Pearson S. Sweeney Dual Engagement Other Comments / Explanations: Due to the high temperatures expected today Stewards implemented the Hot Weather policy prior to the running of Race 1. R. Green trainer of Frisky Cruiser (R3) was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR30A(2) for the late notification of rider on the mare. As no other apprentice was available Stewards permitted Apprentice R. Pearson, rider of My Diamond Jaspa (R1) to only claim 2.5kg of her 3kg claiming allowance. Apprentice Pearson was find the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR92(14) for failing to claim down to her minimum riding weight. Following the running of R1 Stewards updated the track to a Good 3 at 1.35pm. Following the running of R2 Apprentice Riordan was examined by the club doctor and passed fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. D. OPrey trainer of Hunted (R3) was fined the sum of $50 under the provisions of AR140A for presenting the mare to race without ear muffs which is part of its approved racing gear.
Race 1 parkside produce bm58 handicap - 2050 metres: The Mighty Jungle Change of Tactics: To be ridden further back. Commenced extremely awkwardly losing considerable ground (10L) and was reluctant to make ground in the early stages. Raced extremely ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Trainer R. Blacker was notified that the gelding was now suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards in a jump out and gains any approval to race. Heebites Commenced awkwardly. Shelbyville Shortly after the start bumped by Cheeky Ben and Jay Al Cracker, both of which shifted ground. Over-raced in the middle stages. Passing the 800m when over-racing had to be checked to avoid the heels of Cheeky Ben which had commenced to give ground. Tactics queried: when questioned in relation to the tactics he adopted today particularly the vigour in which he rode his mount from the 800m to the 400m. Apprentice H. Grace stated that after his mount had to be checked when over-racing he found himself further back in the field than intended. Apprentice Grace stated that he placed his mount under pressure passing the 400m and that it responded to his riding at this point and then made good ground over the concluding stages. Stewards notified Apprentice Grace that in similar circumstances he would be expected to place his mounts into the race earlier than his did on this occasion. Jay Al Cracker Shifted out shortly after the start. Cheeky Ben Shifted in shortly after the start. My Diamond Jaspa Dipped on jumping away. North Of Hell Raced four wide without cover from the 800m. Yalta Over-raced in the middle stages before being permitted to stride forward to take up a three wide position near the 1000m. Laid in rounding the home turn. My Diamond Jaspa Laid in under pressure in the straight. Quatre Belle Performed below market expectations. When questioned in relation to the mares seemingly disappointing performance today rider C. Parish stated that in his opinion the mare failed to handle todays Good 3 track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Race 2 bill mcgrath engineering f&m maiden plate - 1100 metres: Princess Strada Slow to begin.
Madame Brussels Slow into stride. Rider J. Todd reported that the filly over-raced in the early stages and was then inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. Riohsei Attempted to buck shortly after the start. Trainer S. Thompson was notified that the filly was now suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards in a jump out and gains approval to race. Prairie Moon Commenced awkwardly unbalancing apprentice L. Riordan who lost his near side iron placing him at a disadvantage due to his saddle slipping and then being unable to regain the use of that iron. Approaching the 400m apprentice Riordan lost the use of both his irons leaving him with no other option that than to sit up and as a result the mare went to the line not fully tested. After passing winning post apprentice Riordan was harmlessly dislodged. As it was impractical to weigh in apprentice Riordan acting under the provisions of AR142 Stewards declared correct weight. Spirit Of Courage Raced wide without cover throughout. Miss Juanita Commenced awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Laid out rounding the home turn. Apprentice L. King dropped his off side rein on straightening. Tycoon Passing the 500m held up for clear running before shifting the outside of Out Of Mind to obtain clear running near 400m. Race 3 mcharg solicitors bm52 handicap - 1100 metres: Bad Obsession Performed below market expectations. Apprentice L. Riordan could offer no explanation for the geldings performance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Frisky Cruiser Change of tactics: To be ridden more forward Settled in a midfield position with cover. Maccas Magic Slow to begin. Speedshow Commenced awkwardly before being bumped by Cheap Tycoon, which shifted out on jumping. Cheap Tycoon Shifted out on jumping away. Raced wide without cover throughout. Hunted Passing the 300m had to be steadied and shift to the inside of Bad Obsession which had commenced to weaken. Im Peter Held up for clear running from rounding the home turn until straightening. Cobra Kai Tactics queried: When questioned rider B. Vale stated that his instructions were to be positive from the barriers as the gelding has had a tendency to be slow out at its most recent starts. Trainer K. Hanley confirmed these instructions and noted that the gelding had
settled further back than intended at its most recent starts and that it had always been his intention for the gelding to race in a forward position. Stewards noted Mr Hanleys comments. Race 4 telstra business centre albury wodonga maiden plate - 1300 metres: Prior to correct weight being declared C. Ledger co-trainer of Buffalo Soldier (2 nd placegetter) viewed the Stewards official patrol footage before deciding not to lodge an objection against Apito (1 st placegetter) and Stewards declared correct weight. Dagwood Slow into stride. Special Print Commenced awkwardly. Apprentice R. Pearson was reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using her whip in consecutive strides on one occasion prior to the 100m. Refiner Commenced awkwardly. Over-raced in the middle stages. Frozen Asset Slow into stride. Bush Bandicoot Shortly after the start shifted out abruptly resulting in Mosero shifting out and bumping with Big Brown Aye. Mosero Bumped shortly after the start. Big Brown Aye Bumped shortly after the start. Commenced to give ground from the 500m and as a result was eased out of the event by its rider. Rider J. Duffy stated that it was not his intention to settle so far forward on the mare, though after beginning well from the wide barrier he elected to allow his mount to stride forward to avoid being caught wide. A postrace veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Race 5 nordcon land bm58 handicap - 1300 metres: The start of this race was delayed by two minutes due to Secrets Kept having to be vetted at the barriers. Dawns Fight Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after the gelding hit the fence leaving the mounting yard dislodging its rider apprentice S. Sweeney before crashing thru the aluminium fence leading to the stall areas and was deemed unfit to start. Co-trainer C. Ledger was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance before the horse is accepted to race again. Acting on this Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 3.42pm on veterinary advice. Co-trainer C. Ledger was also notified that a warning would be placed against the gelding for it pre-race manners and should it act in a similar manner in the future further action may be taken. Stewards orders in relation to betting were: All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to

Over the concluding stages when hanging had to be momentarily steadied and as a result went to the line not fully tested. Get Ya Kicks Held up for clear running on straightening before shifting to the outside of Smooth Danishs heels to obtain clear running approaching the 200m. Apprentice L. King was reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m.
