Carey Supplementary Report After receiving a report from the Racing Queensland Integrity Regulatory Unit team, trainer R. Drysdale was fined $100 for failing to keep an up to date treatment book. As A Best was to be overweight, S. Bogenhuber was substituted as the rider of Lemaitre in Race 2, and T. Treichel as the rider of Heeza Bonza in Race 5. From Kilcoy, 14.6.14 - Race 6 Apprentice A. Van Der Sanden, rider of THAT PRETTY GIRL, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 400m she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of FIFTYSHADESDARKER (A. Fancourt), resulting in FIFTYSHADESDARKER being tightened for room on to the running rail and having to be checked. Apprentice Van Der Sanden was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 5 meetings, to commence at midnight, 26 June and to expire at midnight, 4 July. On leaving the enclosure, KIEV made contact with the enclosure gate. KIEV underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. KIEV (M. Hellyer) was slow to begin and raced wide throughout. DINA'S DRAGON (Y. Yamada) was held up rounding the home turn and for the majority of the home straight. ZABEN (J. Orman) raced wide throughout. M. Hellyer reported that KEIV was inclined to hang in throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Race 2: JOHN VAUTIN C,G,& E CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1060m MAJOR BLOT, which was kicked by another behind the barriers, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. MAJOR BLOT (S. Fawke) was slow to begin. MEANJIN (T. Treichel) and ZARBEN (J. Orman) began awkwardly. FISCAL CLIFF (J. Missen) raced ungenerously in the early stages and lost ground. Trainer N. King's representative was advised that a warning would be placed on FISCAL CLIFF regarding its racing manners. Approaching the 200m, LEMAITRE (S. Bogenhuber) had to be steadied after improving on to the heels of MAJOR BLOT. Near the 400m, PORTLAND PUZZLE (D. Green) faltered and was retired from the race. A post race veterinary examination PORTLAND PUZZLE revealed it to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer R. Drysdale was advised that veterinary clearance would be required for PORTLAND PUZZLE prior to its next race start. Stewards afforded jockey T. Treichel the opportunity to comment on the disappointing performance of MEANJIN. T. Treichel stated that after beginning awkwardly the gelding never travelled comfortably throughout the race and failed to respond when placed under pressure near the 700m and proved disappointing. Stewards intend to interview trainer M. Palmer regarding the performance at a later date. Race 3: ARTHUR GRAY MAIDEN PLATE - 1200m SAINT BARNEY (W. O'Connell) and SOCIAL DELIGHT (P. Holmes) were slow to begin. Trainer G. Pollock and jockey P. Holmes were of the opinion that earmuffs being applied to SOCIAL DELIGHT today for the first time may have had a bearing on the overall performance in finishing tailed off. Mr Pollock was advised that SOCIAL DELIGHT must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. A post race veterinary examination SOCIAL DELIGHT failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
A post race veterinary examination SAINT BARNEY, which finished tailed off, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Connections were advised that SAINT BARNEY must trial in an official trial prior to its next race start. Race 4: ANNA TONES FILLIES & MARES CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1060m WOMEN BE SHOPPING (N. Yamada) and MURPHY'S SUNRISE (B. Derbyshire) began awkwardly. QUEEN'S LEGEND (R. Goltz) was badly held up and unable to improve rounding the home turn and then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight. Leaving the 300m, TARTUFO (S. Bogenhuber) had to be steadied from the heels of the tiring RANNA'S JEWEL (N. Nishio). Near the 200m, WOMEN BE SHOPPING shifted in under pressure, placing ALL IN ALL (G. Goold) in restricted room, which then shifted in and away from that runner, crowding the running of TARTUFO (S. Bogenhuber). N. Yamada, rider of WOMEN BE SHOPPING, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. B. Derbyshire reported that MURPHY'S SUNRISE was inclined to hang out throughout the race. WOMEN BE SHOPPING raced wide throughout. Race 5: WAYNE WOOD CLASS 2 H'CAPCAP - 1500m KING KAYIO (N. Nishio) began awkwardly and lost ground. SOLE ILLUSION (D. Hayse) and DASH FOR DOLLAR (P. Holmes) were slow to begin. Near the 1200m, WINNING APPROACH (W. O'Connell), when overracing, had to be steadied from the heels of JUST AS SWEET (B. Derbyshire), which shifted in. Rounding the home turn, KING KAIYO (N. Nishio) was disappointed for a run to the inside of DASH FOR DOLLAR, and then had difficulty obtaining clear running until a point inside the 100m. DASH FOR DOLLAR had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested. ROFRANOZ (C. Van Der Werf) and JUST AS SWEET (B. Derbyshire) raced wide throughout. KING KAYIO lost its off fore plate in running. Race 6: THANK YOU ROD SLATER & RAR ASSN QLD RATING 62 H'CAP - 1900m GREYLAMI (A. Fancourt) began awkwardly and lost considerable ground. EXQUISITE ANGEL (T. Williams) was caught wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead near the 1300m.
Near the 700m, MIGHTYSUI (J. Greacen), when overracing, shifted out away from the heels of KELTIC HONOUR (S. Fawke), resulting in ALL IN TIME (W. O'Connell), which was improving into a run between MIGHTYSUI and VON MOGLICH, resulting in ALL IN TIME being tightened for room and restrained. Whilst stewards noted the racing manners of MIGHTYSUI, J. Greacen was nonetheless reprimanded and advised to make greater attempts to keep her mounts straight in similar circumstances. M. Hellyer, rider of VIV'S VEGAS, reported at scale his mount was inclined to hang in throughout and became awkward in its action near the 200m. CARLSON'S FELT (B. Appo) shifted in under pressure in the home straight, resulting in B. Appo having to stop riding. A post race veterinary examination VON MOGLICH revealed it was suffering from a slower than normal recovery rate.
