Pepperell Ski and Snowboard Program Overview Skiing and snowboarding Wachusett Mountain Ski Area Open to students grades 5 12 About 100 students participate 6 Friday evenings, January 5 th to February 9 th Make-up day Feb 16th Busses depart from Nissitissitt Middle School and North Middlesex Regional High School at 2:30pm Arrive at Wachusett around 3:30pm Return to Nissitissitt Middle School between 8:45pm and 9:00pm Leave Wachusett at 8pm
Ski Day Thursday A.M.: Email sent with updates or if skiing is cancelled Cancellation also announced at school Thursday morning Friday Morning: Drop off equipment at NMS and NMRHS before school starts Storage in designated area Chaperone present to supervise When school is dismissed: Students get their equipment from storage and board the busses NMRHS students need to wait about 15 minutes for the bus NMS students board busses immediately Ski Lift Badges handed out on the bus Nissittissit Drop Off High School Drop Off
Wachusett Mountain Ski Area Wachusett Mountain Ski Area - Princeton, MA 1,000 feet Vertical Drop, 6 lifts, 22 Trails Terrain Park with jumps, rails, bumps, etc Park Pass required - $5 one-time fee Ski, Snowboard, and Helmet rentals available from Wachusett Season rentals also available from Zimmerman s and Ken Jones in Nashua for $120 - $200 1 hour lessons available Generally a good idea for beginners Same class / instructor each week Students are free to ski independently Chaperones do not lead groups Students must be responsible for themselves, their equipment, and to ask the chaperones for help when needed Chaperones are always available at our designated table in the Granite Room
At The End Of The Night Busses will be ready for boarding at 7:45pm Depart promptly at 8pm Please put your child s name and Pepperell on their clothing and equipment in case they are lost Helmets, gloves, goggles, and bags are lost most often If you are picking up your child instead of taking the bus you must: Send an email the day before or give a note to the chaperone Fri morning Stop by the chaperone table in the lodge to confirm before 7:30pm 10 minute parking spaces available near door Must confirm before 7:30pm we cannot leave a student alone at Wachusett after our designated departure time Students can stay longer with a parent, but the Student Lift Badge expires at 8pm See the coordinator to purchase a discounted night ticket valid to 10pm Ski Lift Badges collected on bus ride home Busses arrive at Nissitissit between 8:45pm and 9:00pm School will be closed and we ll be waiting outside please be on time
Chaperones We have about 1 chaperone for every 10 students (about 11 chaperones total) All chaperones are CORI through the Town Responsibilities: When the students get on the bus: help the students stow their equipment, take attendance, and distribute ski passes At Wachusett: Chaperones are always available at the Chaperone Table in the Lodge to help students Chaperones do not lead groups skiing At the end of the night: help the students stow their equipment, take attendance, and collect ski passes Wachusett Base Lodge Chaperone table in the Granite Rm Ski Check (highly recommended) 10 minute parking / bus drop off

If you have 2 participants you will need to complete the on-line registration twice Ski, Snowboard, and Helmet rentals available from Wachusett Jr. season rentals (5 th, 6 th grade) also available from Zimmerman s and Ken Jones in Nashua starting at $120 Parents of participants can also use the online form to purchase Season Passes. Lift Passes 6-week lift pass or a Century Pass is needed for the program The 6-week pass is valid for the 6 Friday nights of the program Century Passes are valid for skiing other days in addition to the 6 Friday nights of the program. Pass/Badge Insurance Plan (Optional): If the Insurance Plan is purchased and the student drops out of the Ski Program for any reason, a cash refund will be issued, pro-rated for the number of skiing days remaining. Without the Insurance Plan, a transferable Wachusett Mountain credit will be given, pro-rated for the number of skiing days remaining. Any refund or credit does not include the bus fee.
Additional Information Absentee Credit: If a student misses a ski day, they will receive an $20 transferable coupon to be used for a ticket, lesson, or rental at another time. Ski Store Discounts: Zimmerman's: Discount on such items as clothing, equipment, accessories, and services (ski tuning etc).
