Iroquois Athletics Bowling Any students who are thinking about trying out for the bowling teams this winter, please sign up in the Main Office! Field Hockey Yesterday, the Modified Field Hockey team began their season with a 3-0 win over Holland. Goals were scored by Caitlin Ehlenfield, Sydney Kosnik, and Kristen Petrinec. Ella Trepacz anchored a solid defense along with Ava Vergien. Leah Schmitz picked up where she left off last year and first timers Ava Jones and Addie Vergien came to play. Coach thanks everyone for putting forth a great team effort. Come cheer us on as we take on East Aurora today for the home opener!
Football The Boys Modified Football team improved to 2-0 yesterday with a 20-0 win over visiting Pioneer! For the second week in a row, the defense has posted a shutout. Leading the team in tackles was Thomas McNulty with 8 tackles, Jackson Whitmore with 6 tackles, and Trevor Barry with 4 tackles. Offensively, the Chiefs were led by the tandem of Evan Khor, Thomas McNulty, Connor Cichocki, Trevor Barry, and Nathan McGoldrick. Khor started the scoring with a 16 yard TD run and McGoldrick score on a 3 yard QB sneak. McGoldrick hit TE Connor Cichocki for the Chiefs last score. Great Job Boys! Volleyball The Boys JV Volleyball team lost a close one last night to visiting Maryvale 25-22, 24-26, 25-27. 8 th Grader Dane Mescall had some rocket serves and very aggressive net play! The Girls Modified Volleyball team opened their season by winning one game of the match against Cheektowaga. Congrats McKenna Sinibaldi, Cayla Partsch, Ella Miller, Lizzy Jankowski, and Grace Admaczak for their outstanding serving while tough solid defensive plays came from Megan Nottis, Morgan Kosnik, and Cheyenne Barnard. The girls are back on the road today against Pioneer.
