MID-WINTER CLASSIC 2018 TOURNAMENT RULES REGULATIONS This is a USA Hckey sanctined turnament. Teams are required t bring their fficial team rster, as well as, their travel permit (if required by their respective gverning bdy). Players and caches shuld reprt t the arena at least ne hur prir t each game. A maximum f fur team fficials may be n the player s bench at ne time. Each team will prvide a penalty bx fficial. Each TEAM is respnsible fr prviding their wn pucks fr warm-ups and water bttles. Teams playing at Shady Side Academy (McKnight Arena) are nt permitted t use their wn pucks. This is a nn-marking puck facility and pucks will be prvided fr teams at this arena ONLY. All teams must be prepared t begin any game 15 minutes ahead f schedule. The hme team will wear white jerseys and visitrs wear dark. SCORING RULES All divisins will be scred 2 pints fr a win, 1 pint fr a tie, and 0 pints fr a lss per game. Any frfeited games will be recrded as a 3-0 scre. Any frfeited games affecting anther team s playff status, may be reviewed by the turnament directr t determine which teams advance beynd preliminary rund play. Use f ineligible players will disqualify a team frm the turnament. All games played by a disqualified team will be frfeited. N mnies will be refunded. If a team is dwn by 6 r mre gals in the 3rd perid, running time will cmmence. Stp time WILL be used fr Penalties, Injuries and Gals (P.I.G.). If the gap is clsed by 1 (ne) gal, stp time will resume. The maximum gal differential attainable per game is +/-6 (example f running clck, 6-0 start f 3rd is running time if the game gets t 6-1 then Stp Time begins again). There will be n run time in Semi-Final r Finals games. OFFICIALS All Turnament fficials are current members in gd standing f USA Hckey and are deemed qualified t fficiate at the level f play assigned. A zer tlerance fr verbal abuse is in effect and will be enfrced fr all team fficials, players, and spectatrs. Apprpriate penalties will be assessed fr disputing r arguing a decisin f the fficials, any visual demnstratin f dissatisfactin, r fr the use f bscene r vulgar language t anyne. The turnament directr des nt have the authrity t reverse the decisins f the game fficials. USA HOCKEY RULES This turnament is sanctined by USA Hckey. The fllwing USA Hckey rules may nt be familiar t teams frm ther affiliates: Any player receiving 5 r mre penalties in 1 game will be ejected and must sit the fllwing game. If a team receives 15 r mre penalties in ne game, the head cach must sit the fllwing game. There is n center ice red line except fr icing. There is NO ff-sides tag-up rule fr PeeWee and belw. Canadian teams are required t wear prtective equipment as defined by their gverning bdy. Anyne receiving a game miscnduct must sit the next game. Anyne receiving a match penalty is disqualified frm further play.

MID-WINTER CLASSIC RULES CONTINUED The acting turnament directr (ATD) reserves the right t take measures necessary t ensure a safe turnament fr the participants including the mdificatin f any rule(s) herein which is deemed by him/her t be in the turnament s best interest. Decisins f the ATD are final. GAME FORMAT All teams are guaranteed fur (4) games. Games can start up t fifteen (15) minutes early, s please be cgnizant f remaining time in previus game. There will be a three (3) minute warm-up prir t each game. Perid Lengths: 12U, 15-15-15 10U, Rund Rbin 12-12-15 Playffs, 15-15-15 Preliminary games can end in a tie. All Playff games will be played t a winner. In the event a Playff game shuld end in a tie, the tie will be brken in the fllwing manner: Three (3) n three (3) fr three (3) minutes. If a penalty is assessed the nn-penalized team will add a player fr a pwer play. Fllwed by a three (3) player shtut Fllwed by a sudden death shtut cnsisting f players wh have nt participated in the three (3) player shtut. Each head cach will designate three (3) skaters t represent the team in the shtut prir t the game with an asterisk by their names n the scre sheet. If a designated skater is either injured r serving a penalty, the cach must chse anther skater t participate in the shtut. Each designated skater fr bth teams will alternate shts, hme team first, with all six (6) players shting unless the advantage by ne team is ut f reach. If the scre remains tied, new players will participate in a sudden death sht ut with the visiting team shting first. The players in the 1st grup f 3 may nt sht until all ther eligible players n their team have had a turn. Galies are nt eligible t participate. PLAYOFFS AND CONSOLATION GAMES Please refer t turnament results nline r speak t a turnament fficial in rder t determine the playff frmat fr each divisin. It is incumbent upn the team fficials t cnfirm with a Turnament representative the game time f their final game prir t leaving the arena fllwing their final preliminary rund game. Tiebreakers -T determine teams seeding, if mre than 2 teams are tied, as sn as the tie is brken, the tie breaker is reapplied t any remaining ties. Head t Head Cmpetitin -Direct play between tw tied teams. Gal Fr/(Gals Fr + Gals Against) -The team with the greater percentage will advance. The 6 gal cap is used t calculate this frmula. S if yu win 10-1 the frmula will use 7-1. Fewest Gals Against Quickest Gal Scred (in rund rbin game) Cin Tss A 30 secnd time ut per team, per game, is allwed fr any playff game. N time uts are allwed fr preliminary rund play r Cnslatin games. These rules may be amended prir t the turnament t cincide with any changes in the turnament frmat.
