Lloydminster Comprehensive High School (LCHS) is proud to be the host of the girls & boys championship, which will be held at Lloydminster Comprehensive High School Gymnasium and at additional venues; E.S. Laird School (E.S), Lakeland College Gymnasium (LLC). We hope you enjoy your weekend of great volleyball, team play and sportsmanship on and off the court. Opening Ceremonies: All teams are to be in their groups dressed in team apparel and ready for opening ceremonies by 8:00am on Thursday, November 20 at Lloydminster Comprehensive High School. Further instructions for opening ceremonies will be provided at the coaches meeting Wednesday, November 19, 2014. In order to enhance the players experience of the opening ceremonies teams are being asked to pass on the following requested items: School Logo 10 digital photos 1 or 2 video clips of action spanning 5 10 seconds in length Please email the opening ceremony items to adam.mcvey@lpsd.ca and aaron.canfield@lpsd.ca. Banquet Information: Attendance at the banquet is compulsory for all team members and coaches. Banquet tickets must be ordered online during the registration process by Monday, November 17 at 12:00 noon. The banquet is for athletes, coaches, managers and trainers (max is 20 tickets per team). The banquet will have a Hollywood Theme and the dress code is SEMI FORMAL. When booking hotel rooms please be aware that the hotels have various cut off dates. When contacting the hotels please indicate you are booking under the ASAA Provincial Volleyball Championships to ensure you receive the group rate offered. Rooms have only been blocked for teams. Any families wishing to book rooms must do so on their own and not take any of the blocked rooms away from the teams attending the provincial championships. Photographs & Action Shots: The ASAA requires all competing teams to have their pictures taken for the yearbook. Team Photographs: Photographs will be taken by Nicholas David Photography at Lloydminster Comprehensive High School on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 3:00 9:00pm in room 702. Christine Buhnai will be assisting with the management of them team photos. Each team will be scheduled a 15 minute time slot to have individual and team photos taken. Please check the website for your scheduled picture time. Teams are asked to be dressed in game uniforms for the pictures. We ask that you arrive early for your scheduled time. Players, coaches and parents can purchase an 8 x 10 team photos for $10.00. Action Shots: Nicholas David Photography will be located at all three venues throughout the weekend taking action photos of the teams. Teams and individual players will have the opportunity to purchase photos or keep sake items from Nicholas David Photography. Order forms will be distributed to coaches at the coaches meeting. Coaches Meeting: Additional Tournament Information There will be a coaches meeting on Wednesday, November 19 at 9:15 pm in the LCHS Band Room. Please ensure your team has one representative at this meeting to receive pertinent information regarding the provincial championships. Fees will also be collected at this time if not already paid online. The agenda will address tournament information, officiating, expectations, appeal procedures, facilities, banquet and opening ceremonies. Practice Times: We have pre- booked one hour practice times for each team, please check the website for details. Practice times will be available at Lloydminster Comprehensive High School (on side courts) Jack Kemp School and E.S. Laird School as Lakeland College Athletics will be using their venue Wednesday evening for ACAC play. Change Rooms/ Shower Facilities: Each venue will have change rooms and shower facilities for team use. Please be advised that LCHS will not be held responsible for lost or stolen articles. Please ensure all items are safely stored. Team rooms will not be provided. Change rooms can be used immediately prior to and following matches. Again, personal items should not be left in the change rooms unsecured.

