Club Championship Info 1. The first half of the Club Championship will be held at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club - Orchard Course in Lincoln on September 14, 2014. The second half will be held at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club - Hills Course on October 12, 2014. 2. To be eligible for the Club Championships, the member must have played a minimum of two of our tournaments during the year. There were 8 regular tournaments to choose from prior to the Club Championship. This rule was put into effect because, in the past, there were members who never played in our tournaments all year, then showed up at the Club Championships and ran away with it (prizes, $100, trophy, etc.) The club felt it was only fair and in good fellowship that one should participate in a few prior tournaments before playing the Club Championships. 3. During the Championships, players will be paired up in foursomes by their Flights. "A" Flight players will play with "A" Flight players. "B" Flight players will play with "B" Flight players, and so on. Players will be paired up by their handicaps during the first half and by the results of the first half for the second half round. 4. Any member can play our Club Championships tournaments (the Orchard or the Hills course) and not participate in the Championships. Example: Mel Yu cannot play at Orchard course, but will play the Hills course in October. Those who want to play at the Orchard or the Hills and do not wish to be in the Championships can form their own groups to golf if they wish. Our regular monthly tournament is still in progress when the Club Championship is held, so our regular tournament prizes are still awarded. 5. Players not involved in the Championships will still be able to win the Closest to the Pin Hole, and play the Money Hole and Skins as well (in the flight their handicap places them in). Deadline for sign up is September 1, 2014 for the first round - Orchard course. May Lee@ famileex5@sbcglobal.net to sign up or if you have any questions. Contact Thank you, May 5

The Pope met with his cardinals to discuss a proposal from the Prime Minister of Israel. "Your Holiness," said one of the cardinals, "the Prime Minister wants to challenge you to a game of golf to show the friendship and ecumenical spirit shared by the Jewish and Catholic faiths." The Pope thought this was a good idea, but he had never played golf. "Do we have a cardinal who plays who can represent me?" he asked. "None that play well," the cardinal replied. "But there is a man named Bubba Watson, an American golfer who is very devout. We can offer to make him a cardinal, and then ask him to play as your personal representative. Besides showing our spirit of cooperation, we'll win the match." Everyone agreed it was a good idea and the call was made. Of course, Bubba was honored and agreed to play. The day after the match, Bubba came to the Vatican to report to the Pope. "I have some good news and some bad news, your Holiness," the golfer told the Pope. "Tell me the good news first, Cardinal Watson." "I don't like to brag, but even though I've played some great golf in my life, this was the best I've ever played, by far. I must have been inspired from above. My drives were long and true, my irons accurate and purposeful, and my putting perfect. With all due respect, my play was truly miraculous." "And there's bad news?" asked the Pope. "Yes," Bubba sighed. "I lost by three strokes to Rabbi McElroy. 8
