Growing in Virtues EAGLE NEWS FROM THE PRINCIPAL HEART to HEART November 2, 2018 School Mission: Sacred Heart Catholic School s Mission is to provide an opportunity for children to develop a commitment to church, family, and community through growth in knowledge, social skills, and Christian virtues. NOV 2 SPIRIT DAY NOV 5 Basketball (girls/boys) NOV 6 Basketball (girls/boys) Cheer / Dance NOV 7 Mass at 8:30am Veteran s Day Celebration NOV 8 Basketball (girls/boys) Cheer / Dance NOV 9 Thanksgiving Lunch Lego Club As we begin the month of November, we d like to take the opportunity to thank all of our families, parishioners, and friends for all of the support. The month of November gives us the opportunity to grow in our faith. We begin by reflecting on the lives of the holy people who went before us, the saints. Their lives were not always easy and they sacrificed much to stay firm in their faith. Each year our students do a beautiful job portraying the saints and teaching us about their sufferings and triumphs. These faith filled people who, for the most part, were ordinary people who wanted only to grow in holiness in order to be closer to God. What wonderful role models for our children! Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, John 14:27. November is a time set aside to remember those who fought for peace, and those who continue to work to keep our world at peace. Please join us on Wednesday, November 7 with Mass at 8:30am then to the Parish Hall for a special musical presentation by our students honoring our nation s Veterans. Ms. Susan Harris, M.Ed., Principal Thanksgiving Feast SHCS first Thanksgiving Feast is Friday, November 9. We emailed a form for you to sign up for your dish choice and lunch time.
