Perch Point conservation club JANUARY 2019 Hello Members! Hope all is well! I hope everyone had a very safe and Merry Christmas. I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year. Winter Carnival is coming up the 2nd weekend in January of 2019. Friday night we will have horse racing. Saturday and Sunday will feature the exotic zoo and a new midway for the kids starting at noon. Saturday night is a special entertainment night featuring a comedian and a hypnotist. The 50/50 tickets have been sent out for all 3 days. Tickets for the evening events and information are available at the club. We will be taking nominations for persons interested in running for the board or for any of the other positions at the January meeting. The elections will be held on the day of the February meeting. You may call in your vote if you cannot attend the meeting. Big Buck contest entrants must have their measurements done before the board meeting, Thursday, January 4th. News and Upcoming Events Sporting Clays: Scott Thompson - Shooting every other Sunday, next shoot Jan.13. Archery: Marvin Shankin -Jan. 8 in Pole Barn, open at 6pm, shooting at 7pm. Rifle/Pistol Range: Todd Allmond - There is erosion out there, Bart offered to help. Getting a price on lights by the range to clean up. Air Rifle League: The club will run a nine week session of the Lead Slingers Air Rifle League. Starts Wednesday, Jan.16 at 7:00 p.m. with an introduction/review and then begin shooting for scores. League will run on Wednesdays and finish with fun shoot and pizza dinner on March 13. No Charge to students. Open to the first 21 shooters (boys or girls, 10-16 years old) who sign up. Preference will be given to children of members. Equipment, t-shirts, and awards provided. Registration will close Monday, January 7. Building & Site: Siding, the guy that hung it is going to repair it. Conservation: There will be 3 professional painters that are going to paint the Youth Camp. NRA: They want to stop the ER Bill HR7115, buying of gun parts to make your own AR. Winter Festival: Need to sell 6-3 raffle tickets. We have GREAT prizes for the Midway. Fish dinners will be $9.00, there will not be any more AYCE Fish Dinners at PPCC. Selling Horses for the horse races. Let Us Entertain You $20 ticket includes 2 Complimentary Drinks. Exotic Zoo will feature Eurasian Eagle Owl, Lemur, Baboon, Kangaroo and Sunshine the Snake. Gun of the Month: Starts at January meeting. / Washington Life Center: PPCC is donating $300.00 to them. Election: We take nominations at January Membership meeting. Kid s Christmas Party: Sue E - was a BIG HIT! The auction made $2,058.00 50/50 made $350.00. Sue wants to give Santa a gift basket as he is retiring soon, and has been doing it for 15 years at no charge. Sue wants to just have a kids party and not adults with the auction. Banquet: Tim Golm - next meeting Jan. 7, 2019 at 7pm. All tickets need to be turned in to be in the early bird raffle by Jan 7th. Banquet is sold out and looks to be awesome. Any questions 810-335-1522. Big Buck Contest: You must be a member at PPCC when you or your child shoot your Buck. Contact Erich for measuring your deer. There are prizes for the top 5 Bucks, the smallest and & mystery Buck. Deadline is the Board Meeting in January, the first Thursday which is January 3rd. All prizes will be given out at the Membership Meeting in January. Cost is $0.00. Erich always has really nice prizes for the winners, must be measured before the Jan. 2019 board meeting. Call 586-549-3839. King of Diamonds: $5,750 as of Nov. meeting, Todd is taking suggestions on how to use the money, put your idea in writing and get to one of the Board members. Good & Welfare: Wes Sandbank s father died of asphyxiation, his son almost died and lost two days of memory. Freeman had an operation a few weeks ago and is doing well.

This is my last push to get the word out for Winter Festival. Feel free to make copies. The horse races are free admission and a lot of fun ($2.00 a bet). Let me entertain you night is brand new and at @ $20.00 a ticket for 3 hours entertainment plus 2 complimentary beverage is quite a deal. Call me for tickets please. Midway is brand new this year with better prizes and brand new games, thanks to our members who made some and Immaculate Conception Church who are letting us borrow some. Our Exotic Animal show is going to be exciting featuring an Eurasian Eagle Owl, Baboon, and yes that crazy Lemur is back. Shows starts at noon each day. Very important: Bottle drive for our Scouts will be going on all weekend, so bring your empties, the tub is outside by the garage.
