Player Achievements Kaitlyn Ashmore plays for the Western Bulldogs in the annual Women s AFL Match. Kaitlyn also represents Victoria in Women s AFL and as Female Football continues to develop we will soon see her again playing at the highest level. We are very lucky to have Kaitlyn playing for the Club and we support her as future ambitions. Lachlan Edwards Sam Houston State Lachlan Edwards played in our 2012 University team after being sort after by the club due to his ability to be a leader and great player on the field. He managed to bring great support to the coaches and the team managers in this role and as a result gained a green and gold representation medal.after this he was then was recognised for his ability to kick the ball with great control and measure and was asked to enter a try out day for the NFL university teams. After completing these trials he was scouted by the American Universities and many placed a tender for his ability to join their team and he now plays for Sam Houston State University as their number one punter and was named in the top 5 specialist s players for the year. This goes to show the talent that comes from the University Games and the dreams that can be made as a result of the support given to them. Casey Scorpions VFL 2011 North Ballarat Roosters 2012 2012 Green & Gold Selection Australian University Games Adelaide Sam Houston State University 2013 Our Players Players & Competition Background In the male side, we have players from over 20 different home clubs and 15 different football leagues around Victoria. In 2014 we had 6 players who had won Premierships back for their home clubs & 4 players who were named in the best team of the year for their respective league. Competition The opposition University s are extremely competitive with players coming from their respectful states highest form of football under AFL such as VFL, SANFL & WAFL. There are 15 University s participate in Male division and also 15 University s in female. The competition is significantly growing in magnitude and becoming much more professional with many clubs now securing the support of sponsors to further develop their squads. Fed Uni FC understands that we now need to develop our current squad and scout deeper into the University at the talent available to remain a fierce competitor. Women s Football Women s football is experiencing significant growth across Australia with it popularity the AFL has a plan for a full national league to match the male league. This is extremely promising for females who wish to pursue a career in AFL or aim to play at the highest level. Fed Uni FC is well aware of the pathways football can offer and we are extremely supportive of our female players further pursuing football commitments. Coach Bryce Curnow currently plays for the Victorian Football League club the North Ballarat Roosters. His on field leadership along with his off field leadership is outstanding which he is highly respected by his teammates. He is also very active in the local community volunteering at local schools as well as being an ambassador for the Gamling s not a Game campaign, which promotes the awareness of anit- gambling in sporting clubs. Bryce unfortunately injured his shoulder this season but has kindly volunteered to coach the side at this year University Games. He is currently studying Physical Education. Bryce Curnow Social Media Social Media is our largest platform with the significant growth digitally. We are continuing to grow this area and support it with good news stories to engage our audiences while acting professionally. 2015 NAB AFL Challenge Curtain Raiser AFL 9 s Cup Winners F e d e r a t i o n U n i v e r s i t y A u s t r a l i a F o o t b a l l C l u b Page 9

AFL 9 s In 2016 Fed Uni FC will enter a Mixed AFL side into the local Ballarat Competition. It s a fast, free- flowing game that involves 9 players on each team playing on a smaller field. Best of all, it s touch football with no tackling or bumping, making it suitable for people of any age or skill level. Importantly, AFL 9s is easy to play, not too physically demanding and provides an environment where fun, enjoyment and safety are a priority. This is a great opportunity for both male and female players to play alongside each other where typically in traditional AFL would be unable. Charity Involvement Community Involvement We will continue to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) as we aim to provide more awareness of the about the services they provide for seriously ill children and their families who are needing the support. RMHC provide many programs that offer vital support for families with sick children. In 2014 we will be volunteering at the Melbourne Parkville House to support these children and their families. Kokoda Track In 2016 the club will be sending a small group of players along with Federation University to complete the Kokoda Track. It is a great opportunity to travel to Papua New Guinea to experience yet pay our respect to those who have fallen in World War II. It is extremely important we understand the history of Australia and the ultimate sacrifice of those in War as they have provided us with such a lucky country to live in today. It s very mentally challenging & physically challenging as you are reflecting on a lot of the things that the diggers did for us over there Fed Uni FC player Jonty Wall Reflecting on his Kokoda Trek experience in 2014. Auskick We will again continue to support local Auskick clubs as we believe it is important to encourage and promote children to learn important social skills, including cooperation and respect for others. We trust that contact with adults provides valuable role model experiences for our players and a positive attribute to development in junior football. Volunteer Eco Students Abroad (ESA) - Fiji Islands Discovered Ryan Bell and Tyron Cover, both Federation University students and members of the Fed Uni Football Club are travelling with student travel company VESA (Volunteer Eco Students Abroad) to Fiji between the 6th to the 19th of December. During the program the boys will be staying and volunteering in the villages of Fiji. They will be introduced to a local community via a traditional welcoming ceremony before commencing a week of volunteer work. The volunteer work the boys will be completing includes; working with children in the village schools teaching English and basic sanitation, renovating and revitalising the facilities with fresh coats of paint, installing new play equipment and the construction and installation of bathrooms and water catchments. This is certainly an experience of a lifetime for the boys, something we hope they will learn a lot from and cherish the experience. Ryan and Tyron are excited about the trip and whilst they are over there will be distributing Fed Uni Football Club apparel to the Fijian locals. Sponsorship Packages We have a range of sponsorship packages to suit all kinds of organisations which are based on the level of commitment with your investment in the club. Financial Sponsorship investment goes directly towards fundraising of the travel for the players to the Australian University Games, contribution to their apparel and foods/fluids. In 2013, it cost $65,500 to take 56 players to the Gold Coast for the Australian University Games which was directly contributed by the players themselves which covered airfares, transfers, accommodation & registrations only. As the team has no other form of income, Fed Uni FC heavily relies on sponsorships and contribution from generous organisations to continue to ensure we are able to perform to our best potential and more importantly the ability to travel safely to these competitions & represent our University. When travelling to Sydney in 2014 for the Australian University Games, to take 56 male & female players, we are looking at a total cost of $68,830 to compete. This will cover flights, transfers, registration, accommodation & the player s apparel. We understand that many organisations are already fully committed & have allocated sponsors financial assistance for 2014 but if you could consider us we would be greatly appreciative. We aim as any assistance goes directly towards reducing the costs of the apparel for the playing group as well as providing meals and hydration while in competition. All other funds will be fully contributed by the players themselves. We are extremely appreciative of all our sponsors and supporters as we continue to build the club forwards. All packages are negotiable to suit your current organisations commitments and we welcome feedback to design a package to suit. Some organisations offer product to raffle off for fundraising along with supplying of equipment to train which we considerably appreciate. Please read through the following packages and we hope we have something to suit.
