Shoeing Change: CAPRICORN DANCER Bar Shoe On (Near-fore) General: Trainer Mr J Warwick was granted permission to exclude QUILISTA from the main parade ring due to its previous pre-race behaviour. Inquiries were held into incidents near the 150m and 75m. Evidence was taken from the riders of QUILISTA (W Pike), FANCY FOX (L Staples), LE PATRON (R Tan), DETANGO (D Staeck) and CAPRICORN DANCER (B Parnham). Jockey Coach, Mr J Claite was present. It was established that approaching the 150m when impeded for clear running, DETANGO shifted outwards and as a result carried CAPRICORN DANCER outwards resulting in that runner being held tight and the rider having to restrain his mount. Jockey D Staeck was subsequently warned and told that in similar circumstances he is to ensure there is sufficient room before allowing his mounts to improve to avoid interference to other runners. When assessing this incident Stewards were of the opinion that LE PATRON had shifted outwards marginally which was a contributing factor to this incident. In relation to DETANGO being held tight and restrained near the 75m it was established that QUILISTA when racing tightly and laying outwards made contact with LE PATRON to its outside, resulting in that runner shifting outwards marginally and at the same time FANCY FOX, which was improving quickly to the outside of DETANGO, had shifted inwards marginally when there was some contact to her mount s hind quarters resulting in the above interference.
