VITAL BLAST Bumped and taken inwards passing the 700m. Steadied off heels and taken inwards passing the 125m to obtain clear running. COME ON OVER Rider advised that the filly was dissapointing in her performance and came under pressure early and failed to finish the race off as anticipated. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. FABERGINO Raced keenly in the early stages. General: In relation to VITAL BLAST being steadied near the 125m, Jockey T Turner (LIES IN DISGUISE) was advised to exercise more caution when shifting ground in the straight in future. RACE 2: LAVAZZA HANDICAP - 1600M DEZZIES DREAM Rider advised that he had anticipated taking up a forward position, however whilst attempting to get cover he had finished up further back than he would have liked to have been. A post-race Veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities. Co-Trainers G and A Williams will be contacted by the Stewards in relation to the disappointing performance. DARK MUSKET Impeded from heels over the final stages. TERROR FORCE Lay outwards on straightening. TUCKY'S LAD Dislodged its off-hind shoe in the pre-mounting enclosure and it was subsequently re-fitted prior to the gelding entering the parade ring. Raced keenly in the early stages. RACE 3: KIRIN MEGUMI HANDICAP - 1200M Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to review several angles of the patrol film over the concluding stages with no further action taken. DISTANT MEMORY Rider reported that the mare felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr T Widdeson advised that he will now send the mare for a spell. QUILISTA Lay outwards in the straight. FANCY FOX Hindquarters bumped outwards passing the 150m and then lay inwards for the remainder.

ASCOT : 29.04.17 210/2 Race 3 cont: QUEEN OF CHOICE Following the disappointing performance, a post-race Veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr D Harrison advised that he will have the mare undergo an endoscopic examination and report the finding to the Stewards. LE PATRON Race wide in the middle stages. Raced in restricted room and brushed by another runner passing the 75m. DETANGO Impeded for clear running in the straight and when approaching the 150m angled outwards to secure clear running. Carried out and steadied near the 75m. MASSACHUSETTS Commenced awkwardly and bumped, losing one length. CAPRICORN DANCER Tightened and restrained passing the 150m. FIRST TRADE Following the disappointing performance, a post-race Veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr A Mathews advised that the mare s next start will be in an event of a lesser grade. Shoeing Change: CAPRICORN DANCER Bar Shoe On (Near-fore) General: Trainer Mr J Warwick was granted permission to exclude QUILISTA from the main parade ring due to its previous pre-race behaviour. Inquiries were held into incidents near the 150m and 75m. Evidence was taken from the riders of QUILISTA (W Pike), FANCY FOX (L Staples), LE PATRON (R Tan), DETANGO (D Staeck) and CAPRICORN DANCER (B Parnham). Jockey Coach, Mr J Claite was present. It was established that approaching the 150m when impeded for clear running, DETANGO shifted outwards and as a result carried CAPRICORN DANCER outwards resulting in that runner being held tight and the rider having to restrain his mount. Jockey D Staeck was subsequently warned and told that in similar circumstances he is to ensure there is sufficient room before allowing his mounts to improve to avoid interference to other runners. When assessing this incident Stewards were of the opinion that LE PATRON had shifted outwards marginally which was a contributing factor to this incident. In relation to DETANGO being held tight and restrained near the 75m it was established that QUILISTA when racing tightly and laying outwards made contact with LE PATRON to its outside, resulting in that runner shifting outwards marginally and at the same time FANCY FOX, which was improving quickly to the outside of DETANGO, had shifted inwards marginally when there was some contact to her mount s hind quarters resulting in the above interference. All riders were reminded of their obligations to prevent their mounts from shifting or further action could be taken against them. RACE 4: SEACORP HANDICAP - 1000M MARCHAND Co-Trainer Mr Robert Harvey advised that the gelding will now be sent for a spell. SHADY GRAY Slow into stride losing one length. FLYTEGO Held up for clear running until approaching the 200m. THE RIVER Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Lay outwards over the final stages. Shoeing Change: MARCHAND Bar Shoe On (Near-fore) RACE 5: TABTOUCH HANDICAP - 1200M NEXT GENERATION Impeded approaching the 1400m. THE CELT Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Bounded on jumping getting its head in the air. Raced wide in the middle stages. SWIFT PLATINUM Raced keenly and wide throughout. Following the disappointing performance, a post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed a minor laceration to the near-fore pastern. Trainer Mr R Price advised that he believed the gelding may have choked down during running and will consider making a gear change and will advise Stewards of his intentions. HOBOKEN Lay outwards on straightening.

