For you Chevy lovers, Andy Keksis writes I don't know if anyone is interested, but Automobile Quarterly has published a new book "100 YEARS OF CHEVROLET". I was very impressed, lots of pictures and reprints of original documents. It covers 1911 to 2011. It is available from Vintage Chevrolet Club of America. It is beautiful! Just wanted you to know, Andy

Munds Park July 14, 2018 PAGE 5 It was a dark and drizzly morning when a few intrepid Club Members journeyed down the I-17 to participate in the Munds Park Car Show, held at the Munds Park RV Park. The light rain disappeared for most of the show, but continued on the trip back to Flagstaff. Pictured below are our club members cars and a few additional stunning classics. Joe Policastro s 2007 Chrysler Crossfire Alan s Willys and Richard s 81 DeLorean Gullwing. Jeff Bryan takes another award. Another rare American Motors Ambassidor, in mint condition. PAGE 6 MODEL A FORD NATIONAL CONVENTION Sparks/Reno June 25 29 By Jon Wiedenheft I took my 1931 stock Model A Coupe to the big event, a first time for me and the car. Over 500 Models A s from all over the country but mainly from the North West Region, and a few from AZ made the journey to Sparks. It was a bit overwhelming to see so many A s, of all body styles and years in one place. I entered my car in the Restorers Class judging and won a Silver Medallion for completeness, authenticity and appearance. Now I need to get a gear shift with Butler Nickel Finish. My 31 Deluxe Coupe.
PAGE 7 BABBITT FIFTH ANNUAL ALL FORD CAR SHOW Just imagine, a car show with no entry fee but having free hot dogs, chips and drinks, a DJ, a band, free tee shirts, goody bags, and token medallions. Oh, did I mention the great weather? This was the fifth annual Babbitt Car Show held on Sunday, July 1 and it was a well deserved success. Eleven club members showed their cars, and three members, won trophies! Club members attending the show were Mike Whittaker, Jeff Bryan, Tim Hewitt, Jerry McGlothin, Frank Baker, Sallie Page, Lance McKee, Dave Johnston, Vern Phannenstiel, David Read, and Jon Wiedenheft. Trophy winners were Vern with his Bronco, Jeff with his 39 Ford Coupe, and Jerry with his newly re-painted Detomaso Pantera. A big thanks to Alan Chan, owner of Babbitt Ford, for putting on this annual car show! Also thanks to Russ Furstnow for organizing the show and managing the car placement. Jerry McGlothin s award winning Pantera Model A Fords ; Jon Wiedenhefts Coupe & David Reads Truck Hi folks! I have some exciting news! The National Trust for Historic Preservation has launched a Route 66 Road Trip. They are taking their roadies and a classic Airstream trailer across 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica to publicize the effort to designate Route 66 as a National Historic Trail and highlight its inclusion on this year s 11 Most Endangered Places list. It took longer than expected to finalize the sponsorships so this is late notice. But they are scheduled to be in AZ from July 26-31, 2018. Yes that is this month! I was asked if I could help organize publicity for the stops in Arizona and I am getting a final list of those stops right now, but it does include Flagstaff and other towns along the route. I was hoping all or at least some of you could help me spread the word and get turn-out and support for this event. Maybe we could have a meeting after work soon to discuss and strategize. Here s the link to the Road Trip on the NTHP website. https://savingplaces.org/preserve-route-66#.wzpjv9vkim8 Let s get some serious Kicks on Route 66 this month! --Dave David Zimmerman Historic Preservation Specialist ADOT Environmental Planning A ROUTE 66 MOMENT Sean Evans has passed this note on from a member of the Historic Preservation Board.
