Relay For Life of Forsyth County Haw Creek is pleased to announce our participation in Relay For Life of Forsyth County. The event will take place on May 12-15, 2010 from 7pm-7am at City of Cumming Fairgrounds. This festival-like celebration is designed for family fun while supporting advancements in cancer treatment and research. Survivors are the reason we Relay. Survivors make up a group of nearly 11 million strong who are finding their way through the cancer experience and fighting back against the disease. At Relay For Life, Survivors are our guests of honor and we would like to honor all of the survivors in our community. If you, or someone you know is a survivor, please consider registering to attend the Survivor Dinner on Friday, April 16th. We would also love to have you join the Survivor Lap which is the first lap of the event on May 14th. Caregivers are also welcome to join the Survivor Lap in memory of those that we have lost to this disease. The Luminary Ceremony is the opportunity for people to come together to remember loved ones lost to cancer and honor those who have won their battle. This is one of the most moving parts of the event that you will not want to miss. Honor or remember someone at Relay For Life with a luminaria. This year three types luminary are available: 1. luminary bag labeled in honor or memory ~ $10 donation 2. luminary bag labeled in honor or memory AND a Yard Sign of Hope or Remembrance ~ $25 donation 3. luminary bag labeled in honor or memory AND a rose bush ~ $50 donation All forms are available at school or on-line at http://main.acsevents.org/site/tr?fr_id=24391&pg=entry For more information please contact Shelly Otis at sotis@forsyth.k12.ga.us or Maggie Paoletti at mpaoletti@forsyth.k12.ga.us. CRCT Test Prep The On line Assessment System (OAS), which is a test preparation site for CRCT and GHSGT, can be found at https://www.georgiaoas.org/servlet/a21. The On line Assessment System enables students in Georgia's public schools to access tests that consist of the same kinds of questions as appear on the state's assessments in reading, English/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) and the Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT). The Online Assessment System (OAS) is available throughout the school year so that teachers can integrate testing on CRCT and GHSGT subjects with their teaching of those subjects. The system is also available to students outside the classroom for use anywhere they have an Internet connection, such as after school and on weekends. Parents and others without personal login IDs, however, can log on to the OAS using the generic login IDs and passwords for each grade, as given in the table below: To see Student Tests for this grade: Use this login: Use this password: 1st grade grade1 grade1 2nd grade grade2 grade2 3rd grade grade3 grade3 4th grade grade4 grade4 5th grade grade5 grade5
