Remember that each KAP is specific to a project and each project should match up with one in which you enrolled. Go to 4-H Online and look at the list of projects if you are unsure of a project name. Juniors (ages 7-8) will have a personal page, KAP form, and one page of photographs in each book they complete. The story is part of the KAP in the junior division. It can be written in the space provided on the KAP form, or on a separate piece of paper. There are two optional pages along with the required page in Section 2 at the senior level. It is recommended that at least the optional financial page be completed. Check with your community leader to determine the date that your book(s) should be turned into your club. Community leaders will then make the decision as to which books to submit for county judging. Books selected for county judging must be at the Extension office no later than Monday, October 2 at 5:00 p.m. Please contact Paula Aiken at the Extension office, 785-843-7058, if you have questions or would like help completing your KAPs.

Douglas County 4-H Council Scholarship Program The Douglas County 4-H Council is excited to announce a scholarship program. The Douglas County 4-H Council Scholarship Program was established to provide financial assistance to encourage 4-H ers and adult volunteers to attend 4-H related conferences. Conference opportunities include but are not limited to: 4-H Camp, Campference, Discovery Days, KYLF, Kansas 4-H Volunteer Forum, adult trainings, etc. The funds used for this program are raised through the annual county fair 4-H concessions stand. The scholarship application is posted at http://www.douglas.k-state.edu/4-h/forms.html under the Scholarship Application heading. Return the completed form to the Extension office at least 14 days prior to the event registration deadline. Questions about the program can be directed to Kaitlyn Peine at kpeine@ksu.edu or 785-843-7058. 4-H Council Concession Stand Survey The 4-H Council Concession Stand Committee is seeking input from 4-H families about their volunteer experience at the concession stand. Each year the Douglas County 4-H Council hosts a concession stand at the county fair. For the past five years we have profited $9,000-$10,000 from the concession stand annually. Proceeds from the fair support our county-wide 4-H programs. In 2017 Council awarded $3,870 in scholarship dollars to 4-H'ers who attended 4-H camp, Discovery Days, Citizenship in Action, Kansas Youth Leadership Forum and 4-H Congress. Funds raised from the concession stand also support our 4-H Ambassador Program, 4-H Achievement Celebration, 4-H Club Day, 4-H Camp and more! We hope our 4-H families see the return on their investment for the 3-4 hour shift they work at the concession stand. Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. The survey will close on October 2, 2017. The survey is at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1faipqlsdhh6s0n2vd5cx0ug8svnruotw2ekj1vlqk4jyx6ymtfpa9eg/ viewform
