In Memory Duane H. Shull, an original Lake View Development Corporation board member and the last living founder of Lake View Country Club, passed away on June 17, 2018 at the age of 90. Even though he moved from North East many years ago, he always returned each year on or near his birthday to play a round of golf at Lake View. It was just last August he returned and played 18 holes for the last time and celebrated his birthday that evening with his family at Lake View. Duane retired as Senior Vice President in the factory automation business of General Electric Company. Both he and his wife Alice were active golfing members in Lake View s early years. It was Alice who was instrumental in starting the Ladies Grape Harvest Invitational tournament held each year in September. Dessert of the Month Peaches, Peaches, and more peaches! RULES QUESTION There has been several discussions regarding which set of tees a player should compete from. What are rules or guidelines regarding this issue? ANSWER: The USGA does not have any rules regarding this question. Handicaps are adjusted per USGA guidelines when players are competing using different sets of tees. The USGA and the PGA has a chart that recommends the suggested yardage for each player. There are not any recommendations based on age or handicap.
