Lake Norman Shag Club has started the year off with a successful re-up party. Our membership stands at 134. If you have not sent your re-up monies in, well it is not too late. Send your monies to: Lake Norman Shag Club P.O. Box 2095 Cornelius, NC 28031 For those that could not make it to our January meeting you missed a presentation by WSGE for our contribution of $2,050.00 raised through our golf tournament. This was a very kind gesture on their part and one that was truly unexpected. Several in the shag club attended Mid-Winter SOS. That proved to be very beneficial both in knowledge gained from the workshop and we picked up four new members that are not residents of Lake Norman! Why did they join? Because of your reputation! Lake Norman Shag Club is known throughout the shag community as one of the friendliest clubs around. They like being around us! Needless to say this is a reflection of you, thank you. Chicken Pickin! Oh my, oh my! From what I am hearing this party will be awesome! Between the activities, entertainment and the best DJ s around, you won t want to miss this one. It is not too late to sign up, just send your check to the address above and note Chicken Pickin on it. Members, I just want to reiterate that this board is working for you! If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please feel free to call me at 704.400.6400. Terry

Page 3 Final Preparations Made For Chicken Pickin 2015 We are getting closer and closer to the date of Chicken Pickin. The Chicken Pickin committee and many other committee chairmen are busy making their final preparations for this One of a Kind Party. We are just so, excited about all of the events planned for these three days. Chicken Pickin 2015 has something for everyone this year! We have several raffles (Jewelry, 50/50 & Spirits), a Silent Auction, Wine Tasting, Table Decorating & Decade Dress-Up contests, a Dance Lesson, a Free Shooter at the door, and Really, Special Entertainment. We certainly don t want our guests to lose sight of why we have this annual party in the first place, though. The main reason we are assembled is to enjoy wonderful beach music provided by the Best DJ s in the South and DANCE! The second reason for this annual beach trip to the OD Arcade is to enjoy the company of our Lake Norman Shag Club members and their shag dance-loving friends. One opportunity during the party, which I have not discussed in previous newsletter articles, is our Spirit s Raffle. We are assembling a beach wagon full of top shelf liquors and other various spirits. (The picture below is just a preview. It is not complete, at this time.) During Chicken Pickin, you will have an opportunity to purchase $10 raffle tickets for chances to win The Spirits & The Wagon. So, if you haven t paid your Chicken Pickin entry fee, yet. Please fill out the CP Flyer and send your money to the address on the bottom of the flyer. As always, you may pay at the door, but we prefer that you pay in advance, so the Arcade staff knows how many chickens to buy! See you in a few weeks! Donnie & Sue

Page 7 Parade Participant Request & Reminder If you will be in North Myrtle Beach on 4/25 and a member of the LNSC, please plan to participate in the parade. We promise you will have a lot of fun and it will be an experience you will not forget! This year our theme is over the top and we want as many LNSC members to participate as possible. If you have not already done so, please notify Pats Cohee and Kathy Sapp by sending an email to pecohee1@gmail.com and they will provide you with the specifics and answer your questions. Props Needed: We need a stuffed doll of a man or woman at least 4 ft. in height that we can dress up as part of the float decoration. If you have this prop, please send an email to pecohee1@gmail.com. We will return, in the original condition, after the parade. Sign up now and join the fun! Pats Cohee 2014 SPRING PARADE
