U LUNCH HAUPPAUGE MIDDLE SCHOOL DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS Friday, May 19, 2017 Day 1 WILL BE: OUTDOORS Good morning Hauppauge Middle School! Please stop what you are doing and rise so that we can pay proper respect to our nation and the Pledge of Allegiance. If you are in the Fl hallway, please stop and remain where you are until the announcements are completed. Wellness Wakeup Call A great breakfast or snack for quick energy and protein boost is an apple with nut butter. Either fill a cored apple with nut butter, or slice an apple and dip it nut butter. Happy Birthday! Zachary W, Jacob A, Abigail S, Rudolph C, McKenzie S, Simona I, Jason S, Alexandra K, Alina G, Sophia S, TRIATHLON: All students who will be participating in the Hauppauge Triathlon. There will be a free swim practice at the HS pool from 6:15pm -7:00pm on TODAY Join us to improve your swim skills with the help of our swim coaches. See Mrs. Pacileo if you have questions. GLIDER CLUB Will meet TODAY after school from 3:00 5:00 SPLISH SPLASH TRIP (8 th graders): permission slips must be returned by June 2 nd. No permission slips will be accepted after that date. BOYS AND GIRLS TRACK BOYS: The team defeated Elwood on Wednesday The 4x100 meter relay team of Alex a, Andy V, Brandon T and Martine M sealed the win with their first place finish in the last event. In addition to the relay, Martine also won the 400 and the long jump, while Brandon won the 100 and Alex won the 200. Other individual winners were James M in the triple jump, Cooper M in the hurdles and Jack S in the 55. GIRLS: The team defeated Elwood on Wednesday in a dramatic fashion. The medley relay of team of Samantha S Madison T Lily O and Meghan B came from behind to tie Ellwood in the last event to preserve the victory. The 4x100 relay team of Skylar S, Samara S, Julia S and Ravie M won their race in decisive fashion. Individual winners for Hauppauge were Ravae M in the 55, Megan M in the 400, Skylar S in the 100k, Lily O in the 1500 and Samantha S in the 800 The Hauppauge Baseball team now has a record of 7-1 beating Elwood Middle School. LJR. earned the win pitching 5 and 2/3 innings with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks while allowing just 1 earned run. The offense was led by Chris L who had 3 hits including 2 doubles, 3 stolen bases, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI s. Hauppauge s record now stands at 3 wins 2 losses. The team will look to add to the win column today against Finley Middle School T SHIRT CONTEST. 8th graders, consider submitting an entry for our anual SPLISH SPLASH T-Shirt Design contest. All entries mube be sbmitted to Mrs. Pacileo TODAY!!!

HAUPPAUGE TRIATHLON: Takes place at the HS Saturday June 3rd for all students grade 5 through 8. If you would like to participate in this lifetime fitness event, plesae see Mrs. Pacileo for a registration form. Congratulations to Abby C Who is the WINNER OF JUSTIN BIEBER concert tickets on August 23rd House. Here is what he as to say to us: Try not to become a man of success, But rather try to become a man of value. Today, remember each and every one of us is a valuable human being. We all want to be successful, but it is more important to focus on values, and when you have values and contribute to the world this s will lead to a successful life. ANY STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PLAYING A SPORT, REGARDLESS OF THE SEASON, MUST HAVE A CURRENT PHYSICAL (WITHIN 1 YEAR) ON FILE. IN ADDITION, A PERMISSION SLIP FOR EACH SEASON IS REQUIRED. BOTH OF THESE FORMS CAN BE FOUND ON THE DISTRICT WEB SITE. PLEASE REMEMBER TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PAPERWORK IN A TIMELY FASHION. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRY OUT/PLAY IF THIS PAPERWORK IS NOT IN ORDER. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, GETTING A PHYSICAL IN JUNE OR OVER THE SUMMER CAN HELP EXPEDITE THIS PROCESS. PHYSICALS ARE OFFERED BOTH AT THE M.S. AND THE H.S. OVER THE SUMMER MONTHS. REMEMBER TO PLAN AHEAD! PLEASE CONTACT THE NURSE S OFFICE WITH ANY QUESTIONS. Academic integrity is critical to the process of learning. In order for us to learn and grow as students and people in general, we must present our own work and our own

ideas. Cheating, whether it be on a test, a research paper, or a Castle Learning assignment will not be tolerated. Instances of cheating will have consequences! LOCKERS ARE ONLY TO BE DECORATED IN THE MORNING. A pass should be obtained from the hall monitor in the main hallway. Make sure when decorating not to cover any part that would make the locker difficult to open. Remember there is no cell phone use during the day. If you are sick, please go to the nurse. If you need to make a phone call you may do so in the main office. Cell phones can and will be confiscated. The Hauppauge school district has a safe school helpline that can be used to report any unsafe at-risk situations 24 hours a day: 548-8232 Bottles and Cans should be recycled in the Blue container in the cafeteria. Be sure to follow the dress code! Please refer to the Hauppauge school district Code of Conduct for details. ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO TREAT OUR BUILDING AND EVERYTHING IN IT WITH RESPECT. WE MUST TAKE CARE OF OUR SCHOOL PROPERTY.
