GAME NOTES Clearwater (27-27) at Tampa (27-27) Game No. 55 June 5, 2015 Starting Pitchers: RHP Yacksel Rios (1-1) vs LHP Chaz Hebert (3-4) Shark Bytes THRESHERS FALL IN HEARTBREAKER, 3-2 AT TAMPA: The Clearwater Threshers held a 2-1 edge on the Tampa Yankees heading into the final frame on Thursday night, but the Yankees emerged with the victory on a walk-off, two-run home run by Ericson Leonara in the series opener at George M. Steinbrenner Field. It was the first time the Threshers suffered a walk-off loss this season, and the first game Clearwater has lost when leading after seven innings. The Threshers had previously been 20-0 when holding an advantage after the seventh. PULLIN POWER: Andrew Pullin launched a two-run homer in the second inning last night to increase his team lead to four home runs this season. After a day off on Tuesday, Pullin has gone 4-for-8 in his last two games, including a homer and three RBIs. STAYING ALIVE: With the Threshers and Tortugas both losing yesterday, Clearwater remains five games back of first-place Daytona in the FSL North. The Threshers have 16 games left to play in the first half, including three against the Tortugas at Bright House Field in the final series of the half. THREE IS KEY: Clearwater was held scorelss beyond the second inning yesterday, stranding the bases loaded in both the eighth and ninth innings. Plating at least three runs per game has been key for Clearwater this year. In games in which the Threshers have scored three or more, Clearwater sports a 24-8 record. HEAD-TO-HEAD: Clearwater and Tampa will face off for the eighth of 18 meetings in 2015. The Threshers are 2-5 against Tampa, including a 1-3 record at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
