Competitors can ride one round only and must compete in their correct PC showjumping grade. Competitors are judged on their ability to execute a showjumping round that is obedient, balanced and flowing, displaying harmony between horse and rider. Judging should take into account the fluency of the jump, the horse s neatness in front and behind, looking for natural roundness over the fence rather than a flat, hollow jump, and style and position of the rider. Competitors are judged on presentation, leg position, eye contact, seat, hands, upper body, rhythm and tempo, control, approach and line, take-off. 4 penalties are given for knock-downs or 1 st disobedience, 8 penalties for 2 nd disobedience and elimination for 3 rd disobedience or a fall. Competitors receive the judge s scoresheet and comments at the end of the competition. The rider with the highest marks less jumping penalties is the winner.
