T Neve, rider of Captain s Call, reported that her mount hung out throughout the event.

Revanche returned having cast its off-fore plate in running. Race 2 BEST TM MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres: Acting on a confirmed telephone call from trainer Mr D Weir that Count D Aguilar would not arrive on course by the prescribed time due to a transport misunderstanding, it was declared a late withdrawal at 10:50am. Under the circumstances no action was taken. Common Rail was slow to begin. Harada Belle commenced awkwardly. Magical Ruby raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Chanapa was inclined to lay outwards rounding the home turn and in the straight. Rounding the home turn, Express Opinion shifted out to improve and in doing so bumped Our Delphia out onto Magical Ruby with both runners being taken out off their course. D Holland, rider of Express Opinion, was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when there was insufficient ground to do so. Also as a result of this incident Positive Decision and Justalittlesquirt were both hampered. A post race veterinary examination of Magical Ruby revealed a slower than normal recovery rate. Race 3 SHEEP HILLS CUP SUNDAY SEPT 7 MAIDEN PLATE - 1600 metres: Knight Hero bounded in the air as the start was affected losing considerable ground. Co trainer K O Sullivan was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for its barrier behaviour. Unicaja got its head up as the start was affected and after the gates opened, threw its head to the side of its barrier stall, thereby losing significant ground (10L). Trainer W Walters representative was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly for its barrier manners. Also, as the start was affected, Jupe refused to jump and as a result took no competitive part in the event. Trainer J Collins was advised that prior to racing again the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards. All of these incidents were observed via the official film by the Stewards prior to the announcement of correct weight. Near the 1300m, Spiritual Manner was crowded by Switch Point which was steadied inwards and away from Brackova (J Rule). J Rule was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when not sufficiently clear. In the middle stages Bitadare was inclined to over-race. The Armani raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Approaching the home turn, Coogan and Knight Hero were crowded for room to the inside of Switch Point which shifted in when weakening. Approaching the home turn, Merry Yeoman had difficulty obtaining clear running.

In the early stages of the straight, It s Electrifying was held up for clear running and passing the 200m had to be steadied around the heels of The Armani. Knight s Hero was unable to obtain clear running in the straight and as a result went to the line not fully tested. Passing the 200m Cartel Queen was bumped on several occasions when crowded for room between Spiritual Manner and Brackova which was inclined to lay outwards. Near the 150m Spiritual Manner had to be eased to avoid the heels of Jungle Spirit which shifted in. H McKechnie, rider of Haakon, was severely reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift ground when not sufficiently clear. Race 4 UNIBET 0 58 HANDICAP - 1600 metres: Wayward Son and Encosta Rossa both commenced awkwardly losing ground at the start. Passing the 200m, Encosta Rossa had to be steadied after shifting in and becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of Linka. Haakon had some difficulty in obtaining clear running in the straight. R Plumb (Don t Tell Yamemma) accidently dropped his whip shortly after straightening. A post race veterinary examination of Hanging Loose revealed the gelding to have minor lameness in the near foreleg. Race 5 PONY EXPRESS BM64 HANDICAP (1) - 1200 metres: Sea Ghost was slow to begin. Abragamov was crowded and bumped on several occasions between Ask The Boss and Balzac which shifted in shortly after the start. Follow The Fortune raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Approaching the home turn Chicago Miss was held up for clear running. Approaching and rounding the home turn, Winter Solace was severely held up when behind the tiring Stormaway. As a result Winter Solace had to be checked near the 200m to avoid that geldings heels. When questioned, J Robertson rider of Winter Solace, reported that he was unable to come to the outside of Stormaway prior to straightening as he was in a difficult position inside that geldings heels. J Robertson further added that after suffering interference it took him a moment to regain his bearings and as a result he did not ride the mare out in his usual manner. While stewards acknowledged that his actions did not affect the result, they nonetheless reminded J Robertson of his obligations to ride his mount out to the finish.

Approaching the 100m Follow The Fortune was crowded and had to be eased between Sea Ghost and Trente which shifted in slightly. Trainer R Gilcrist reported that Trick N Treat had lost its off-hind plate as a result of being galloped on during the event. Rounding the home turn Le Maro was crowded for room between Va Hala and Rock Speed which shifted in and away from Magic Consol. Rounding the home turn Browneyedhawk was held up for clear running. J Fry, rider of Va Hala, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(a) for careless riding in that near the 900m he manoeuvred his mount into a position unduly tight to the outside of Oakford Lass, which made contact with the running rail being checked and losing significant ground, also as a result of Oakford Lass becoming severely unbalanced Gold Bridian which was following had to be checked outwards to avoid that mare s heels, resulting in Gold Bridian, Space Trek and Cutler all being hampered. J Fry had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight 13/7 and to expire on midnight the 23/7, a suspension of 10 meetings (2 Metro & 8 Prov). In assessing the matter Stewards conceded that the racing manners of Oakford Lass, which shifted inwards and away from Va Hala to some degree, were a contributing factor to the incident and to the severity of the interference. Further they deemed the incident to be in the mid range and took into account the aforementioned racing manners of Oakford Lass, J Fry s guilty plea and his very good record. A post race veterinary exam of Le Maro revealed the gelding to have minor soreness in both front legs. A post race veterinary exam of Oakford Lass revealed the mare to be slightly sore in the near foreleg. The track was upgraded to a Dead 4 after completion of Race 6 (3.05pm). Race 7 O CONNORS CASE IH WARRACKNABEAL CUP - 2000 metres: Prior to the 5 race, Trainer M Freedman advised it was their intention to have Orientaped ridden more forward in today s event due to the addition of blinkers to the gelding s gear. As a result, Herman underwent a veterinary examination, and was declared a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 3.34pm. All monies invested on Herman withdrawn by the order of the stewards at 15:34 to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and place-getters prior to 15:34... 1 cent in the dollar for the Win #11

After viewing the photo all parties agreed with the decision and correct weight was given. Approaching and rounding the home turn Coghills Creek was held up for clear running. Race 8 BENTLEY GROUP BM64 HANDICAP - 2000 metres: Holly Holy raced wide in the early stages until being allowed to stride forward and obtain the lead near the 1100m. In the early stages of the straight Leathal s Legacy had some difficulty obtaining clear running. Race 9 FISHERS IGA 0 58 HANDICAP - 1000 metres: As no senior rider was available stewards permitted apprentice J Martin to replace J Rule as rider of Vibration. Vibration was slow to begin. Jolly Bel and Jaya s Kiss were crowded for room at the start between Magnusificent which shifted out, and Allicanbe. Shortly after the start Jolly Bel had to be crowded when tightened for room between Allicanbe and Flying Magnus which shifted in. Flying Magnus which was hanging inwards, was bumped by Gorgeous Gerda which was initially taken in by Caniwin. Flying Magnus then shifted inwards abruptly despite the strenuous attempt of its rider to straighten the gelding, which eventually made heavy contact with Magnusificent which was crowded for room having to be restrained. Also with this incident Around The Legs became unbalanced after its hind quarters were bumped by Magnusificent. Trainer N Phillips representative was advised that due to Flying Magnus racing manners it would have to trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing again. A post race veterinary examination of Flying Magnus revealed no abnormalities. Allicanbe over raced in the middle stages. Caniwin and Gorgeous Gerda both raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Rounding the home turn Jolly Bel dipped in the going with its rider becoming unbalanced. L Londregan (Magnusificent) accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m. SWAB SAMPLES Pre-race blood for post-race analysis:
