APPALOOSA HORSE CLUB The I n t e r n a t i o n a l B r e e d R e g i s t r y f o r A p p a l o o s a H o r s e s E s t. 1 9 3 8 Dear Regional Club Pointkeeper or Primary Contact: Please see the forms below needed to nominate for the 2017 World Show. Only regional clubs and international partners that held a show or co-sponsored a show with another club/entity are entitled to nominate horses and/or non-pros to compete at the World Show. (Form A) Outline of World Show Qualifying Requirements - Rule 703 (Form B) World Show Open Class list (lists only those classes in which you may submit nominations) (Form B2) World Show Non-Pro Class list (lists only those classes in which you may submit nominations) (Form C) Form on which to list shows that your regional club sponsored or co-sponsored (Form D) Class Nomination Forms, OPEN (Form D2) Class Nomination Forms, NON-PRO Please carefully read Form A (Rule 703) regarding regional nominations to the World Show. You must sign the bottom of Form A indicating that you have read and understand the regional qualifying system. Your signature also indicates that you have complied with Rule 703 in nominating horses for the World Show. Please submit a separate class sheet for each class in which you are submitting nominations. A horse may be nominated only if the owner of that horse is a member of your club. A non-pro may be nominated only if the non-pro is a member of your club. You may only nominate horses or non-pro exhibitors that showed in those classes that were held at a show or shows that were sponsored or co-sponsored by your club during the qualifying year from September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017 that were judged by at least one ApHC-approved judge. Clubs shall not nominate horses or non-pros that only showed at shows that were pointed by your club. You may nominate up to 5 horses in each class listed on Form B and up to 5 non-pros in each class listed on Form B2. Please do not combine junior and senior classes on the nomination forms. For instance, if you held all-ages western riding at your show, separate your junior and senior horses and nominate the junior horses in the junior western riding class and the senior horses in the senior western riding class. This process should be used in all age-appropriate classes including when nominating horses in hunter in hand age-designated classes and when nominating non-pros in non-pro age designated classes. Be sure to nominate horses and/or non-pros in classes as they are listed on Forms B and B2. Do not submit nominations in age groups or divisions that are not on these forms. Please log on to the regional club portal on the ApHC web site and update your membership list prior to submitting your nominations. Horse owners and non-pros must be current members of your club to receive a nomination. If your sponsored or co-sponsored shows were completed prior to August 1, 2017, your nominations, show results and membership lists must be received by the ApHC no later than August 25, 2017. If your sponsored or co-sponsored shows occurred on or after August 1, 2017, your nominations, show results and membership lists must be received by the ApHC no later than September 5, 2017. Nominations received after these deadline dates will not be accepted. Please contact the Performance Department with questions. Sincerely, ApHC Performance Department Keri Minden LeForce, Performance Department Supervisor 2720 West Pullman Road Moscow, ID 83843 (208) 882-5578 Fax (208) 882-8150 show@appaloosa.com

Name of Regional Club / International Partner ApHC # Pointkeeper s Name ApHC Membership # Complete Address Daytime Phone Number Fax Number E-mail address 703. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP APPALOOSA SHOW A. QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS OPEN CLASSES 1. Under the National Point System, individual owners may qualify horses by meeting the minimum number of point requirements if they are current members in good standing in the ApHC. Those shows which have gained ApHC approval and have met all requirements will count for national points. 2. Under the regional club/international partner system, a regional organization or international partner officially recognized as an affiliate in good standing with the ApHC may qualify up to its top five (5) horses for the World Championship Appaloosa Show in each class. In order for a regional club or international partner to be eligible to nominate horses for the World Championship Appaloosa Show under this system, that club/partner must have sponsored or co-sponsored at least one ApHCapproved show in that qualifying year which is judged by at least one ApHC-approved judge and that regional club or international partner may only nominate horses in classes in which such horses exhibited in that club s or partner s sponsored or co-sponsored show. a. Regional clubs/international partners may design their own point system but must meet the following conditions: i. Each show used for regional qualifying points must be an ApHC-approved show. Organizations, clubs or individuals desiring to sponsor or stage shows which will be approved by the ApHC, and which will include the awarding of national points to the