This music should be cut to correct time limit. There should be no swearing or inappropriate language. The music should be balanced at a set level for playing, the DJ will make no adjustments on the day for sound (if you need more information or help with this on this then please contact us).
Team Judging: Teams are judged on the following criteria: Variety 1. Portrayal & execution of the styles. 2. Variety of styles used Musicality & creativity 3. Interpretation of different beats & phrasing 4. Creativity & originality of ideas Choreography 5. Difficulty level of choreography 6. Overall use of stage and use of smooth transitions. Presentation 7. Enthusiasm, energy, confidence 8. Routine execution and perfection Judges will grade per section using the following scale: 1-2= below average 3-4 = average 5-6 = good 7-8 = very good 9- = excellent Please note 0.25, 0.5 & 0.75 can also be used. Penalties will be used for the following: Obscenities or inappropriate language in music = L Inappropriate costume for age category = C Inappropriate movement for age category = M Music over stated time = T One point per Judge per penalty will be deducted for the above rule breaks. These will be monitored and allocated by the head judge. These marks will be deducted before the Team is placed.
How the Team Judging Works: Each Judge will mark all sections of the judging sheet using the scale system above. The highest and lowest judge s marks for each section will be removed from the scores. The total score left will then be divided by the amount of judges left (the average) i.e if there are 5 judges and the high and low are removed then that leaves 3 judges marks, so the total will be divided by 3. Any deductions will now be taken off before the score is used for your placement. Please see example below: Team A SECTION JUDGE A B C D E TOTAL 1 5.50 6.00 6.25 5.25 5.75 17.50 2 7.25 6.75 8.50 8.75 7.00 22.75 3 8.00 7.25 7.50 8.25 8.00 23.50 4 7.50 7.75 7.00 6.75 8.00 22.25 5 6.75 7.25 8.25 7.75 8.00 23.00 6 9.00 7.75 8.50 8.75 9.25 26.25 7 4.75 5.00 5.75 6.00 6.25 16.75 8 5.25 6.50 6.75 7.00 5.75 19.00 Team B SECTION JUDGE A B C D E TOTAL 1 6.00 7.00 7.25 4.75 6.25 19.50 2 7.75 8.00 8.50 9.25 8.25 24.75 3 6.75 6.00 6.50 7.25 7.00 20.25 4 8.00 8.25 8.25 7.75 9.00 24.50 5 6.75 7.50 8.50 7.50 8.00 23.00 6 8.00 7.75 8.25 8.75 9.50 25.00 7 5.50 5.75 8.00 6.50 6.25 18.50 8 4.75 7.00 6.75 8.25 6.25 20.00 TOTAL Divided by Judges Penalities 171.00 57 0 TOTAL Divided by Judges Penalities 175.50 58.5-5 Team Mark for Place 57 Team Mark for Place 53.5 Therefore marks for Team A being 57 and Team B 53.5 so Team A comes first and Team B comes 2 nd.
UK Qualifications: How to Qualify for World and European Championships: Teams The Top five placed teams in each division (Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) for each age category (under, under 14, under 18 and over 18) at any UDO Regional Qualifying events will qualify to compete at The UDO World Championships. The 1 st and 2 nd placed teams in the Intermediate and Advanced divisions will qualify for the European championships Solos The top 5 placed soloists in any division (Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) for each age category (under 6, under 8, under, under 12, under 14, under 16 and over 16) will qualify to compete at the UDO World Championships. The 1 st and 2 nd placed soloist in the Intermediate and Advanced divisions will qualify for the European championships. Duos The top 5 placed duos in any division (Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) for each age category (under 6, under 8, under, under 12, under 14, under 16 and over 16) will qualify to compete at the UDO World Championships. The 1 st and 2 nd placed duo in the Intermediate and Advanced divisions will qualify for the European championships. Teams / Dancers will be permitted to dance in the latest division they qualified in. For example if a team goes to an event and comes first in Novice, they will then need to move up to Intermediate for the future events, if during any other UDO qualifying event they compete at before Worlds they do not place in the intermediate section then they will be permitted to enter and dance in Novice section for Worlds, as this would be the latest category they qualified in. If however the team competes at another UDO qualifying event before Worlds, they will dance in Intermediate, and if they place they will then need to compete in the Intermediate category at Worlds, as this would then be the latest category they qualified in (The same system applies to Europeans). This criteria also applies to Solo and Duos. Please note: You will only be permitted to dance at Worlds or Europeans if you have qualified. A list will be created within the UDO Head office and this will show where you qualified and the age and division that you qualified in. You will be asked to confirm your registration for Worlds and Europeans closer to the event via an online form.
