Reynaldo López is scheduled to start for the Sox, who are tied for the fourth-best record in the American League since 7/11. The White Sox went 3-4 on their last trip from 7/20-26, losing two of three at Seattle and splitting a four-game set at the Angels. Chicago owns the third-worst record in MLB ahead of Kansas City (31-71,.304) and Baltimore (29-74,.282). Following this series vs. the Blue Jays and Monday's off day, Chicago will conclude the homestand vs. Kansas City (7/31-8/2). The White Sox went 3-2 on their last homestand vs. St. Louis (1-1) and the Royals (2-1) from 7/10-15. TONIGHT'S STORYLINES Chicago has won three of the last four games, six of the last nine and seven of 11 at Guaranteed Rate Field the Sox have scored 62 runs (5.6 R/G) during the 11-game span. The White Sox are hitting.304 (181-596) with 24 homers and 90 runs scored in the last 17 home games vs. Toronto (5.3 R/G). The Sox have homered in six consecutive games (11 homers total) they hit one home run in fi ve of the contests. Chicago starters own a 7.24 ERA (22 ER/27.1 IP) with seven homers allowed in the last fi ve games by contrast, the group surrendered just one earned run in the previous three contests. José Abreu is 8-20 (.400) with one double, three home runs, six RBI, three walks and a 1.378 OPS in his last fi ve games he was 5-47 (.106) with a.378 OPS in his previous 14 contests. Avisaíl García has hit 10 home runs over his last 19 games since 6/26, the second-most homers in MLB during that span. ROSTER MOVES The White Sox today recalled RHP Thyago Vieira from Class AAA Charlotte, purchased the contract of RHP Tyler Danish from Charlotte and designated RHP Chris Volstad for assignment. Vieira was 0-4 with a 5.05 ERA (23 ER/41.0 IP), six saves and 50 strikeouts in 36 relief outings with Charlotte he averaged 11.0 SO/9.0 IP and limited righties to a.198 (17-86) average. Danish has gone 1-3 with a 3.06 ERA (22 ER/64.2 IP), 46 strikeouts and a.230 (55-230) opp. average over 29 games (two starts) with the Knights in 2018 (1.04 ERA in July). LAST NIGHT'S RECAP The White Sox suffered a 12-8 loss at the Los Angeles Angels despite hitting a season-high matching six home runs. José Abreu (fi rst inning) and Daniel Palka (second) hit early home runs before the Angels took a 6-2 lead into the seventh. The two teams combined to score 12 runs over the fi nal three frames the Sox hit three homers in the seventh, solo shots by Avisaíl García, Palka and Nicky Delmonico Abreu added a solo shot in the ninth. Dylan Covey suffered his sixth loss after allowing six runs on nine hits, including two homers, over 4.2 IP Chicago's bullpen surrendered six runs on six hits and three walks in 3.1 IP. Abreu recorded his 13th career multihomer game, and Palka his second Abreu's three RBI were his most since 7/1. HOMER (NOT SO) HAPPY The White Sox connected on a season-high matching six home runs in yesterday's loss at the Angels the Sox also hit six in a 14-7 win at Kansas City on Opening Day. Prior to 2018, the last time Chicago hit six-plus homers was 6/25/16 vs. Toronto (10-8 loss). The White Sox are the only team in MLB to lose multiple games in which they hit six or more home runs. HEADED TO THE HALL Jim Thome, the White Sox special assistant to the General Manager, will be inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. on Sunday Thome's class also includes Vladimir Guerrero, Trevor Hoffman, Chipper Jones, Jack Morris, Jim Thome and Alan Trammell. The induction ceremony begins at 12:30 CT on MLB Network. WHITE SOX VS. TORONTO Toronto leads the season series, 2-1 the Blue Jays own a 21-11 edge in runs scored in 2018. Chicago is hitting.245/.333/.480 with seven home runs and owns a 6.84 ERA (19 ER/25.0 IP) with one quality start. The White Sox have won four of the last seven games and 12 of 17 the club is 13-9 at Guaranteed Rate Field since 2012. The Sox and Jays split the 2017 series Chicago is 5-0-1 in the last six season series (27-18 overall) the six-season unbeaten streak against Toronto is the longest in club history. RHP Dane Dunning (66) and OF Blake Rutherford (91) also made MLB.com's Top 100 list. STOLEN BASE STOLEN BASE! Tim Anderson (21), Adam Engel (11) and Leury García (10), Yoán Moncada (10) and Yolmer Sánchez (10) have all stolen 10 or more bases for the White Sox this season. The Sox are the only team in MLB this season with fi ve players to record double-digits in stolen bases the last time fi ve or more Chicago players recorded 10-plus stolen bases was 2005 (Dye, Harris, Iguchi, Ozuna, Podsednik, Rowand). PILING UP CROOKED NUMBERS Yoán Moncada has recorded 19 doubles, fi ve triples, 13 home runs and 43 RBI in 94 games this season. He joins Javier Báez, Cody Bellinger, Andrew Benintendi, Corey Dickerson, Teoscar Hernández, Trevor Story and Chris Taylor as the only MLB players to record 15-plus doubles, fi veplus triples, 10-plus homers and 40-plus RBI this season. BARRELING BACKSTOPS Omar Narváez and Kevan Smith are hitting a combined.343 (61-178) with nine doubles, three home runs, 26 RBI and 19 multihit efforts in 51 games since 6/1 (hit safely in 41 contests). Narváez (1st,.393) and Smith (5th,.298) rank among the MLB catching leaders in average since 6/1 (min. 85 plate apps.). Narváez owns 12 multihit efforts and has hit safely in 20 games since 6/1 Smith has hit safely in 21 of his 25 games in 2018 since being recalled from Class AAA Charlotte on 6/5. Narváez is 13-31 (.419) with two doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and a 1.132 OPS over his last nine games. POWER AND SPEED Tim Anderson (14 HR/career-high 21 SB) is one of four players in MLB this season with 14-plus home runs and 20-plus stolen bases (also Starling Marte, José Ramírez and Mike Trout). Anderson is on pace for 22 homers and 33 steals in 2018 he is looking to become the third White Sox to record a 20+ HR/30+ SB season, joining Alex Rios (2010) and Tommie Agee (1966).