top-placing horses entered in the show must obtain approval from the Appaloosa Horse Club. ii. Owners of horses qualifying under this provision must be active members of the organization submitting the nomination. iii. A horse may receive only one (1) World Show invitation per class. If it earns an invitation under the National Point System, it becomes ineligible to be nominated by a Regional Club or International Partner for that class. Only the top five (5) ranking horses from the Regional Club/International Partner, regardless of whether the horse qualified under the National Point System, may receive the Regional Club/ International Partner invitation. In the event that all of the Regional Club s or International Partner s top five (5) horses qualify under the National Point System, no horse would qualify from that organization for that class. If a horse qualifies in more than one organization, it must use whichever qualification shows up first when Regional Clubs or International Partners are listed in alphabetical order. B. QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS NON-PRO CLASSES 1. Under the National Point System, non-pros may qualify by meeting the minimum number of point requirements in any age division (19 & over, 35 & over, masters) of a non-pro class which will entitle the non-pro to exhibit in any age division of that class, with the exception of halter. In halter, non-pros must earn the prescribed number of national points in any non-pro halter sex division (not per class) in order to be eligible to compete in any halter class in that sex division, excluding weanlings competing in weanling halter classes and weanlings and yearlings competing in hunter in hand classes. To earn points, the non-pro must be a current member in good standing in the ApHC, be enrolled in the non-pro program and meet ownership requirements of the horse they compete with in the class. Those shows which have gained ApHC approval and have met all requirements will count for national points. 2. Under the regional club/international partner system, a regional organization or international partner officially recognized as an affiliate in good standing with the ApHC may qualify up to its top five (5) nonpros for the World Championship Appaloosa Show in each class. In order for a regional club or international partner to be eligible to nominate non-pros for the World Championship Appaloosa Show under this qualifying system, that club or international partner must have sponsored or co-sponsored at Form A

least one ApHC-approved show in that qualifying year which is judged by at least one ApHCapproved judge and that club or partner may only nominate non-pros in classes in which such nonpros exhibited in that club s or partner s sponsored or co-sponsored show. The non-pro exhibitor of the horse must also be an active member of the organization submitting the nomination. iii. A non-pro may receive only one (1) World Show invitation per class. If the non-pro earns an invitation under the National Point System, he/she becomes ineligible to be nominated by a Regional Club or International Partner for that class. Only the top five (5) ranking non-pros from the Regional Club/International Partner, regardless of whether the non-pro qualified under the National Point System, may receive the Regional Club/International Partner invitation. In the event that all of the Regional Club s or International Partner s top five (5) non-pros qualify under the National Point System, no non-pro would qualify from that organization for that class. If a non-pro qualifies in more than one Regional Club or International Partner, he/she must use whichever qualification shows up first when Regional Clubs or International Partners are listed in alphabetical order. C. QUALIFYING REQUIREMENT DEADLINES 1. Point cut-off date for qualifying under both the National Point System and the regional club/ international partner system is August 31. For shows after that date, the points shall be counted toward the following year. All show results, regional club and international partner nominations and current regional/international partner membership lists must be sent by certified mail return receipt or other guaranteed mail service, and must be in the ApHC office by the following deadlines: a. Shows held prior to August 1 all results, nominations and membership lists must be received by the ApHC no later than August 15. Call ApHC for permission to receive an extension on this deadline. b. Shows held on or after August 1 all results, nominations and membership lists must be received by the ApHC no later than September 5. c. Shows whose approved Appaloosa classes begin on or before August 31 and run continuously into September will count toward the current year s World Show qualifications. These show results also must be in the ApHC office by September 5, NO EXCEPTIONS. d. If the above requirements are not in the ApHC office by September 5, each show will be fined $100 and the points will be carried over to the next year. As Pointkeeper for the above named regional club/international partner, I have read and I understand rule 703 and I have complied with rule 703 in nominating horses and non-pro exhibitors for the World Show.
