NOTICES Video surveillance at the new Fire and Rescue NSW Emergency Services Academy, Orchard Hills In accordance with In Orders 2006/13, Overt video surveillance policy, employees are hereby notified that 15 surveillance cameras will be installed on the outside of the new Logistics Warehouse, together will 7 internal cameras and 2 within high security rooms. The purpose of cameras is for asset monitoring and protection. The surveillance will commence from the opening day of the facilities and at least 14 days after this notice. The surveillance will be continuous and remain in place indefinitely. The cameras will be clearly visible in the place where the surveillance is taking place and signs will be visible to notify people that they may be under surveillance in the location of the cameras. The captured camera footage will not be used to monitor work performance. The surveillance footage will be retained for a period of 31 days in accordance with Australian Standard 4806-2006: Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Management and Operation. This period may be extended where an incident has occurred where requested by Authorised Personnel. Consistent with the Overt video surveillance policy, FRNSW will not rely on video footage or captured images from the cameras with regard to minor misdemeanours. However, FRNSW reserves the right to use captured video footage and images from the surveillance cameras in relation to illegal behaviour or behaviour which could be the subject of investigation as potential misconduct under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 or the Procedural Guidelines for the Management of Conduct. All Trade Unions connected with FRNSW have been consulted in relation to the workings of the workplace surveillance cameras.
