Accommodation : Mercure Niederwall Nice hotel accessible for wheelchairs. Most of the delegation were accommodated in this hotel Mercure Waldhof Nice hotel accessible for wheelchairs but with only one lift (1 whc). Only a few number of delegations with one or two wheelchairs and the officials were accommodated is this hotel. Jugendgästehaus Youth hostel accessible for wheelchairs. Some delegations, officials and seminar candidates were accommodated is this youth hostel. Meals : Breakfasts in both hotel. Lunch and dinner in the sport hall organized by a caterer. Very good organization with a lot of choice in warm and cold meals at lunch and dinner time. Farewell dinner Organized in the restaurant UNIVERZA in the University complex. Very nice Turkish buffet, farewell party with music and with a very nice belly dancer end of evening. Participants : 29 nations were present 175 mens 46 womens 73 escorts 294 participants in total! Transport : Venue : With bus between the airport - the hotel the airport. The 100 km between Hannover and Bielefeld makes that some teams had to wait some time in the airport to complete a bus. During the competition days, with bus between hotel and sportvenue. A constant driving service was available all day long. It was also possible to walk to the venue about 15 minutes from the hotels. Organizing very good organization with very welcoming people Comments : for a next organization, to foresee : - Transport : better to use smaller buses between Hannover and Bielelefd ( waiting time not so long)! - Umpires : invitation to foreign umpires! - Hotels : to try to give to everybody an hotel from same level! The 3 rd Bielefeld Open was one of the best organization in 2004. The professional work from each responsible makes this team a very good candidate for a next European Championship organization.
