THANK YOU TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT CAME TO WATCH KEVIN IN ACTION AT BRIDGE OF ALLAN Congratulations to Gold Coast 2018 athlete Kevin Moran who raised more than 6,000 for charity Lisa s Gift during his gruelling whistle-stop squash tour of Scotland this month. To raise awareness and money for Lisa s Gift, Kevin took to the court over three days playing in several exhibition matches and hosting squash clinics across Scotland. He began his tour in Galashiels before heading across the country to various clubs including in Dumfries, Aberdeen, Thurso, Forthill, Dalgety, Oban and Bridge of Allan. Kevin's target was to raise 3,000 but he raised more than double that amount.
You will remember that as part of my 100 Club promotion in recent newsletters, there was mention of a new door entry system being installed. Well it's happening. The software and door entry mechanism is in place and ready to go live. The next stage is for all members to collect their new membership / swipe card from the bar at the Club The new system will offer - AVAILABLE NOW. 1. Access to the Clubhouse and Gymnasium, for senior members, from 7.00am every morning. 2. Added security for bar staff during quieter evening periods. 3. The prevention of any un-authorised use of the facilities by non-members. Stage two will be the addition of a new EPOS (Till) system offering - 1. Beneficial price differentials for members / non-members. 2. The analysis of member spend against non-member spend, which is critical to retain our status as a Community Amateur Sports Club. 3. Identity and membership confirmation for bar staff in order to ensure alcohol is not served to nonmembers without them being signed in. This is a legal obligation under licensing law. 4. Improved analysis and reporting of bar / food takings. The intention was to go live on August 1 st, however, a little more work on the door closure and to the alarm system is required. I am also on holiday next week and I want to be present, on site, to handle any teething troubles that may occur in the early days. Therefore, upon my return, I will set the system to go live on Monday 13 th August 2018. FULL INSTRUCTIONS ON THE OPERATION OF THE DOOR ENTRY WILL FOLLOW PRIOR TO GOING LIVE. An update on the implementation of the new till will be given during August. PLEASE COLLECT YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD FROM THE BAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, YOU WILL NEED IT TO ENTER THE CLUB WHEN THE DOOR ENTRY SYSTEM IS IN OPERATION.
