We have an arrangement with Tennis Scotland so that these players are now members of the club and can train with their coaches here. It is a good extra source of income for the club and has the added bonus of being able to watch these players training. Great inspiration for our juniors! View the Eye brochure at www. eyerackets.co.uk. THANK YOU TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT CAME TO WATCH KEVIN IN ACTION AT BRIDGE OF ALLAN Congratulations to Gold Coast 2018 athlete Kevin Moran who raised more than 6,000 for charity Lisa s Gift during his gruelling whistle-stop squash tour of Scotland this month. To raise awareness and money for Lisa s Gift, Kevin took to the court over three days playing in several exhibition matches and hosting squash clinics across Scotland. He began his tour in Galashiels before heading across the country to various clubs including in Dumfries, Aberdeen, Thurso, Forthill, Dalgety, Oban and Bridge of Allan. Kevin's target was to raise 3,000 but he raised more than double that amount.

You will remember that as part of my 100 Club promotion in recent newsletters, there was mention of a new door entry system being installed. Well it's happening. The software and door entry mechanism is in place and ready to go live. The next stage is for all members to collect their new membership / swipe card from the bar at the Club The new system will offer - AVAILABLE NOW. 1. Access to the Clubhouse and Gymnasium, for senior members, from 7.00am every morning. 2. Added security for bar staff during quieter evening periods. 3. The prevention of any un-authorised use of the facilities by non-members. Stage two will be the addition of a new EPOS (Till) system offering - 1. Beneficial price differentials for members / non-members. 2. The analysis of member spend against non-member spend, which is critical to retain our status as a Community Amateur Sports Club. 3. Identity and membership confirmation for bar staff in order to ensure alcohol is not served to nonmembers without them being signed in. This is a legal obligation under licensing law. 4. Improved analysis and reporting of bar / food takings. The intention was to go live on August 1 st, however, a little more work on the door closure and to the alarm system is required. I am also on holiday next week and I want to be present, on site, to handle any teething troubles that may occur in the early days. Therefore, upon my return, I will set the system to go live on Monday 13 th August 2018. FULL INSTRUCTIONS ON THE OPERATION OF THE DOOR ENTRY WILL FOLLOW PRIOR TO GOING LIVE. An update on the implementation of the new till will be given during August. PLEASE COLLECT YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD FROM THE BAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, YOU WILL NEED IT TO ENTER THE CLUB WHEN THE DOOR ENTRY SYSTEM IS IN OPERATION.

Contact Steve Ingram for more information at manager@boasc.com The 100 CLUB Why join the 100 Club? Simple It s a fantastic way of supporting the development of your Club and an opportunity to win at least 100 every month by way of a prize draw. Over the past couple of years or so, the Club has seen - The installation of the Padel Court The refurbishment of the Lounge The conversion of the snooker room to a multi-use function / fitness suite, now known as the Minewood Suite New gym equipment An assisted chin up machine. Soon we will also see - A refurbished bar, A sound proof partition between the Lounge and the Minewood Suite A Door Entry System, linked to a new till and Database The Committee have done a brilliant job of managing the Club s finances in order to carry out all of this work and still leave the Club with a positive bank balance. However, continuous development requires ongoing investment. The 100 Club income helps enormously to contribute towards this investment. For only 5 per entry, per month, you will play a major role in this continuing development and at the same time ensuring that the quality of all courts and facilities are of the highest standard. Remember - to be a full senior member of the Club and to join the 100 Club equates to 1.09 per day Fantastic Value! Complete the Standing Order mandate (available at reception or bar) and return to Steve at the Club then wait for the monthly draw.
