ADDITIONAL HOCKEY ACADEMY/CORE SKILLS HOCKEY These sessions run from October to March and take place after school. They are by Invitation Only from the coaches with players being invited to attend following assessments during the first 4 weeks of training on Sunday mornings. The sessions are at an additional cost. FRIDAY NIGHT HOCKEY Due to the high demand for hockey and in recognition that many boys would like to play hockey but are committed to rugby or football on a Sunday, we run a hockey session on Friday evenings especially for those who cannot join us on Sundays. This is a mixed session of boys and girls from U9-U16 in age with the season running alongside the Sunday membership dates. This session is also very popular and accordingly a waiting list is held for places. For further information please email: : hockey@twcsport.co.uk HOLIDAY CAMPS BM Hockey Camps run sessions during the school holidays which are open to members and non members. Information and registration forms can be found on our website: www.twcsport.co.uk/hockey/juniors/camps CLUB ATTIRE & KIT Members are expected to play and train in club kit. These, plus other hockey kit and accessories, can be found via the Hockey page on the club website or direct at: http://proshophockey.co.uk/wimbledon-hc-225-c.asp Every player must have: mouth guard and shin pads in order to train or take part in a match. Ideally everyone should have a spare mouth guard in their hockey bag in case they lose one. Additionally, each player should have their own water bottle in order to keep hydrated. Club kit consists of: shirt, shorts/skort, socks, hoodie all of which may be bought online via our website. At the start of the season we have a couple of kit sales at KCS, the dates for which are emailed to all members and are also shown on our website. 8

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FREEZING WEATHER Despite all our best efforts we are not able to control the weather! As a result occasionally we have had to cancel Junior hockey. We make every effort to leave this decision as late as possible on a Sunday morning in the hope that we do not need to cancel. Since we cannot ring, or answer calls from, all 600 participants we have put some procedures in place so you can check if hockey is on. SUNDAY MORNING SESSIONS AT KCS, RPHS AND RL A decision will be made by 8.30am on Sunday morning. If the sessions are cancelled then a message will be left on the Club Website, Hockey Home Page, from 8.30am. It will also be announced on our Facebook page. CLUB MATCHES HOME OR AWAY If you are due to play for one of the teams then your match Manager will contact you as soon as he/she is advised of any decision. Please contact them direct if you are unsure. : The website address for training updates is www.twcsport.co.uk/hockey GENERAL CLUB INFORMATION All juniors are members of the club and as such are welcome to use the facilities available to Junior Hockey members. COACHING TEAM Headed up by Ben Marsden we have a large team of qualified coaches and helpers. Many of our coaches are also involved in the England Hockey single system at county and national level as well as being current and former international players. We are proud of our structure and always welcome feedback as we are always looking to improve our set up. PARENT HELPERS We are always on the look out for new age group managers or administrators to help us out through the season. To find out more and/or to volunteer, please email: : hockey@twcsport.co.uk We are always on the lookout for new young coaches and like to encourage our juniors to get involved and qualified. The club pays for all coaching qualifications so long as these qualifications are used to coach at Wimbledon HC. It is a great way for teenagers to earn some extra pocket money as well! If you would like to learn more about this please email us on the email address above. CODES OF CONDUCT Please remember that at all times players and parents alike are representing Wimbledon Hockey Club. We firmly believe in respect for all so please: Respect your coaches, your umpires and your fellow players. Applaud good play, not just goals, for both teams. Be understanding and supportive of mistakes or if the team loses. Be positive don t dwell on mistakes. Let the coaches coach! Never use abusive language. And be prepared to step forward and help. For a copy of our full Codes of Conduct and Child Protection Policy please go to our website: www.twcsport.co.uk/hockey-codes-of-conduct 12
