-edition 02 Round 2 What a warm day it was on Sunday, I m sure its been a while since the players have played in those conditions, the water boys/girls certainly would have been working overtime. Just a quick note to which team it is who has the dinner roster this Sunday. Lucky U/12's have the honour of cooking up a storm this week... the roster has them doing Pies.so look forward to that!! If anyone has team photos they have taken can they please send them through to me at darren@razorbacksportswear.com.au and let me know the team etc and some of the players that are in the photo. Also I have the community wall, so if anyone has anything they would like to say or sell can they send the info through and I'll put it on for the next edition.. Don't forget, any information regarding the seniors or juniors can be found on the clubs website, www.mooroolbarkfc.com.au anzac day To all Team Managers and Coaches The EFL have advised that there is no protocol for playing on ANZAC Day but each Club can arrange things to honor the day if they wish to. So we have decided that all our Junior teams will wear black armbands in memory of the fallen on ANZAC Day. TM s if you buy some black tape or have any at home lying around (we can reimburse) for the boys to use on Sunday. Also, all home games will have a 1 minute silence preceding their games which our Club President will in attendance for. Al Westwood will be at each home game to carry out the minute silence. When you arrive at your home game on Sunday please make sure you advise the opposing team that the minute silence will be happening and also the umpires. All away games (boys are to wear black armbands) it is up to the discretion of the club you are playing to decide if they wish to hold anything in memory of ANZAC Day, hopefully they will have something in place. Under 8 s Knox should advise on the morning if they intend to carry out any type of memorial, again, hopefully they will. Please let all your teams know of our decisions for the boys in regard to ANZAC Day. If you have any questions let Trina Gammel know They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. PAGE 1

Have started looking for each other alot more and working as a team. They battled right to the end but were outclassed on the day. Well done to Cameron Isbel, constant drive, long kicks, and two goals. Jack Kist may be the smallest kid on the ground but he has the biggest heart, thanks Jack. Dylon saw a lot of the ball and shared it with his team mates, likewise with Brodie Atkins. Jackson Sealey played on even though he was injured. Well played boys. Cameron Isbel 2, and 1 to Tyler Charlton Under 9's Coach Craig Pretty Mooroolbark V Wantirna South Green at Wantirna Reserve 16 9 105 to 1 0 6 With South Wantirna a bit undermanned our boys took control from the first bounce. They were first to the footy, shared the ball around by hand and foot and played great team football. It is good to see the boys playing so well together as a team in only their second game. Keep up the great work boys and thank you to all parents so far for your input and encouragement for the boys. Zak Pretty 4, Marcus Tyzack 3, 2 each to Andy Reyment & Jake Williams. Bailey Chandler, Max Gray, Cayden Maki, Clay Noyes and Jasper Smith scored 1 each. Under 10's Coach Drew Reilly Mooroolbark V Glen Waverley Rovers at Kiloran 4 3 27 to 6 6-42 The boys had a good hard contest against a well drilled Glen Waverley side. Both sides showed very good skills throughout the game. Our boys, even though they were playing catch up for most of the game, held their heads high and kept trying all the game. This will hold them in good stead for the rest of the year. Charlie Clavant, Adam Gaudiano, Ben Palmer and Jackson Merrett 1 goal to each PAGE 2

MJFC SEASON 2010 ROUND 2 th 18 April Match Reports Under 11's Coach Craig Davison Mooroolbark V Forest Hill at Forest Hill 4 2 26 to16 9 105 We played Forest Hill today at Forest Hill and got a football lesson, being out scored in the first quarter 9 goals to nothing. After a quiet word with the boys and Maddy, they did improve in the last 3 quarters only being beaten by 3 goals. Best players were Tyson, Ryan Staples, Connor, Billy, Brandon, Brayden & Trent. I believe todays game was a lesson learnt and we will come back. Connor Ratcliffe and Jacob Starnawski 1 goal each and 2 goals to Xzavier Price Under 12's Gold Coach Dean Roberts Mooroolbark V Rowville Brown