During the session, the participants will have to figure out in what form it is organized now in the central part of the city, how it is planned to be developed according to the available project proposals. Today, Kaliningrad is one of the cities of Russia with a record concentration of vehicles. The motor transport is the main air-polluter in the city. How should the motor transport flows be organized in the city center? Toll parking, toll-access into city center, traffic dumping, delaying parking all these issues should be addressed during the session. How to provide understanding of local residents of the necessity of such measures in the city with a huge concentration of cars? Moderator: V.V. Kaliningrad s specific feature is highly overloaded with public transport city center nearby Pobedy square. This leads to congestions, which are paralyzing the work of the whole transport system of the city. What are the ways for the solution of that problem? The new general renovation plan implies cardinal modification of the transportation service system for the city center, shifting the load mainly onto the public transport. What should be the most effective solutions allowing to use the advantages of the public transport, while co-existing with intensive pedestrian and bicycle movement? Moderator: N.V.
