Michigan State will host Ohio State, while Michigan will visit Wisconsin, with both series scheduled for Friday and Saturday. In non-conference ac on, Penn State will host a pair of games against Northern Michigan, while Minnesota will take part in the North Star College Cup at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn. The Gophers will face top-ranked Minnesota State on Friday and then will meet either Minnesota Duluth or Bemidji State on Saturday. Minnesota won the inaugural North Star College Cup last season. A er scoring 10 mes in its game against Ohio State on Friday, Michigan raised its na onleading scoring average to 4.15 goals per game. The Wolverines have scored five or more goals in eight games this season and have lit the lamp 21 mes in their last three games. Michigan is joined in the top 15 na onally by Minnesota in ninth with 3.40 goals per contest and Penn State in 11th with 3.33 goals per game. Six Big Ten players rank among the top 20 na onally in points per game, including a pair of Michigan linemates in the top five. Zach Hyman leads all Big Ten skaters and ranks third in the country with 1.45 points per game, followed by fellow Wolverine Dylan Larkin in fourth with 1.39 points per contest. Penn State s Taylor Holstrom ranks 10th with 1.28 points per game with teammate Casey Bailey following at 13th with 1.24 points per contest. Another Wolverine, Tyler Mo e, checks in at 16th with 1.17 points per game, one spot ahead of Minnesota s Mike Reilly with 1.15 points per contest. BTN will carry three games live this weekend, including a doubleheader on Saturday. The network will open its weekend coverage with Friday s series-opening game between Michigan and Wisconsin at 9 p.m. ET. On Saturday, BTN will broadcast the Penn State-Northern Michigan game at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Michigan State-Ohio State contest at 7 p.m. The games are part of an extensive slate of television coverage this season with at least 35 games set to air na onally on BTN, ESPNU and ESPNEWS. Tickets for the 2015 Big Ten Men s Ice Hockey Tournament, slated for March 19-21, 2015, at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, are on sale. Ticket packages can be purchased at the Joe Louis Arena Box Office, Ticketmaster Ticket Centers, charge by phone at 800-745-3000 or online at www. cketmaster.com. Three Big Ten teams are receiving votes in the latest USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls, released on Monday. Michigan is ranked No. 16 in the USCHO.com poll, one spot ahead of Minnesota. Penn State con nues to receive votes in the USCHO.com rankings. The Big Ten schedule is a 20-game slate with each team playing the other five members four mes. During regular-season conference games, shootouts will be u lized to decide contests that remain ed following the conclusion of the five-minute over me period. Each team will select three players with teams alterna ng shots. If the shootout remains ed at the end of three rounds, each team will select a different shooter in a sudden-death situa on.
