During Lent each one of our classes will have a class retreat, led by Dr. Leveque, Megan Dominici (St. Apollinaris Youth Ministry Director) and our Peace Partner ambassadors. Our intention is to encourage students to embrace differences within each other. Our differences make us special and each person should be recognized as such. Next Tuesday is our State of the School and Mercy meeting at 6pm in the parish hall. We will also have a Mercy meeting to discuss the Gala and March Madness. If you have signed up to help with either event, regardless of your completion of parent hours, please honor your commitment. We need

Basketball News The 5 th and 6 th grade basketball season is in the home stretch!! The 5 th grade boys played Saint John Healdsburg last Saturday, and the first half was tough in terms of scoring for our boys. With the opponent up as many as 16 points, the boys completely turned things around in the second half, out playing the other team on both ends of the court. They brought the game two within 3 baskets, and played hard to the finish. This team has really improved and looks to be a strong contender heading into the end of the season. The 6th grade boys improved their league record to 4-1 by defeating St. Francis on Saturday and St. Helena Catholic on Monday night. In one of the more exciting games the boys have played this season, they erased a 6 point deficit with less then 3 minutes to go to force overtime. They ended up trading baskets in the first of two overtimes and then pulled away from St. Francis in the 2nd overtime. Cole sealed the game with a free throw with less then 10 seconds to go while JT Lopez and Lucas added 6 apiece in both overtimes. JT Lopez lead all scorers with 22 points while Lucas and Steven had 8 apiece. In the Monday night game the Shamrocks pulled away from St. Helena for a 41 to 22 victory. JT Lopez again lead all scorers with 16 while Steven added 6, Jared 5, Josh and Ryan 4 points apiece. They face cross town rival St. John's Napa on Saturday at 9:00 at Justin Siena.

9 Shamrock Newsletter The 6 th grade girls continue to fight in every game. Victory has been hard to capture, but each week they improve their play. In this last game, the girls shot the ball more often, which is one of their goals. They are winning every game in terms of effort and enthusiasm way to go girls! The 5 th grade girls continue their great play with another victory last Saturday. They had strong scoring, led by Sarah Reynolds and Isabella Wright. The girls are gaining confidence as a team, and look forward to a big finish to their season. YOUTH MINISTRY A SPECIAL PRESENTATION OF THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS Youth Ministry puts on a very special presentation of the Stations of the Cross during Lent each year! This presentation will take place this Wednesday, Feb. 25th at 7pm in the church. It is a beautiful demonstration through songs, stories, videos, and skits of how we live out the way of the Cross in our own lives everyday! I invite all middle school and high school students and their parents (and grandparents) to join us. This is in place of our Confirmation meeting this week! What a beautiful way to start your Lenten journey!
