They collected over 1,700 pounds of food to be delivered to Lighthouse Ministries in Lakeland. KHS Animal Science 4th and 5th year students had opportunity to go visit the Ringling Brothers Center for Elephant Conservatory in Polk City to learn about Asian Elephant husbandry. They got to tour the facility, witness elephants being cared for, and interact with an elephant up close. They learned about animal welfare versus animal rights and were able to discuss how raising exotic animals mirrors agricultural livestock. KHS Mission: Cultivating a Legacy of Lifelong Learners

On Monday and Tuesday, the freshman class had the opportunity to experience flight in the clouds above. Thank you to Mike Zidziunas and the Aeroclub members for keeping everyone safe on the runway. Great American Teach In Thursday, November 17, 2016 We had 20 guest speakers visit the main and CFAA campus during the Great American Teach In. The following cadets were a part of KHS Welcome Committee for the Great American Teach In participants. They were able to meet, greet and escort our guests to their room locations. You must mention you are with KHS Band in order for the Band to receive support. Polk State is coming to Kathleen High School. They will be on the main campus on Friday, January 20 and on the CFAA Campus on Monday, January 23. Here is what Polk State Advisors need from students upon their arrival to our campus: 1. Polk State online application completed 2. Testing done if they used ACT or SAT, then we need to have printed copy of the test scores. It would be great if they have printed copy of PERT as well. 3. Online Orientation completed (www.polk.edu, admission, student orientation) 4. Once they complete orientation, they get a certificate. If they can print it or take a screen shot of the certificate or the last screen on the presentation, it will work. 5. Approval at hand Students will need either DELTA or Paper approval form completely filled out and approved by all parties.

Smile Pack Backpack Program Attention Parents/ Guardians: The Catholic Charities of Central Florida sponsors the Agape Food Bank program to help feed hungry families of Polk County. If you have a need, please contact joaquin.reyes@polk-fl.net so that we can provide a backpack full of food items for your child to bring home.
