Team Rules / Guidelines: General: Each team must consist of a minimum of 5 dancers and a maximum of 26. Dancers are only permitted to dance for one team only during a competition. It is the Choreographer / Dance Teachers responsibility to ensure that the Team is registered before the specified closing date and in correct age division and category as outlined below. Team entries for all competitions must be submitted online via the relevant events page no later than 7 days before a regional competition and 14 days before the British, European and World championships. Any changes or questions must be asked or submitted before the date that the registration is due to close. There will be NO late registrations accepted and NO registrations on the day of event! Any queries or questions in regards to team should only asked by the choreographer / Dance teacher only. Age divisions & Category Levels: There are 4 age divisions within the team sections, they are: o Under s o Under 14 s o Under 18 s o Over 18 s A minimum of 75% of the competing team must be within the age division they are competing in. The team are allowed to have a maximum of 25% are allowed to be older. However they can only be older up to the next age division. i.e. if you had 12 dancers in your under 14 team, 9 dancers would have to be under 13 years of age, 3 dancers could be older either 14, 15, 16 OR 17 years of age. THEY WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE DANCERS OVER THE AGE OF 18.

Each age division is also split into category levels, these are: Beginner: This category is open to all dancers that have never competed in a UDO Street Dance competition. Teams are permitted to compete in this division until they win with 5 or more teams in their category or they place twice (from 2 nd to 5 th ) with 8 or more teams in their category. Once this is achieved the Team will move up to Novice. Music length is 2 minutes No more than 50% of team dancers can be above beginner / Novice level in solo and duos. Novice: This category is open to all dancers that have never competed in a UDO Street Dance competition but wish to start at a novice level. Once a team has danced at this level they are not permitted to drop back down to beginner level, even if they move up an age division. Once this is achieved the team will move up to Intermediate. Teams are permitted to compete in this division until they win with 5 or more teams in their category or they place twice (from 2 nd to 5 th ) with 8 or more teams in their category Music length is 2 minutes Intermediate: This category is open to all dancers that have never competed in a UDO Street Dance competition but wish to start at an Intermediate level. Once a team has danced at this level they are not permitted to drop back down to Intermediate until they move up an age division, or if they have never been placed within 1 year they can send a request to the UDO committee for consideration. Teams are permitted to compete in this division until they win with 5 or more teams in their category or they place twice (from 2 nd to 5 th ) with 8 or more teams in their category Music length is 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Advanced: This category is open to all dancers that have never competed in a UDO Street Dance competition but wish to start at an Advanced level. Once a team has danced at this level they are not permitted to drop back down to Intermediate until they move up an age division, or if they have never been placed within 1 year they can send a request to the UDO committee for consideration. Music length is 2 minutes 30 seconds. These category levels will be offered at an event provided there is at least 7 teams in that category, if at the close of team registrations there are less than 7 per category then the UDO may combine the categories. Conduct: Dancers cannot touch the judges. Props are permitted providing they are not dangerous and can be cleared from the dance floor immediately after your performance. (No talc, glitter, water must be thrown down on to the stage!) Team outfits must be age appropriate No inappropriate movement / gestures Music: It is the Choreographer / Dance teacher s responsibility to ensure that the team music is brought to the competition on a CD. This music should be cut to correct time limit. There should be no swearing or inappropriate language. The music should be balanced at a set level for playing, the DJ will make no adjustments on the day for sound (if you need more information or help with this on this then please contact us).

Team Judging: Teams are judged on the following criteria: Variety 1. Portrayal & execution of the styles. 2. Variety of styles used Musicality & creativity 3. Interpretation of different beats & phrasing 4. Creativity & originality of ideas Choreography 5. Difficulty level of choreography 6. Overall use of stage and use of smooth transitions. Presentation 7. Enthusiasm, energy, confidence 8. Routine execution and perfection Judges will grade per section using the following scale: 1-2= below average 3-4 = average 5-6 = good 7-8 = very good 9- = excellent Please note 0.25, 0.5 & 0.75 can also be used. Penalties will be used for the following: Obscenities or inappropriate language in music = L Inappropriate costume for age category = C Inappropriate movement for age category = M Music over stated time = T One point per Judge per penalty will be deducted for the above rule breaks. These will be monitored and allocated by the head judge. These marks will be deducted before the Team is placed.

