This research has given us a wealth of knowledge into pile condition and rehabilitation works enabling us to offer extensive experience and a proven track record in this field.

Projects and Experience Channel Deepening Project Victorian Desalination Project Spirit of Tasmania Professional Diving Services have been contracted to the Port of Melbourne Corporation and Boskalis for all diving services related to the channel deepening of the Port of Melbourne. Works on this project began for PDS in 1997 and are still ongoing. PDS were responsible for all diving works associated with the project including environmental monitoring, sediment sampling, wharf demolition, construction, removal of pipelines and the underwater maintenance of all vessels and dredging equipment. Professional Diving Services continue with monitoring and environmental monitoring works related to the project. The Victorian Desalination Project has been using Professional Diving Services to provide diving and support services since its inception. These works have included seabed surveys for the initial site selection, pre- and post-construction environmental monitoring, onshore and offshore underwater construction and the general underwater maintenance of the facility. Recent works have included the ongoing maintenance of the offshore structures and deep diving inspection works of the intake and outlet tunnels at 50m water depth. Offshore oil and gas support For more than twenty years, Professional Diving Services have been supplying diving services to TT-Line conducting surveys, maintenance and repairs to The Spirit of Tasmania vessels. This has included class In-Water Surveys, propeller polishing, propeller repairs, callout for emergency inspection and ongoing general underwater ship maintenance. PDS also assist TT-Line in the ongoing maintenance, upgrades and repairs of its berthing facilities. Gellibrand Pier Inspection/removal of sludge from 90m litre methane reactor A 90 million litre methane reactor at a major Australian cheese and butter manufacturer requires regular inspections several times throughout the year. Professional Diving Services have been contracted for this difficult contaminated diving job since 1994. Works conducted at the plant include routine inspections, upgrades to piping inside the reactor, dredging to remove dead bacteria and repairs as required. Professional Diving Services are Shell Diving Centre of Excellence approved and therefore a significant supplier to the offshore oil and gas industry when urgent works are required. Professional Diving Services have played significant roles in some of the major semi-submersible rig refits taken place in Australia to date including the Ocean Patriot and Kan Tan IV. Due to the urgency of the projects PDS supplied multiple dive crews 24 hours per day for two months to the Ocean Patriot project. Professional Diving Services also supported the heavy lift ship Blue Marlin on the delivery of the new Australian Navy LHD s. The Port of Melbourne Corporation contracted Professional Diving Services to complete rehabilitation works to timber and steel piles at Gellibrand Pier Oil Berth. Works were completed around shipping movements and required significant co-ordination between Mobil, Port of Melbourne, shipping companies and other contractors. The works included the installation of Denso pile protection and pile strengthening systems to over 180 piles and the installation of over 10ton of anodes welded to piles.

Shell Geelong Appleton Dock Robinvale Loch 13 As a Shell Diving Centre of Excellence approved supplier, Professional Diving Services have been supplying diving services to the Geelong Oil Refinery for over a decade. Professional Diving Services was selected by Shell International above all other companies in Australia and extensively audited for compliance to not only Australian onshore diving compliance but also International Offshore Oil & Gas Producers. Professional Diving Services became the first company in Australia to hold this accreditation and works at the facility are ongoing. Cotter Dam In partnership with Fitzgerald Constructions, Professional Diving Services secured at its time the largest pile rehabilitation project attempted at one time of any wharf in Australia. Over 1,300 timber piles were rehabilitated by means of pile protection, pile strengthening or pile replacement systems. Denso Seashield systems were used and for them this project also formed one of the largest single supply contracts to date. The project quantity increased by a third from the onset and the project was still completed on time and without variation. Port Maintenance Contract Professional Diving Services were initially contracted by Built Environs and then later MacDow to complete the underwater component of the Robinvale Loch 13 refurbishment project. The project, working around high and low water flow periods, commenced in 2010 and was completed in early 2014 and involved the placement of 32, 2ton and 30m long stainless steel support straps. Each strap was fixed with 36, M24 stainless studs being drilled and set 250mm into the concrete apron and bolted down. Falls Creek As a supplier to Bulk Water Alliance, Professional Diving Services provided remote operated vehicle (ROV) and diving services for the inspection and repair to the dam wall at Cotter Dam. The ROV was used to locate the defects in the dam wall and identify location and size for later repair. Professional Diving Services dive crews working to depths of 50m used hot water suits and completed surface decompression for this project to increase diver safety. Divers worked on the cracks in the wall injecting epoxy resin to flow through the gaps and seal the leaks. For over twenty years Professional Diving Services have been the main supplier of commercial diving services and underwater solutions to the Port of Melbourne Corporation. The services provided have ensured that Professional Diving Services maintain an intimate knowledge of port structures. Works include structure and pile inspections, condition assessments, ongoing maintenance, upgrades, urgent construction and demolition works and providing a 24 hour on call service for Port emergencies. The snow making pumps at Falls Creek don t go without routine maintenance and breakdown repair works and as a regular support to the Australian snow season, the Professional Diving Services crew are not unfamiliar with having to break through the ice and work beneath to change or repair pumps. At zero degrees Celsius and ice overhead this makes for one of our most interesting and memorable projects.
