You should have received an email from Election Buddy with a specific link for your membership to vote. Each member can vote only once, so don t share that email with anyone! If you are having difficulties, please contact me and I will help you out. Voting will remain open till November 4 at midnight. If you haven t already voted, please do so. The AGM is scheduled for 5:00 on November 5 th when we will announce the winners of the election. Please make the effort to show up for this important meeting. We will review what has been accomplished over the last year and let you provide input for the direction the club should take going forward. The draft agenda is below. We are keeping up with who participated, or who has taken on a task outside of workday. Please contact your Vice- Commodore, Richard Schott, if you need some direction on a project that needs to be done. You are also welcome to look around the club and take on a task you see that needs to be handled. Just let Richard or me know what you ve done so we can record your service. Ensign Series Enjoys Happy Days Following the cancelled races just before Hurricane Matthew, the Ensign fleet has enjoyed two perfect Thursdays with three races each and three different winners. The top two places are Blue Note (Team Mark & Mark) and Red Stripe (McCrocklin & Eckenroth). We hope they own second place throughout the series, but Darkside (Walt Mayer & Ed Weber) has been sailing very inspired, including a win in Race #6. There are four more Thursdays to go in this exciting series. So far we ve had seven boats on the line in every race. by Mark Brennesholtz Blackbeard Sailing Club, New Bern, NC!2

Social Committee News by Gay Whitney Our social this month was workday. Richard Schott lined up lots of projects and we worked hard, ate well and socialized, of course. It was a pictureperfect day after a distressing weather event. I'm letting our photos tell the story. We look ahead to our AGM in November. Our ladies have made great plans for creating just the right ambiance. Kathy Gormley and Polly Brown are hostessing this event. The theme is paying tribute to our Veterans, past and present. Guests are asked to bring a crockpot dish (stew, soup, chili) or salad to share. Desserts and breads are being provided. Jan and Bill Green are hosting our Thanksgiving Day Dinner. This year, six Marines have been invited to join us. Turkey entrée will be provided so our guests should contribute side dishes and desserts. For the Christmas social, Jenny Dark and I are working hard to make this a memorable gathering of friends. Look for blasts giving more details. Once again, feel free to wear your favorite UGLY sweater or splurge on a new one. This year, our event is on the same night as a big FHYC event. It will likely be a smaller event than in years past. That's fine, but we will try to plan the food by categories more carefully to have variety. Garden Gang Donations Thanks to generous donations from nearly a dozen members, we have reached the $750 goal for fall plantings. Look for red crepe myrtles, Knock Out Roses, dogwoods, and maybe redbuds to be planted this fall above and beyond what BSC has budgeted. Thank you all. We will be back to members again next year for a repeat. Blackbeard Sailing Club, New Bern, NC!6
