championship classes, Award, ribbons 1 st to 6 th. Junior Classes, Award, ribbons 1 st to 8 th Designated buckle classes require a minimum of 3 entries to award buckle. Non awarded buckles will be available for purchase in the show office for $125.Prize money class payouts will be upon completion of the class and available in the show office. Page 11 PAGE 12

LOCATION OF CLASSES: Management reserves the right to change the arena location of classes with the proper notification to exhibitors concerned. MINORS WHO DO NOT HAVE A VALID DRIVER S LICENSE which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. PROTESTS: Should any question or disputes arise, it must be protested in the manner proscribed by the USEF GR603. REGISTRATION PAPERS: INCLUDE PHOTOCOPIES OF REGISTRATION PAPERS OF EACH HORSE ENTERED. Some registration papers are printed back and front include both sides if your horse s papers are two-sided. Copies will not be returned in your show packet. OWNER OF HORSE: Complete name and address of Registered Owner MUST appear in the space indicating Owner Information. ONE OWNER ONLY per form. Entries may be made in the name of stable or farm ONLY if the stable or farm is the person(s) listed on the horse s registration papers or the stable or farm name has been registered with USEF and USEF Farm Number is place on form and copy enclosed with the entry. COPIES OF MEMBERSHIP CARDS: Include PHOTOCOPIES of CURRENT USEF MEMBERSHIP CARDS FOR EVERY OWNER, TRAINER, RIDER, HANDLER, DRIVER AND JUNIOR OWNER, AND RIDER. Each competitor is responsible for supplying show management with copies of the correct association numbers USEF & AHA for the horse owner, rider, driver, handler and trainer before the close of entries. If the above cards are NOT submitted, the appropriate fees must be paid. REFUNDS: Horses may be scratched from the show at the owner s option. All requests for refunds must be in writing accompanied by a veterinarian certificate or doctors notice and received by the show secretary before the first class begins on the Friday of the show. Refunds of entries are subject to the show Management's decision. REFUSAL OF ENTRIES: The Show Management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally or to cancel any entries of any exhibitor. RESOLUTION 9-90 FEE--$4.00: Judges and Stewards Educational Fee-Mandatory $4.00/horse RETURNED CHECKS: There will be a $25.00 fee charged for returned checks. Unsettled accounts as of April 15, 2016 will be forwarded to USEF and or AHA for appropriate action. All checks must have correct address and telephone number. RV & CAMPERS PARKING FEE--$25.00/NIGHT: Hookups of electrical and water only on the Fairgrounds. Any vehicle attached to fairgrounds utilities, including barn electrical is considered subject to this fee. RV permits will be issued by the show office and must be displayed in the vehicle windshield at all times, on a 1st come, 1st served basis, sites limited. SCRATCHING CLASSES: As a courtesy to the Gate Man, Announcer and Show Office exhibitors are requested to notify the Gate and the Show Office when it is necessary to scratch a class entered. A fee of $10 may be charged. SIGNATURES: Owner, trainer, and rider or handler must sign, the entry form in the spaces provided. In the case of a rider or handler under 18, his or her parent or guardian (if not available the trainer must sign) the entry blank on behalf of the minor. If the owner and trainer are the same, the owner must sign both spaces. Trainer is defined as any adult or adults who have the responsibility for the care, training, custody, or performance of a horse. The social security number of the owner must be included on the entry form. ANY TRAINER, RIDER OR HANDLER WHO EXHIBITS HORSES IN THIS SHOW OR SIGNS THE ENTRY FORM AS THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON FOR ANY INDIVIDUALS HORSES AT THIS SHOW MUST BE A MEMBER OF AHA AND USEF AND SEND COPIES OF THEIR AHA AND USEF OR CEF CARDS WITH THE ENTRY FORM. STABLING: STALLS--$100.00: Stalls are available on a first come first serve basis. GGAHA feels that all stalls at Sonoma County Fairgrounds are good stalls. A great deal of consideration is given in the assignment of stalls. All groups should send their entries together in the same envelope or indicate which exhibitors will be sending their entries in separately in order to avoid confusion. Please contact the show secretary if at all possible. When permanent stalls are filled no more will be available. Post entries will be stabled in available stalls as assigned by the barn manager. Each animal will be assigned to a separate permanent stall with a door. Exception: broodmares with suckling foals. Horses will be placed in the stalls assigned to the exhibitor. NO CHANGES permitted without the permission of the barn manager. Stalls will be available at noon on the Thursday immediately preceding the show and must be vacated before noon the Monday immediately following the show. NOTE: Every horse entered must pay either a full stall fee, a day stall fee, or a grounds fee. GROUNDS FEE (TRAILER IN FEE)--$20.00/HORSE/DAY: Exhibitors may show from their trailers at a $20.00 grounds fee per horse per day. Note: Any exhibitor under this option found to be utilizing any stall will be charged the day stall fee. Page 13 Page 14