at Kiloran 3 3 21 to 8 17 65 The boys had a good day today and we kicked a few more goals this week. The day was very warm so we rotated the boys around a fair bit. They tried hard all game but unfortunately didn't have a win. We are see improvements each week. A great effort to you all. Well played - Josh Hill, Jack Roberts, Ethan Podmore, Aaron Zarris and Anthony Witt Also would like to say welcome to the few new players we have received over the last week or so, we are filling our team nicely. Anthony Witt, Dylan Higgins and Kieran Bowers 1 goal each Under 12's Green Coach Chris Beamish Mooroolbark V Bayswater at Bayswater Oval 11 11 77 to 3 2 20 We travelled to Bayswater today to take on a team that defeated us by the biggest margin last year. The ground was patchy, the weather hot and our full back was out injured. We needed a good start!. It didn't go to plan Bayswater quickly cleared the ball from the guts and found several forwards meters in the clear. A goal inside a minute and immediately we're on the back foot. The boys responded, to their credit, and took control of the next 13 minutes but only managed 1 goal 2 behinds for their efforts. They (Bayswater) again took the lead in the final 30 secs with a soft goal. nd The 2 quarter we took control with 3 goals to 1. Great tackling efforts from Jackson & Specky, a highlight of the term but another goal to Bayswater in the final 30 seconds hurt. We rested Liam after a fantastic half of ruck work and Michael took over without missing a beat. rd Alex was also given a rest and again Daniel took over and applied himself brilliantly. The result was 3.6 to nil in the 3 quarter. The boys across all lines were applying fantastic pressure and we moved the ball by hand and foot with precision. A final last quarter effort was asked for into the wind and it was delivered. In hot conditions we out ran and out played them with 4.2 to 0.1. st Great team effort boys. Great 1 game to Lachlan Eagleton. Better players: Alex, Beamo, Joel, Tommy, Liam, Jackson, Jakob, Specky, Daniel, JT, Scratch & Michael Alex Marsh 3, Jack Thomas and Tommy Batten - 2, and 1 each to Jack Beamish, Julian Cooper, Joel Bright and Jordan Galanos PAGE 4
MJFC SEASON 2010 ROUND 2 th 18 April Match Reports Under 13's Coach Craig Daniell Mooroolbark V Croydon at Longfellow Reserve 6 4 40 to 15 12 102 nd Boys played really well in the first quarter. The game got away from us in the 2 with the boys needing to adapt to the style of the opp team. The boys will be better for the experience, learning to bounce back but they need to listen and do the 1 percenter more often. Blake Daniell 2, and 1 to Shane Hall, Joel Hanna, Jhi Aitken and Jack Craig-Smith Under 14's Coach Craig Downie Mooroolbark V The Basin at Battenham Reserve 17 17 119 to 1 2 8 An excellent 4 quarter game in hot conditions today. All the boys responded to playing in different positions as we rotated them all over the ground. One small lapse let to their 1 and only goal, but apart from that, the improvement from last week was fantastic. The talk is getting better and the boys can see the advantage this creates. Keep improving guys and keep running and talking. Well done to all the boys who really all had an impact on the result. Sam Downie & Jonathan Fraser 4. Austin Sutherland & Daniel McGee 2, 1 each to Daniel Bell, Peter Wright, Jake Detering, Will Green and Josh McPhee. Under 15's Coach Brett Anderson Mooroolbark V Norwood at The Heights 14 15 99 to 8 8 56 Playing Norwood at home again was another challenge for the group. st Kicking into the wind we matched it goal for goal in the 1 quarter. The conditions were very hot and windy, the boys ran the ball well in patches and their commitment around the stoppages was fierce and intense. nd We kicked 6 goals to nothing in the 2 quarter which set up the game. When the siren sounded Mooroolbark ran out 43 point winners. Great win boys, keep it up. 5 Aaron Enever, 3 Shane Toleman, 2 Arron Morris, & Brendan Devey and 1 each to Liam Hodgett & Tom McCombe Under 16's Coach Paul Toleman Mooroolbark V Norwood Black at Walker Park, Norwood 5 4 34 to 29 16 190 Much better effort today against a big bodied and very good opposition. Good tackling which went unrewarded but the boys never gave up. Well played S Watkins, J Jordan, T Nash, J Pobke, W Harris. Jayden Pobke 3, Kane Loebert and Jamie Ryff 1 each Pain is temporary, Failure lasts for ever. - Lance Armstrong - PAGE 5
