Dan Zaicek takes a Hippo and Croc We were so happy to welcome Dan and his girlfriend Connie to South Africa for a great hunt! We met Dan in Harrisburg in 2016 and it was great to finally have the couple over! Dan was on a mission for a hippo and croc, and he sure did succeed! Dan also took down a great buffalo and some other trophies. The rifle that Dan used for all of the animals, except the Caracal, was a 375 Ruger. 300 grain solid was used on a between the eyes head shot on the Hippo, taking him down at 80 yards. The croc was lying on the riverbank at 90 yards. This was the most difficult of all the shots. We had to belly crawl about 100 feet to get a makeable shot. 300 grain DLX took the top off the croc's head. Better to be lucky than good!" The 300 grain DLX also stopped an absolutely spectacular buffalo in his tracks with a 50 yard frontal shot... Dan additionally took a bushbuck, which was shot with a solid and with a pass through; damage was minimal. A d l l t k d! https://us11.admin.mailchimp.com/campaigns/show?id=1161409 8/25
A grand caracal was also taken down! https://us11.admin.mailchimp.com/campaigns/show?id=1161409 9/25
