All animals must have a current signed and embossed approval form. Please use the 4-H Horse Entry Form included in this book to list your entries and mail with proof of insurance, W-9 form, approval form, camping application (if Applicable) and any fees to the above address. Entry form also available from local extension office. **Rules subject to change without notice** This event is held to promote good sportsmanship and provide a learning experience for all 4-H youth. We encourage alumni and active volunteers and parents to participate in all appropriate classes. Use of abusive language and abuse of animals WILL lead to removal from the show. All decisions by the judge are final. Show starts at 10:00 AM in the Coliseum. Pre-registration is strongly suggested, send it in, it is easier to scratch than add. All registrations must be complete by 9:45 am Thursday August 9 th, 2018. No faxed or e-mailed entries will be allowed, no exceptions. Reservations must be made with Sherri Thornton for stalling arrangements. Request Stalls when sending in entry form. NO YOUTH UNDER 9 YEARS OF AGE MAY RIDE IN SHOW, OTHER CLASSES OFFERED The following MUST accompany your registration: 1. VALID COGGINS TEST (good for 3 years, 12 months if out of state) required upon entry to grounds 2. Proof of current Rabies vaccination 3. Other vaccinations in conjunction with the ME 4-H vaccination statement on the 4-H Website 4. EMBOSSED copy of your current approval form(for currently enrolled 4-H youth only) 5. Proof of Insurance. No stallions allowed in the show. Youth must be 13 years old and under to ride a pony in this event. A pony is defined as being 14 hands high or less. Exception to this rulewill be the POA (Pony of America) and Halflingers or Fjords. Cloverbuds will be 5-8 years old; Juniors will be 9-13 years old; Seniors will be 14 years and older. If the number of entries allows an intermediate division will be added for ages 12-13. All ages are as of January 1st of the current year. All holds will be for a maximum of 3 minutes. Only one hold is allowed for a class. Holds must be requested at least one class in advance on the appropriate form at the announcer booth. All protests must be submitted prior to the end of the show on the appropriate form with protest fee that is available at the announcer's booth. Show committee decisions will be final. Fee returned if finding is to the favor of person filing the protest. NO SNEAKERS for riders. Cloverbuds - Present you model horse in a farm or stable scene for the judge s inspection. Use our creativity but be realistic. PLEASE LABEL 09 Model Horse Stable Scene: Juniors - Same rules as class 7. 10 Model Horse Stable Scene: Seniors - Same rules as class 7. 11 Western Halter Horse: This is a conformation class for stock type horses and ponies. Shown in a halter, no bridles. 12 Open Western Halter Horse: Same requirements as class 05. Open 13 English Horse/Pony in Hand: This is a type class. Looking for a horse that exhibits Hunter characteristics. Shown in English bridle or breed specific halters. 14 Open English Horse/Pony in Hand: Same requirements as class 07.