TACK ROOMS/GROOM ROOMS--$100.00: Tack rooms in the barn area have cement floors and lockable doors. Groom (ready) rooms are the same as stalls in the barn area. Because there may be a shortage of stalls/and or tack rooms the assignment of tack and ready rooms will be made using the following ratios: 1-6 horses: 1 tack room & 1 ready room / 7-9 horses: 2 tack rooms & 2 ready rooms /10 & over horses: 3 tack rooms & 3 ready rooms EARLY STALL REQUESTS: Those exhibitors planning to arrive before the Thursday date must state approximate time on their entry form or contact show manager. Early arrivals and late departures will be charged $20.00/stall per night. Unscheduled arrivals will not have bedding in their stalls. DAY STALLS--$50.00: Day stalls will be available at a rate of $50.00 per day, including one bale of straw. (If your horse requires shavings the $50.00 charge will be in effect.) Day stalls are only for one-day use and must be vacated within 1 hour of the last class of the day. Day stalls will be assigned to a single specified barn. Day stalls will not be assigned to barns with regular assigned stalls. SHAVINGS--$50.00/STALL: For those exhibitors who need to use shavings, the fairgrounds require a charge of $50.00/stall for cleanup. SHAVINGS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. You must bring your own. SHOW OFFICE & REGISTRATION: The show office will open at Noon on the Thursday immediately preceding the show until 6 p.m. The office will open one hour prior to the start of the show each day until the end of classes. The office will close 30 minutes after the last class on Sunday. Exhibitors should check in immediately upon arrival. Exhibitors planning to come to the show grounds earlier must contact the show secretary or manager. USEF MEMEBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. (See GR 832) VETERINARIAN INSPECTION: All animals are subject to physical inspection by the show veterinarian at the discretion of the show committee. New USEF Rule Effective 12/1/2015 GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule 1. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methods mentioned below. The frequency of vaccine administration should be per the vaccine manufacturers or veterinarian s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines are administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. 2. In the case of vaccines administered by a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide documentation from the veterinarian on documenting that the horse in question received the vaccinations; name of the vaccines and date of vaccine administration. 3. In the case of vaccines administered by a person other than a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a receipt of the vaccine purchase which is signed by the owner, or agent with care, custody, and control of the horse; name, serial number and expiration date of the vaccine; and date of vaccine administration. 4. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccinations due to a history of adverse reactions, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a letter from the veterinarian on official letterhead stating that the horse in question cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns and a log of temperatures taken twice daily for the seven days prior to entering the competition grounds. These horses must also have their temperature taken and logged twice daily while on the competition grounds. The log of temperatures should be provided to the Competition Management, steward, or technical delegate when requested. 5. AHA ENTRY AGREEMENT I have read the rules concerning competitions as printed in the Arabian Horse Association (AHA) Handbook / Directory and Competition Prize List and agree to be bound by and subject to those Rules. AHA ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION This document waives very important legal rights. Read it carefully before signing. In consideration for AHA permitting me to participate in this Competition, and by signing the entry blank, I agree as follows: I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in this Competition, as a rider, driver, handler, lessee, owner, agent, coach, trainer, junior exhibitor, or as a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor. I AGREE that AHA has the sole right to control, sell, supervise or give away (or assign to others the right to do so) the exclusive rights to broadcast, televise, reproduce, transmit and disseminate all or part of this event, and I agree that AHA may use or assign, in any way AHA sees fit, photographs, films, videos, audios, cablecasts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the Competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the Competition or AHA. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way which implies endorsement of any company, product, product category or service. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. This AHA Assumption of Risk, Release and Indemnification is governed by the Laws of the State of Colorado and is intended to be interpreted as broadly as possible. I agree that exclusive jurisdiction and venue (place) for any legal action against AHA, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers or agents shall be in the local district courts or the federal court of the State of Colorado. If any part of this agreement is determined to be unenforceable, all other parts shall remain effect.
