However, it doesn t have to stay that way. Mix it up at Lunch day is a national movement. It s a day of action when teachers and students make a difference and break through the social boundaries in their schools. On Tuesday, November 9, 2010, join students in thousands of schools as they sit with someone new at lunch and break down the walls that divide us.

Grayslake Middle School Family Book Club/Reading Night Dear Parents or Guardians, The Grayslake family book club is an exciting and motivating program at the middle school. The book club is open to all seventh and eighth grade students and their family members and/or guardians. If you are interested in participating, fill out the bottom of this form and return to your student s homeroom teacher. This year we will be looking to you for suggestions on what book will be the selection for family book club/reading night. The bottom portion of this form must be received no later than Thursday, November 18, 2010. Once we have received these returned forms, we will then make our book selection. All interested families will then be given one complimentary copy of the chosen book; these will go home prior to winter break. Our Family Reading Night will take place in February 2011, with more specific information to be forthcoming. On that evening students and their families will celebrate the reading of the selected book through refreshments, a whole group presentation, and small group discussion break out sessions on the novel. Babysitting and reading of age-appropriate books will be provided for younger siblings. This night is a fun way for students and their parents, guardians, siblings, relatives, etc., to share reading in an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere. Sincerely, The Family Book Club/Reading Night Staff Please fill out the bottom of this letter and return by Friday, November 20 if you and your Grayslake Middle School student would like to commit to participating in the Grayslake Middle School Family Book Club/Reading Night. Literary Magazine, Ink83 Preorder form for Students and Staff Due to the sheer volume of submissions we have received last year, we are trying to combat costs of including as many submissions as possible, while still having some color in the magazine. Subsequently, we regret that we will have to charge a nominal fee per magazine. By reserving your copy in advance, this pre-ordering will allow us to make only the specific number of copies of the magazine that are needed, further helping to reduce costs, with the possibility of having the magazine professionally printed. Please fill out the bottom portion of the form and have your student return it with the corresponding cash or check (Made Payable to CCSD #46) to his/her homeroom teacher. The deadline for the pre-ordering form and fees is Wednesday, May 11, 2011. This will ensure we have time to process the orders and print the magazine before the end of the school year. Thank you in advance for your support. Please contact Mrs. DeLongchamp at delongchamp.yvonne@d46.org or Ms. Dunham at dunham.rebecca@d46.org if you have any questions. Thank you!
