GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES OF THE SHOW ADMISSION TO THE RING No person shall be permitted to enter the ring except participants in the class, judge, their assistants and show officials. Attendants and grooms may enter the ring only when summoned by order of the judge. In all classes requiring attendants in the ring, proper attire is required. AWARDS PROGRAMS AHA Value Shows only count toward AHA qualifications and programs. BARN DAMAGE Exhibitors will be financially responsible for any damage to their stalls on the premises. Do not put nails into sidewalls. Stalls must be vacated in their original condition. Stalls may not be structurally altered in any way without assistance from the Pima County Fairgrounds staff. ALL DAMAGES WILL BE BILLED BACK TO THE EXHIBITORS. CANCELLATION OR SUBSTITUTION OF ENTRIES To encourage early entries the management agrees to cancel and refund entry fees on any horse not fit to show providing written notice and a veterinary certificate are given to the Show Secretary by March 18, 2019. Cancellation of entries after this date, for any reason, shall forfeit all fees at the decision of the Show Committee. Request for refund must be submitted to the show office before the end of the show. Substitution of horses will be permitted at the discretion of the show committee. CLASS CALLS Due to unforeseeable problems with any mechanical device; the PA system, paddock and barn calls must be considered a courtesy. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate at the prescribed time. Every effort will be made to maintain a working PA system to carry class calls; however, no protest will be upheld, nor will any class be changed on the basis of PA malfunction alone. COMMERCIAL VENDORS Fees are $45 per day with electrical hookup and $30 a day without. Trailer and tent space will be $60 a day. Set up may begin on Thursday, March 21, 2019 and must be removed no later than Monday, March 25, 2019. Security is the vendor s responsibility; SAAHA will not be responsible for merchandise left on the grounds. Space location will be determined by show management, contact Randi Preiser, (520) 240-0124, to make reservations. DOGS Pima Country and the Southwest Fair Commission require dogs to be on a leash at all times. Loose dogs may be detained by Fairground personnel and owners charged a fine. Owners are also expected to clean-up after dogs; supplies are provided throughout the Fairgrounds. A Brekke Road turn right; follow the road until you see the Pima County Fairgrounds entrance on the left and turn in. Follow the road to the covered arena. Copies of Registration papers and current AHA competition membership cards for owners, trainers and riders must be presented at time of entries. Note: AHA Membership/Competition card is not required for a parent or guardian signing the entry form for minors. Show and warm-up rings will not be prepared on the early move in date but exercise areas will be available (lounging areas). FEED & BEDDING Feed and bedding will be available on the show grounds at competitive prices. Payment must be made to the feed & bedding manager at the time of ordering. NO STRAW IS ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS. Please call your order in advance to Pima County Fairgrounds at (520) 940-3143. HORSES NOT COMPETING: Horses brought to the show grounds but not entered in the show must pay the appropriate stall fees and the office fee. No exceptions. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (BACK NUMBER) Every horse entered in the show will be assigned an identification number. It is important for the proper handling of the show that correct numbers be worn by the riders and handlers in all classes. JUDGE It is a violation to commit any act or make any remarks during the show that are considered offensive and/or made with the intent to influence or to cast aspersions on the judging. No one shall approach a judge with regard to decision at any time unless they first obtain permission from Show Management, who will make arrangements for an appointment with the judge at a proper time and place. LEADLINE CLASS RULES Open to riders 2 6 years old. Leaders must be at least fourteen years of age. Saddle must fit rider; rider s feet must be engaged in the stirrups/irons. Leading rein must be attached to a cavesson or a halter placed under or over the bridle (NOT TO THE BIT). It is strongly encouraged that the rider wears protective headgear with harness secured. Boots are required. There shall be only one rider on each horse entered. Stallions are prohibited. Leaders are to walk on the near side of the horse. LOCATION OF CLASSES Show management reserves the right to hold classes or portions of classes on the grounds outside the designated arena(s) or change arena assignments if it is found necessary to do so or to change and modify the schedule of events as necessary to accommodate the entries received. JACKPOT CLASSES We are offering 4 Jackpot Performance classes - Arabian Western Pleasure ATR; Arabian Hunter Pleasure ATR; HA/AA Western Pleasure ATR & HA/AA Hunter Pleasure ATR. Enter classes as you would any other. In addition to the regular class fee you will add $20 for the jackpot - per class. The Jackpot classes will payout total jackpotted fees to first 3 places: 2 horses = 70%/30% and 3 horses = 50%/30%/20%. All prize money must be picked up at the show; no checks will be mailed. SAAHA will not be responsible for payment of prize money 60 days after date of issuance. Please cash checks promptly! MEDICAL WASTE warning: Medical waste (needles, syringes, etc) must be discarded only in special sharps containers located in each barn. OPEN BREED CLASSES Are open to all breed of horses. English Type combines Hunter and Saddleseat horses/tack. Arabian & HA/AA horses may participate in the rated portion of the show but Walk/Trot riders are limited and cannot cross-enter any canter classes. All Open Breed class entries are to follow all horse show entry rules. AHA membership is not required for Open Breed classes unless the horse is also showing in the rated portion of the show. These classes are non-rated and will not count towards any AHA programs. USEF rules will be followed in the judging of the classes with the exception of riding attire. Exhibitors are encouraged to wear safety helmets. Proper footwear to the type of class is required. Jackets or full riding suits are permitted but not required. Headers are allowed in all the 10 & Under classes as well as the Walk/Trot 11-17. 11

GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES OF THE SHOW PARKING AND TRAILER AREA Specific areas have been set aside for parking of horse trailers and vans of exhibitors reserving stalls. The Barn Manager will direct you to these areas when you check in. Handicapped RV parking is available by special coordination with Show Management. No parking is allowed between the barns or in areas designated as no parking. POST ENTRIES A one-time post entry fee of $40 per horse will be assessed to those entries not postmarked by March 11, 2019. Post entries for classes will close at the end of the preceding session. There will be no entry at the gate; anyone doing so will be charged all additional fees. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to be properly entered in their respective classes. REFUSAL OF ENTRIES The Show Management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally or to cancel any entries of any exhibitor. RIBBONS: All classes will be awarded to 6 th place RODE DID NOT ENTER (RDNE): Any entry which shows in a class in which it was not properly entered will be charged the regular class fee plus a $25.00 RDNE fee. To be properly entered in a class, the class must have been listed on the original entry blank or on a properly submitted Add/Scratch Form in the horse show office. Telling the paddock manager or gate personnel to add an entry to a class does not constitute a proper entry and will result in the RDNE charge. Further, the paddock master or gate personnel are not responsible for keeping an exhibitor out of a class that is not properly entered. RV SPACE is available. Contact Pima County Fairgrounds at (520) 762-9100, ext 1025, Monday Friday, 8:00 am 4:00 pm, to make reservations. Due to Fairground regulations, any RVs or trailers with living quarters found using hookups without the RV permit provided displayed in the window of the unit will be assessed another RV fee by the Fairgrounds. SECURITY Exhibitors and vendors are advised that it is their responsibility to secure all of their valuables while on the show grounds. SAAHA will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. No security will be provided by the show. SHOW RULES Classes will be run and adjudicated based on the current USEF Rulebook. All decisions made by the Judge and/ or Show Management are final and cannot be protested. Show Management reserves the right to ask any exhibitor to leave the show grounds for any reason including but not limited to: unsportsmanlike conduct and animal cruelty. STALLS Will be available starting at 9:00 am on Thursday and must be vacated by 12:00 midnight on Sunday. Each horse must be assigned a separate stall (except brood mares with suckling foals). If you have any special requests for stabling, please submit them with your entry but once assignments have been made, do not deviate without the specific approval of the Barn Manager. Stalls are located in the concrete Barns A, B & C. Horse stalls & tack/grooming stalls are $35 per day or any part thereof or $100 for the show (Mar 21-24) and may be limited depending on the number of entries received. Anyone using a stall will be charged for it. This includes temporarily tying a horse or storing supplies and/or tack. NO SMOKING IN THE BARN AREA. Only manure must be placed in areas designated. Violators caught placing anything other than manure and shavings in designated areas will be fined. TBA (To Be Announced) Classes There are 15 TBA slots that are offered on a first request basis. Please contact the Show Secretary if you would like to request a TBA class. Show Management reserves the right to change the designation of a TBA class in the interest of the flow of the show schedule. TBA slots only apply for Arabian/Half-Arabian classes. The fee to add a TBA class is $20 plus the normal class fee; there is no post entry penalty to enter TBA a TBS class. TBA classes will be announced and posted in the show office as added. If these classes are not filled, the class number will be canceled and the next class will begin immediately. Classes are to be selected from the AHA Show Class List with the following exceptions: Dressage, Carriage Pleasure Driving Classes with Obstacles, Cutting, Working Hunter, Jumper, Ranch Sorting, Herd work/ranch Cutting, Western Dressage, Working Cow Horse, and Reined Cow Horse for both Arabians & Half-Arabians/Angelo-Arabians. I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in the Competition with my horse, as a rider, driver, handler, vaulter, longeur, lessee, owner, agent, coach, trainer, or as parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor. I am fully aware and acknowledge that horse sports and the Competition involve inherent dangerous risks of accident, loss, and serious bodily injury including broken bones, head injuries, trauma, pain, suffering, or death. ( Harm ). I AGREE to hold harmless and release the Federation and the Competition from all claims for money damages or otherwise for any Harm to me or my horse and for any Harm of any nature caused by me or my horse to others, even if the Harm arises or results, directly or indirectly, from the negligence of the Federation or the Competition. I AGREE to expressly assume all risks of Harm to me or my horse, including Harm resulting from the negligence of the Federation or the Competition. I AGREE to indemnify (that is, to pay any losses, damages, or costs incurred by) the Federation and the Competition and to hold them harmless with respect to claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims made by others for any Harm caused by me or my horse while at the Competition. I have read the Federation Rules about protective equipment, including GR801 and, if applicable, EV114, and I understand that I am entitled to wear protective equipment without penalty, and I acknowledge that the Federation strongly encourages me to do so while WARNING that no protective equipment can guard against all injuries. If I am a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor, I consent to the child s participation and AGREE to all of the above provisions and AGREE to assume all of the obligations of this Release on the child s behalf I represent that I have the requisite training, coaching and abilities to safely compete in this competition. I AGREE that if I am injured at this competition, the medical personnel treating my injuries may provide information on my injury and treatment to the Federation on the official USEF accident/injury report form.
