Annunciation School Newsletter Annunciationbvm.org April 12, 2017 I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do. John 13:15 Dear Parents, We have had a wonderful time reading our One Book, One School selection Masterpiece! I have been so impressed by the variety of great learning that came from this book for all of our students. The students have made great art projects and written creative stories about Marvin and James. Classes studied Religion lessons based on the virtues in the story. Many of our classes have enjoyed having a class pet bug that traveled home with each student to have fun adventures. Tomorrow we will end our study of Masterpiece with a school assembly where each class will showcase some of their projects. Most of our classes will then stay in the gym for a special movie day watching Disney s A Bug s Life. We ll see life from the perspective of the movie s bug friends Flik, Hopper and Dot. Home and School will supply the children with some juice and snacks at an intermission. We have an exciting surprise for the whole school to culminate One Book, One School 2017 all students in Kindergarten through 8 th grade will have a field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago on Monday, May 1!! This amazing opportunity is being provided by our generous Home & School Association. You will receive a separate email via SchoolSpeak with all the details of this trip. Permission slips will go home tomorrow with your oldest/only child. Samples of the new uniform polos are on display in the school office if you are interested in seeing the new designs. I am very excited for our new look. Remember that the polos with logos are not mandatory until 2018-2019, but your child can begin to wear them next year (or even the rest of this year). Dennis Uniform is now ready to accept walk-in purchases of our new polos and other items with our logo at their Lombard store. Dennis Uniform will also host a sale at Aurora Central Catholic High School on July 30 & 31. As I mentioned last week we will not need to use our emergency days; therefore the last day of school will be Friday, June 2 with a 2:00pm dismissal. Next year s calendar has been submitted to the diocesan office for approval and we will have the complete 2017-2018 calendar on the school s website after spring break. Some important dates for the beginning of the year: Packet pick-up Monday, August 21 First Day of School K-8 Wednesday, August 23 First Day of Preschool Monday, August 28 Grandparents Day Friday, September 15 I would like to wish each of our families a blessed Easter! May you enjoy the peace of Christ s Resurrection! Enjoy the break! Sincerely, Mrs. Jennifer Wardynski

It is all for a GREAT CAUSE, our CHILDREN! The next Tech Team Meeting will be after Easter Break on Thursday, April 27th at 3:10pm to 4:30pm. It will be with Team White. The meeting for Team Blue will be on May 4th at 3:10pm to 4:30pm. If any member is unable to attend please let me know prior to the schedule meeting. Thank you! Mrs. Winkel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the last Tech Team Meeting there were many tasks accomplished that ended up taking longer than anticipated, which didn't allow time for rolling out something new to Team White. The members were shown how to open up one of the computer labs cpu's and where the RAM is located. They discussed what it is and why it's necessary. From there they went into the computer properties on every computer in the lab to confirm that each computer was running on full RAM (installed memory). Members also did temporary file cleanup as necessary. A "Thank you" goes to the small group of members that volunteered to help put onto cardstock the new hallway signs that all the students in the upper building made. These signs are ready to be hung after Easter, which will bring a new look when everyone returns from break. I hope everyone has a very happy, safe & relaxing Easter break! Mrs. Winkel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CAMP ROCK TREASURE BREAD SALE Will you be seeing family and friends this Easter Break? Don t forget your Treasure Bread order form from the April 5 th newsletter so they can have the opportunity to experience the Deliciousness of Treasure Bread. They won t be disappointed!