Coaches & Officials Rooms: Each venue will have a hospitality room for coaches and officials throughout the championship. Our hospitality group has organized a variety of snacks, foods and beverages for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday draws. Please take time to enjoy the well planned hospitality rooms. Room locations will be shared at the coaches on Wednesday evening. Medical & First Aid: Cafeteria: Athletic assistance is the responsibility of each individual team. If there is a major injury, emergency services will be called. All coaches will be supplied with an Emergency Response Plan at the coaches meeting Wednesday night. Teams must bring their own medical supplies and do their own taping. First Aid Kits and Antiseptic Kits will be on location at each venue. A concession will only be available at LCHS for Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the championships. There are many food amenities in close proximity of the venues. Tournament Apparel: Gimmics will be providing the tournament apparel for players, coaches, and fans to purchase. Gimmics plans to set up their display at Lakeland College. Spectator Admission Rates & Programs: Spectators have the option to purchase a Day Pass or a Tournament Pass. The Day Pass will be valid at all three venues only for the day of purchase. The Tournament Pass is valid at all three venues for the entire weekend. Spectators must present their passes on entry of the venues. Laird School will be restricted to the street during school hours on Thursday and Friday. Please be respectful of the marked school bus zones in front of each school as this area must be kept clear of parked vehicles. Buses dropping players

of may do so in the bus zones but are asked not to remain parked in the zone. There are plenty of parking options at Lakeland College. No Smoking Campus Policy: All Schools are smoke- free facilities. Smoking by athletes, parents and spectators is prohibited anywhere on all campus grounds. Game Ball: Practice Balls: Game Rules & Information The official game ball is the Tachikara SV5W Gold (red, white and black) Volleyball. Teams are instructed to bring their own warm up balls that are clearly marked with their school logo or initials. Practice balls are to only be used on the court during warm ups. Minor Officials: Minor officials for each match will be provided by students of LCHS. The student volunteers will fulfill the scorekeeper and line judge duties. Please create a supportive atmosphere for them. Venue Rules/Policy & Expectations: It is incumbent upon all coaches and participants to be aware of ASAA Policy. Specifically for this event, player eligibility (pg 37-40), supervision policy (pg 43) and volleyball policy (pg 125-132). All competitions must be conducted with a high standard of courtesy, fair play and sportsmanship. All those involved share this responsibility. (ASAA Policy Handbook) Grievance Committee: The grievance committee will sit to deal with matters that occur during competition, including discipline/conduct issues or appeals that may arise from ejections. They will handle any other matters that arise that require dispute resolution. Members of the committee will include the tournament chairman, school administrator and an experienced member of our organizing committee. Please see ASAA policy handbook for procedures in issuing a grievance or appeal. Sportsmanship: Sportsmanship is vitally important and highly valued by the ASAA. A Sportsmanship Trophy will be awarded to the team that displays appropriate conduct & sportsmanship both individually and at a team level throughout the Championship. Pins will also be handed out throughout the Championship to individuals, coaches & spectators who display sportsmanship in their words & actions. A Sportsmanship Committee will be at each of the sites to select recipients of the ASAA s sportsmanship pin.

Sportsmanship Pin Award Discipline and Misconduct: Sportsmanship pins may be given to individuals who exhibit outstanding displays of integrity, fair play and good sportsmanship. Sportsmanship pins may be given to players, coaches, parents and spectators. Recipients of sportsmanship pins should show some or many of the following characteristics: Players should:! Conduct themselves in a positive nature/manner before, during and after the game! Offer positive feedback to opponents during the game! Shake hands before and after the game! Be courteous, polite and friendly! Show good sportsmanship during the game! Show concern, respect or empathy for an opponent Spectators should:! Consistently give positive feedback to players and others! Welcome opponents! Present positive comments before, during and after the game! Be helpful to others (i.e. willingly offer information about the game, score, scheduling, venue locations, etc. to onlookers) Breaches of the ASAA Code of Ethics are treated seriously, and as host, [we] are required to report any breaches to the ASAA office where action may occur. A portion of the ASAA Code of Ethics states, Any conduct, including, but not limited to ejections, fighting and drugs and alcohol use, that results in dishonor to the athlete, the team, the school or the ASAA will not be tolerated. Awards Ceremony: Awards Ceremony and medal presentations will take place after the Bronze Medal Match and after the Gold Medal Match. Only teams playing in the medal matches are required to take part in the ceremony. Medal presentations will take place at the venue where the match is played. Live Streaming: Games will be streamed live for people to access. More information to come.
