PROBLEM Pipeline monitoring is a matter of safety! Traditional methods of underwater pipelines inspection (sonars and visual inspection) do not allow evaluation of the pipelines technical state. 3

SOLUTION POLYINFORM has developed magnetometric inspection system for the non-contact inspection of steel underwater pipelines. ADVANTAGES: Remote (up to 10 diameters of the pipe) diagnostics of pipelines state, No preparations, no stop or disruption is required no production lost, Detects anomalies from stress, tension or corrosion in real time, Reliability over 90%, Searching for stuck smart-pigs (even without a pressure) High speed - up to 1 km daily per 1 crew, Tracing of the pipeline is possible, Inspection of non-piggable sections. LIMITATIONS: Inside pressure at least 1 MPa is required (without a pressure only stress-deformed state and locations of stuck smart-pig could be detected), The technology is applicable for steel (ferro-magnetic) materials only. 4

TECHNOLOGY PHYSICAL BASIS Software-hardware KMD-02 series devices: Using Villari Effect detect changes of the pipelines magnetic field caused by various flaws, including stress, tension or corrosion as well as additional magnetic mass (stuck smart-pig) From the distance up to 10 diameters of the subject pipeline, Received data is visualized as magnetograms and also recorded on flesh-memory. 5

UNDERWATER INSPECTION PRODUCT LINE KMD-02 SERIES KMD-02GR-Dolphin and KMD- 02R-Barracuda are systems for non-contact magnetometric inspection of subsea pipelines at the depth of 300-2000 m (to be mounted on ROV) KMD-02DS is a diveroperated system for subcontact (without insulation cover removing) inspection of underwater pipelines and metal constructions. 6 KMD-02D-Octopus is a diver-operated system for underwater pipelines inspection at the depth of 20 60 m. DETECTABLE DEFECTS KMD-02 series devices detect anomalies of the magnetic field caused by various types of defects: Stress-deformed state SDS, Corrosion fatigue*, Defects related with loss of metal* and failure of metal's solidity, changes the pipelines geometry, unauthorized inserts as well as repair locations local damage, Unauthorized inserts. *Except pinhole corrosion 7

MAGNETOGRAMS: VISUALIZATION OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD During these express-analysis the received magnetometric data is processed and the locations for Additional Flaw Detecting Tests (AFDT) by NDT methods are selected. THE UNDERWATER INSPECTION TOOL KMD-02D-OCTOPUS Waterproof display allows an operator to monitor anomalies in real time. The received data is recorded to the flash memory for further processing. The device operated by a diver allows inspection at the depth of up to 60 m. 9

THE WORK FLOW OF UNDERWATER PIPELINES INSPECTION WITH KMD-02D-OCTOPUS I STAGE (PREPARATION) II STAGE (FIELD) III STAGE (EXPRESS-ANALYSIS) VI STAGE (AFDT) V STAGE (DATA PROCESSING) VI STAGE (REPORT) 1. Collecting and analysis of all necessary information about the pipeline and preparing the equipment. 2.1 Marking the trace of the pipeline the appropriate way, 2.2 Visual survey of the trace with photo- video- recording, 2.3 Contactless magnetometric inspection with KMD-02D-Octopus. 3.1 Express analysis of the magnetograms, 3.2 Marking the magnetic anomalies centers at the trace with special markers. 4. By the request of the Customer Additional Flaw Detect Tests by nondestructive (NDT) contact methods can be executed - measuring of thickness and hardness etc. 5. The processing and interpretation of the received data is held in the Analytic Center. 6. The report and the final condition conclusion on the technical state of the pipeline including the digital maps of the detected anomalies is made. 10

THE PROCEDURE OF UNDERWATER PIPELINES INSPECTION WITH KMD-02D-OCTOPUS Non-Contact Inspection with KMD-02D-Octopus (FIELD STAGE) EXPRESS-ANALYSIS of the contactless data Marking of the magnetic anomaly's center with underwater marker (EXPRESS-ANALYSIS STAGE) AFDT (NDT) under water KMD-02D-Octopus allows high-efficient integral evaluation of pipelines technical state. The inspection is carried out in the accordance with norms and regulations of Russian State Supervision Agency GD-102-008-2002, GD-12-411-01. 11

NON CONTACT UNDERWATER INSPECTION WITH KMD-02D-OCTOPUS FIELD STAGE (II STAGE) 1. KMD-02D-Octopus divers-operators carry out reconnaissance diving and mark the trace and prepare necessary equipment. 2. First operator executes visual survey of the trace with photo-video recording. In case of the pipeline located under the bottom or covered with a sediment the operator uses underwater trace founder to locate the pipeline. Visual survey of the underwater pipeline 3. THE SUBSEA PIPELINES INSPECTION TOOL KMD-02R-BARRACUDA KMD-02R-Barracuda system is designed to be mounted on ROV for the non-contact inspection of underwater pipelines at the depth up to 2000 m. The data from KMD-02R-Barracuda is sent by the cable of ROV to the computer of the operator in the real time, it s also recorded into the computer memory. 14

THE UNDERWATER INSPECTION TOOL KMD-02GR-DOLPHIN The device is designed for the non-contact magnetometric pipelines inspection at the depth of up to 300 m. KMD-02GR-Dolphin should be mounted on an ROV SuperGnom type. KMD-02GR-Dolphin mounted on SuperGnom ROV is ready for the operation. 19

TRACK RECORDS THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, LADOGA LAKE, 2017 The aim of the pilot test is to evaluate the workability of the KMD-02GR- Doplphin mounted on SuperGNOM ROV. The device was dipped into the lake up to the depth of 115 m during the first pilot tests. The device is supplemented with the lights and can be operated in the low light conditions. 21
