Rules of the day 1.Hats to the standard EN1384, PAS 015, ASTMF 1163, AS/NZ 3838 or Snell E2001 must be worn with the chin strap fastened at all times when mounted. 2.All competitors must wear an effective body protector. 3.Medical information must be carried by all riders. Forms can be obtained from the bib collection point. 4.A horse/pony may compete only once per class. 5.Horses and ponies must be at least 4 years old. 6.Any horse or pony who refuses at one obstacle three times is eliminated and must move on to the next obstacle immediately. Failure to do so will result in the rider being asked to leave the course. Any eliminated rider, if continuing on the course, must give way to other competitors. 7.The organisers reserve the right to cancel or change any class. 8.Prize money may be reduced if there are insufficient entries. 9.Objections must be made in writing within 15 minutes of the results being announced and accompanied by a deposit of 15 which is returnable if the complaint is upheld. 10.In the event of an accident any costs to the Vet. or Paramedics will be met by the injured party. 11.HEALTH AND SAFETY: The organisers of the event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards at all times. 12.In the event of adverse weather the event will be postponed. Please phone 07765496552 for further information or view Barlow Hunt website. 13.After jumping faults have been taken into consideration, the winner of each class will be the competitor closest to a pre-set optimum time based on a fair hunting pace. The time will be displayed prior to the competition in the official tent. The use of timing equipment by any competitor is strictly forbidden. Unauthorised outside assistance will result in elimination. 14.LEGAL LIABILITY Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor the Barlow Hounds, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents or accessories or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Rules are as per the Hunter Trials Rules of the Day with the following additions: ALL RIDERS ENTER THIS TEAM CHALLENGE AT THEIR OWN RISK AND MUST BE CAPABLE OF RIDING THE COURSE WITHIN A TEAM. HORSES/PONIES MUST BE FIT ENOUGH TO COMPETE AND MAY NOT BE ENTERED IN MORE THAN A TOTAL OF TWO CLASSES DURING THE DAY. Riders 14 years old or over on 1 st January in the current year There will be a team briefing by the entry tent 40 minutes before the class starts. This time will be published once the times have been established for the day. All riders to attend. Hats to minimum standard PAS015, ASTMF 1163, or above must be worn; Competitors must also wear (BETA) Level 3 body protector year 2002 or later. A body protector of this nature is also required when competitors are wearing air jackets. Medical armbands for all riders are compulsory. No jewellery/ watches/timing equipment. Number bibs provided 5 deposit per bib. Riders may ride in up to two different teams but they must be on different horses/ponies.
Barlow Cross Country Team Challenge Each team shall consist of a maximum of four horses and riders and at least three horses and riders shall complete the course successfully for that team to finish and record a time. Teams may jump the intermediate 80cm or open 1m course and may switch between the fences during their round. At the area called FOX COVERT 3 TEAM MEMBERS MUST JUMP INTO THE EN- CLOSED AREA BEFORE ANYONE JUMPS OUT(20 second time penalty added if not) Team closest to the disclosed optimum time wins No penalties for stops 100 entry fee per team ( 85 per Barlow Hunt and Barlow Pony Club Teams all riders must be members of the Hunt or PC) Rosettes to 6 th place 100 to winning team Prizes in kind 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd teams Fun spot prizes on the day This is a fun class and competitors are expected to behave accordingly, and accept all decisions made by the fence judges and officials. Those exhibiting undesirable behaviour will have their team eliminated.
