Term One Begins Feb 29th, March 1st, 2nd & 3rd (All gym groups) The Berri Barmera Council s grant application for the National Stronger Regions Fund was successful winning over $3.5 Million dollars for the Berri Sports Stadium project. The project has now gone out to tender and will close at the end of January. The BDYC will continue to raise funds during 2016 for the gymnastics equipment needed for our new gymnasium. Our Vision is that the Berri District Youth Club Inc. is recognised within the community for developing gymnastics as the best physical and personal activity for the youth in the area. Our Mission is to provide the opportunities for all members regardless of sex, race or ability to develop their involvement, skill level and personal satisfaction in their chosen sport.

Brand SA Awards The BDYC won the 2015 Sports award and was a finalist in the Community Group award. Well done to all our coaches, committee and gymnasts. Coaches Corner New Qualifications Congratulations to Blake Hampel and Amanda Rodden who completed their Beginners Face to face coaches course in Adelaide recently. Riverland Sports Awards Congratulations to Carolyn Martin who was a finalist in this year s John Ormsby Coach of the Year award. Carolyn is the coach in charge of the Diamonds B, Platinums and Helsinki Troupes. She was also coach, choreographer and gymnast for our team of 16 gymnasts who represented Australia at the 2015 World Gymnaestrada. Well done Carolyn!! Coaches/Committee Lunch Thirty three people attended our Club Lunch held at the Berri Hotel Café. They enjoyed a lovely meal and received their end of year gifts. Junior/Trainee Coaches All Junior coaches are required to undergo a Beginners coaches course once they turn 14 years old. More information will be available at the 2016 Term One coaches club workshop. Trility Donation A Huge Thank you to Trility who donated a whooping $7,030 to our club after holding a golf day raffle last term. The funds will be used towards the purchase of an Air-Track that will be set up ready for members to use next year. The track is imported from Europe by Airtrack Australia and is used for Tumbling, Acrobatics and Cheerleading. It will also be utilised in our club displays and performances.

Riverland Wine and Food Festival Thank you to Peter, Isabella, Michael, Jane, Karen and Kathy who put in an awesome effort representing the club at the festival. They cleaned up after 2,500 people on the day and made over $800 towards our New Clubrooms project. Well done!! Thank you also to Kelly Wright of Chilli Chocolate Marketing who gave the club the opportunity to raise funds and promote our club for the third year in a row. Australian Masters Gymnastics Championships Congratulations to our Senior Gymnasts who competed in the 2015 Australian Masters Gymnastics Championships in Adelaide on October 10th. They brought home a swag of individual apparatus medals including these overall results. Gymnaestrada Fundraising (Austria-2019) Holiday program Thank you to Nippy s for supplying the juice and milk drinks for our holiday fundraiser. Twenty four children participated and enjoyed an hour in the gym with our qualified coaches, drinks and snacks and a free movie. Berri Lions Club Calendars A big thank you to the members who have already sold calendars. Thank you to Peter, Jane, Levi and Joey & Juliet Haenen who sold calendars at the Winkie Primary School celebrations while cooking the BBQ and selling drinks for our club. Calendars for our Foam Pit We still have 75 calendars remaining and lots of outstanding order forms. Please contact Jane McFarlane ph: 0400 179 899 to collect your calendars asap. All proceeds will go towards the Foam Training Pit in our new clubrooms. Schools Program A big thank you to coaches Karen, Michael, Jane, Jody and Kathy who come in during the day to coach for our Schools Gymnastics Program. Approximately 200 students from Berri Primary School participated in Term 4 this year. Winkie Primary School also enjoyed two lessons at the club. If you would like your school to be part of our schools program next year see your sports teacher.

Renmark Christmas Pageant Well done to the 20 members who braved the heat to participate in this year s pageant. A big thank you to Ian McFarlane for driving his truck/trailer and setting up the float. Thank you also to Jai Thomson for helping Karen supervise on the float. Best Dressed-Alyssa McKenzie Kindergym Christmas Party 50 people attended the end of year Kindergym break-up with a special morning tea and a visit from Father Christmas.
