If you are participating in the 4 th Annual STMA Frosty Fest Cheer Competition, please select one of the five options below. Using one popular song from a music provider like itunes, Google Play, etc. Name of Song: Artist Name: Used a preferred provider listed on varsity.com/music. Please attach documentation that you purchased music from the preferred provider. Music Provider: Using an original song, that was created by someone who owns the rights to the song and gave you these rights to the song. Please attach appropriate documentation. Received permission to edit a popular song with another popular song. Please attach appropriate documentation. You need to get permission from all owners of the recording (the record label) and the music composition (the music publishers) before you edit a recording with another recording. This can be time consuming and expensive as you might not get immediate approval from these groups in time for your performance. Use cover version of popular recordings from past Varsity Spirit Summer Camp Music CDs that you already own. These songs CANNOT be edited together and has to be used as is.
STMA Frosty Fest Cheer Competition Information Team Registration: Team registration will begin at 8:00AM. Teams should enter at Door C which is in the East Parking Lot. Warm-Up: There will be open mat space available for stunting both in the Activity Center and the main gym prior to the competition from 8-9:30AM. A certified coach must be with all stunting teams. Please be considerate of other teams and share the space available. Additionally, teams will go through an additional warm-up cycle immediately before competing. This will consist of 5 minutes on a tumbling strip, 5 minutes on a partial wrestling mat, and 5 minutes on a full mat prior to your performance. Music: Music checks can be done in the main gym between 9:15AM and 9:45AM. Music can be in CD format or on an Ipod. The USA Music Copyright Policy is applicable to our event. Please fill out the attached standard form from MCCA guaranteeing your music mix meets all criterion set forth by USA Music. Routine Length: School teams are limited to 2 ½ minutes max; 1 ½ minutes of music. All Star teams are limited 2 ½ minutes. Game Day teams are limited to 3 minutes max. Rules: AACCA rules must be followed by all school teams. USASF rules must be followed by all-star teams. Hair: Hair must be at least ½ up NO hair that frames the face should be able to reach the cheerleaders eyes.. Nails: Nails must be trimmed so they do not show past fingertips. NO ARTIFICIAL NAILS. Jewelry: No jewelry, including earrings, facial piercing, bellybutton piercing, nose piercing, body piercing, or tongue piercing. Glitter: NO glitter is acceptable, shimmer is fine, but if there are pieces of glitter that may fall of, it is a violation Coaches Meeting: There will be a Coaches meeting at 9:00am in the Coaches Lounge. Jump-Off: We will have a jump off for individual cheerleaders. There is no limit to the number of team members that can participate. There will be an Elementary category, Middle School/Junior High Category, and JV/Varsity category. Round 1: Toe touch, Round 2: Choice, Round 3 (if needed): Combination jump. Cost is $5 per cheerleader. The winner will receive a medal!
Awards: Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 places or 50% of the teams in each division, whichever is greater. Medals will be awarded to stunt groups. Tis the Season to be Givin Join us in spreading holiday CHEER with our Food Drive for the Hanover Food Shelf. The team that brings the most non-perishable food items (items per team member) will receive a plaque recognizing their donation. Thank you in advance for your participation!
