SKI TRIP RULES We look forward to having you join us on the STEM Academy Ski Trip! Ski trips are a PRIVILEGE. We expect students to act responsibly at all times and follow the school Code of Conduct. We also expect students to abide by all rules written/posted at Pat s Peak. No reckless skiing or snowboarding is permitted. You are a guest of the mountain, and Sandwich has been welcomed back year after year because of our well-behaved students. To ensure a fun day and the safety of everyone, the following rules must be followed: 1. Bus Seating: You may sit on the bus with whomever you wish, but you must sit in the same seat on the return trip. If we find that your behavior is inappropriate, you will be asked to move your seat. If this behavior continues, then seats will be assigned. When we return to Sandwich High School, all students are expected to pick up all trash before exiting. Any use of profanity, deliberate damage to the bus, or trashing of the bus will lead to loss of ski trip privileges. NO EXCEPTIONS. 2. Lessons: Every student who is level 1-4 is required to take a lesson. This is both for your safety and enjoyment. All students are restricted from Hurricane. NO EXCEPTIONS. We take these safety precautions very seriously. 3. Helmets/Wrist guards: Helmets must be worn by all students. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you do not own a ski helmet, you must rent one. It must be a ski helmet, not a bike helmet. Wrist guards are required for snowboarders. Please make sure you are able to wear your gloves over your wrist guards. 4. Partners: All students must ski with at least one other student at the same skill level (beginner with beginners, etc.). No one should be on the mountain alone at any time. 5. Dress: Please dress appropriately, including coats, ski pants, gloves, and hats. For those of you new to skiing, you may not realize that it can be very cold on the mountain. We suggest you dress in layers. You may want to bring extra gloves and socks. A zippered bag to keep track of your belongings in the lodge is advisable. 6. Valuables: You may bring cell phones and any other electronics but you are fully responsible for all of your belongings. Sandwich Stem Academy, the bus company, and Pat s Peak are not responsible for lost clothing, equipment, electronics, or money. 7. Required Check-In: Between 11:30am and 12:00pm you MUST check in with a chaperone in the lodge. Once you appear in person, your name will be checked off. Please be mindful of this time when you are skiing to allow yourself plenty of time. There are clocks at each lift area. If you fail to check in on time you will lose your lift ticket for the rest of the day and will not be allowed on future trips. You must check in again at 3:00pm sharp. NO EXCEPTIONS! The bus loads at 3:15pm. If you don t check in at 3:00 you will lose future ski trip privileges. NO EXCEPTIONS. A roll call will be taken when departing from Sandwich High School and again when departing from Pat s Peak.

Pat s Peak is a great, friendly mountain. They have a rustic lodge with a full cafeteria. You may also bring food on the bus. We encourage kids to bring or buy a drink for the return trip. A full day of skiing leaves you thirsty! We travel in a comfortable coach bus with bathroom facilities on board. Please take these rules seriously because we take our responsibility for you VERY SERIOUSLY. We want you to have a wonderful time with your classmates and friends. The rules are in place to keep you safe and accounted for. THE BUS WILL DEPART AT 5:45 a.m. SHARP AND WILL NOT WAIT FOR LATE ARRIVALS! We should be back at Sandwich High School by 6:00pm.