How the Team Judging Works: Each Judge will mark all sections of the judging sheet using the scale system above. The highest and lowest judge s marks for each section will be removed from the scores. The total score left will then be divided by the amount of judges left (the average) i.e if there are 5 judges and the high and low are removed then that leaves 3 judges marks, so the total will be divided by 3. Any deductions will now be taken off before the score is used for your placement. Please see example below: Team A SECTION JUDGE A B C D E TOTAL 1 5.50 6.00 6.25 5.25 5.75 17.50 2 7.25 6.75 8.50 8.75 7.00 22.75 3 8.00 7.25 7.50 8.25 8.00 23.50 4 7.50 7.75 7.00 6.75 8.00 22.25 5 6.75 7.25 8.25 7.75 8.00 23.00 6 9.00 7.75 8.50 8.75 9.25 26.25 7 4.75 5.00 5.75 6.00 6.25 16.75 8 5.25 6.50 6.75 7.00 5.75 19.00 Team B SECTION JUDGE A B C D E TOTAL 1 6.00 7.00 7.25 4.75 6.25 19.50 2 7.75 8.00 8.50 9.25 8.25 24.75 3 6.75 6.00 6.50 7.25 7.00 20.25 4 8.00 8.25 8.25 7.75 9.00 24.50 5 6.75 7.50 8.50 7.50 8.00 23.00 6 8.00 7.75 8.25 8.75 9.50 25.00 7 5.50 5.75 8.00 6.50 6.25 18.50 8 4.75 7.00 6.75 8.25 6.25 20.00 TOTAL Divided by Judges Penalities 171.00 57 0 TOTAL Divided by Judges Penalities 175.50 58.5-5 Team Mark for Place 57 Team Mark for Place 53.5 Therefore marks for Team A being 57 and Team B 53.5 so Team A comes first and Team B comes 2 nd.

UK Qualifications: How to Qualify for World and European Championships: Teams The Top five placed teams in each division (Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) for each age category (under, under 14, under 18 and over 18) at any UDO Regional Qualifying events will qualify to compete at The UDO World Championships. The 1 st and 2 nd placed teams in the Intermediate and Advanced divisions will qualify for the European championships Solos The top 5 placed soloists in any division (Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) for each age category (under 6, under 8, under, under 12, under 14, under 16 and over 16) will qualify to compete at the UDO World Championships. The 1 st and 2 nd placed soloist in the Intermediate and Advanced divisions will qualify for the European championships. Duos The top 5 placed duos in any division (Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) for each age category (under 6, under 8, under, under 12, under 14, under 16 and over 16) will qualify to compete at the UDO World Championships. The 1 st and 2 nd placed duo in the Intermediate and Advanced divisions will qualify for the European championships. Teams / Dancers will be permitted to dance in the latest division they qualified in. For example if a team goes to an event and comes first in Novice, they will then need to move up to Intermediate for the future events, if during any other UDO qualifying event they compete at before Worlds they do not place in the intermediate section then they will be permitted to enter and dance in Novice section for Worlds, as this would be the latest category they qualified in. If however the team competes at another UDO qualifying event before Worlds, they will dance in Intermediate, and if they place they will then need to compete in the Intermediate category at Worlds, as this would then be the latest category they qualified in (The same system applies to Europeans). This criteria also applies to Solo and Duos. Please note: You will only be permitted to dance at Worlds or Europeans if you have qualified. A list will be created within the UDO Head office and this will show where you qualified and the age and division that you qualified in. You will be asked to confirm your registration for Worlds and Europeans closer to the event via an online form. For a list of qualifying events for the UK please see: http://www.udostreetdance.com/events/
