September 21, 2009 Minutes Motion approved Lou Keleher-Second Simon Sikora All in Favor-All Opposed-None-Status Approved Treasurer s Report-John Wieller unable to attend. Tax Update-No update Correspondence-Melody Talpas-FTAA received a thank you card from the Pennypacker Family Old Business 1. Melody Talpas-October 19, The FTAA received the $5000.00grant for the Field Hockey Program. 2. The FTAA Christmas Party will be held December 12 at the Widow s Tavern. RSVP to melody Talpas by November 16, 2009 New Business 1. FTAA discussed the Fund Raising Guidelines and Rules. 2. Add number nine to the Fund Raising Guidelines and Rules. 9. Any additional Fund Raising has to be approved by the FTAA Officers. 3. The FTAA would need to know what the fund raiser is and what isthe goal of the fund raiser. The 2010 Forks Baseball Tournament will be held June 24-27, 2010 2. 11 and 12 year olds will be changing from a 50 ft diamond to a and 70 ft diamond. 3. Simon Sikora requesting Baseball Field #7 to be cut out. 4. Ty Corallo requested Field #1 and Field #2 have their cuts extended, but the base pegs stay the same. Action: Chris Henry and Ty Corallo please talk to Mark Roberts about cutting out the fields. 5. Dan attended the Recreation Board Meeting. a. The town will line the fields in 2010. b. The town started the grading for the fields behind the arboretum about two weeks ago. c. The field will not be ready for the 2010 Softball/Baseball Season Basketball-Don Miller 1. The League Meeting last month seven organizations did not show. 2. November 1, is the next League Meeting. 3. November 14 the league information must be in 4. November 15 last chance to add or subtract teams. 5. December 9 Start games 6. December 21 stop for the holidays until January 4 7. March 15 the regular season is over and March 28 playoffs are finished 8. Currently 279 sign up 9. Background checks are mandatory 2

Cheerleading-Melody Talpas 1. Tuesday, October 13- Melody handed out the sweatshirts that the FTAA purchased for the three squads that won 1 st Place at the EAHS Cheerleading Clinic. 2. Melody thanked the FTAA for the sweatshirts. 3. The EAHS Halftime Showcase Competition was postponed until October 31, 2009 at 10:00am 4. October 4, Melody Filed a complaint with Dan and Fran in regards to referee at the Pen Argyl Game. The Referee had inappropriate behavior. He walked on the field during the last 40 seconds of the Midget Cheerleading routine and told the press box to cut the music. The cheerleaders continued and the referee called the football captains on the field. Fran said for home games the clock will run for ten minutes. The clock will start after the teams leave the field. Football-Fran Tone 1. Sunday, October 25, Forks Football will host playoff games. 2. 11:00a-Forks 10 year old Pee Wee-Nazareth Black 3. 12:30p-Forks 9 year old Pee Wee-East Side 4. 2:00p Game 5. 3:30p Forks Midgets vs Nazareth Black 6. 7 year old Jr. Pee Wee play Bangor at Williams. If they win they play Sunday vs Pen Argyl at Pen Argyl 7. 8 year old Jr. Pee Wee have a bye Action: Kelli Wilson and Simon Sikora please find volunteers for the Snack Bar for the playoff games on October 25. La Crosse-Scott Hardy 1. Off Season 2. Forks changed leagues. Forks will participate in the Lehigh Valley La Crosse League. Softball-Ty Corallo 1. Last tournament is October 31 Soccer-Gregor Wright/ Brett Morrow 1. No Report 3

Wrestling-Don Miers 1. November 2 Varsity and JV begin practice 6:00p-8:00p. 2. November 3 Novice will begin practice 6:00p-7:30p. 3. November 24 Eliminations will be held at the Community Center at 6:00p 4. The Wrestling Organization will pay the referee to officiate the eliminations. 5. Eliminations will be held twice. 6. Uniforms will be handed out on November 27th. 7. On December 6 th the first home match will take place against Saucon Valley. 8. Don Miers would like to have access to the locker rooms at the Wrestling Building. 9. As of October 2, there are33 Novice Wrestlers signed up and 28 JV and Varsity Wrestlers Action: Dan Martyak please ask Jim Farley about sending an updated sign up list. Action: Dan Martyak email Mark Roberts about the Wrestling Building be cleaned. Action: Don Miller will work with Lafayette about making sure that the Lafayette Wrestlers are completely finished by 5:30pm. Forks needs time to clean the mats before the Forks wrestlers practice. Action: Melody Talpas please email the Supervisors in regards to the purpose of the Wrestling Building and the dates and times that the wrestlers use the building. Committee Reports Background Checks-John Wieller 1. Dan stated the FTAA has a zero tolerance. Action: Don and Don make sure that the coaches all have their background checks. Community Days-Nancy Bonfanti 1. Nancy is distributing the prizes. Dances-Kevin Wall 1. Football Dance was held October 16. There were approximately 340 in attendance. 2. Approximately $1100.00 profit. 3. At 6:30p, there were only 14 chaperones. Twenty two chaperones eventually arrived. 4

First Aid-Matt Daud 1. Matt emailed his report. 2. There are 12 new first aid kits that were given to Butch Scerbo. 3. Matt also dropped off two more kits that needed ice packs. Guidelines-Nancy Bonfanti 1. Third round of reviews for the Fund Raising Guidelines and Rules. 2. The rules can be submitted to the Solicitor. 3. Nancy met with Jim Farley. They discussed the Opt Out. 4. Nancy stated that Jim Farley thought that the Opt Out may be too expensive for large families. 5. FTAA discussed the Opt Out Fees issues and decided that if the Opt Out fees were too expensive for families, than they would have to volunteer. Action: Dan Martyak please send the Volunteer Guidelines to Jim Farley, Bob Egolf, Bonnie Nicholas, and Butch Scerbo Recreation Board-Butch Scerbo 1. Report given by Dan Martyak. 2. Field Lining will be taken care of by the Township in 2010. 3. Dan advised Don Miers to attend the next Recreation Board meeting to discuss the Wrestling Program. 4. At the last Budget Meeting, the Recreation Board was informed that 2010 Recreation Budget was going to be $72,000. Last year, the Recreation Budget was cut from $107,000 to $72,000. The Recreation Board managed to provide the funds that the Commissioners requested. However, the 2010 Budget cut will impact the FTAA. 5. The Recreation Board has asked the FTAA to have the Commissioners re-evaluate their budgets. 6. Dan explained to the Recreation Board the FTAA income and expenses. Action: Commissioners must re-evaluate their budgets. Scholarships-Colleen Ziegenhorn 1. Colleen has no report. 5

Snack Bar-Kelli-Wilson 1. Snack Bar will need volunteers for the October 25, Playoff Game hosted by Forks. 2. Waiting for cooler from Pepsi. Pepsi took the broken cooler. 3. The Snack Bar Committee has been draining the used oil every game. 4. Indoor snack bar was cleaned. 5. Dan Martyak booked Monday of Thanksgiving week to have the snack bars cleaned. 6. Dan Martyak requested a proposal from the cleaning company in regards to having the snack bars cleaned. (April or May for the indoor Snack Bar) (July for the end of baseball ) (November for the end of football ) Sportswear-John Wieller 1. No Report Web Site-Ed Adamko 1. Web Site is up to date Michelle Rogers spoke to the FTAA. She said that she believes in sports and recreation. Michelle is willing to listen and open minded.