ASCOT : 29.04.17 210/3 Race 5 cont: KARLAKEE MISS In relation to the filly leading today, rider advised that after being caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and as a result obtain the lead in the early stages which was contrary to his instructions which were to have the filly race with cover in a mid-field position. Rider further advised that his mount had layed outwards throughout. MR UNDERCOVER Raced keenly in the early stages. PERSIAN PRINCESS Impeded for clear running in the straight until approaching the 125m RACE 6: GRANT THORNTON HANDICAP - 1200M NATURALISTE Rider reported that the gelding raced keenly through the early and middle stages and was under pressure passing the 600m. Following the disappointing performance, a post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr K Allen will monitor its recovery and advise Stewards of any abnormalities. WICKED HUNTER Raced keenly in the early stages. HINCHINBEEL Fractious in the barriers prior to the start becoming cast. Acting upon Veterinary advice was withdrawn by the Stewards at 3.31pm. Stewards subsequently ordered that all monies wagered on HINCHINBEEL ($21) be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers all successful wagers made prior to 3.31pm to be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket: 1 st ) STAR GLITTER less 4c win and 4c place 2 nd ) PIRATE'S FORTUNE less 6c place 3 rd ) TRAVELLIN' less 4c place A Veterinary examination revealed it to have suffered a minor abrasion to the near hind pastern. ACADEMY GEORGE Slow into stride, losing two lengths. A post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Due to the uncompetitive performance Trainer Mr D Barker was advised that the gelding will be restricted to racing at Provincial and Country meetings until it shows an improvement in form. RACE 7: AMELIA PARK LAMB HANDICAP - 1400M DENDEE Bumped on jumping. Carried outwards by another runner on straightening and raced in restricted room and steadied. MILITARY RULER Slow into stride, losing one length. Carried outwards by another runner on straightening and bumped. Rider advised that the gelding raced further back in the field than anticipated after commencing slowly. MAJINIKA Impeded rounding the home turn and angled outwards to obtain clear running. RED PUBLISHER Bumped on straightening when racing wide. DANEFIN Impeded for a short distance on straightening and angled outwards shortly after to obtain clear running. WAR GOD Bumped outwards by another runner on straightening. KNOT AFRAID Raced keenly in the early stages. Held tight and Steadied from heels rounding the home turn and shifted outwards. A post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Due to the uncompetitive performance Trainer Mr G Dupre was advised that the gelding will be restricted to racing at Provincial and Country meetings until it shows an improvement in form. General: Stewards inquired into the reasons for DENDEE (T Stone) being held tight and steadied on straightening. It was established that on straightening KNOT AFRAID (P Knuckey) when yielding ground was held tight by MAJINIKA (C Johnston-Porter) with that gelding then shifting outwards onto WAR GOD (B Parnham) with that runner shifting outwards towards MILITARY RULER (M Autier) resulting in that runner being carried outwards onto DENDEE which was tightened.

ASCOT : 29.04.17 210/3 Race 7 cont: After considering all evidence Stewards cautioned Apprentice C Johnston-Porter and Jockey M Autier for allowing their mounts to shift outwards which were both contributing factors to this incident and further, Stewards were of the opinion that DANEFIN (G Smith) racing to the outside of KNOT AFRAID had contributed to this incident by racing tightly with that runner and Jockey G Smith was also cautioned for racing tightly with another runner and was advised that he must ensure that he allows sufficient room to runners or further action may be taken against him. RACE 8: SUBIACO FOOTBALL CLUB HANDICAP - 2200M COULEUR BIZARRE Rider reported his mount over-raced in the early and middle stages. CAPPO D'ORO Impeded for a short distance on straightening. ROSEWOOD HILL Held up for clear running until the 200m. AT THE READY When attempting a marginal run at the 150m was bumped and buffeted between runners. SONNEN Rider advised that after commencing from a wide barrier draw his mount was beaten for early speed and as a result raced further back than he was instructed, which was to be on the pace. CULVERIN Kicked the rear of its barrier as the start was effected, losing one length. IMPRESSZAR Raced in restricted room near the 200m and bumped with another runner. MIDNIGHT BANQUET In relation to the performance, rider expressed disappointment. Trainer Mr O Cocking will be contacted by the Stewards in relation to the gelding s performance and future intentions. MY FAIR BEAUTY Held tight and steadied near the 400m. MONTOYAS Raced wide throughout and lay inwards passing the 1000m. A post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Due to the uncompetitive performance Trainer Mr M Wight was advised that the gelding will be restricted to racing at Provincial and Country meetings until it shows an improvement in form. General: Stewards inquired into the reasons for MY FAIR BEAUTY (J Whiting) being held tight and having to steady near the 400m. It was established that CULVERIN (B Paterson) had allowed his mount to shift outwards when insufficiently clear, resulting in the above interference. Subsequently Jockey B Paterson was reprimanded under AR137(a) for careless riding and was advised that when in similar circumstances he is to be fully clear of other runners before shifting ground. When assessing this incident, Stewards noted the evidence tendered by Jockey J Whiting that his mount was under pressure through this section which was a contributing factor. GENERAL Routine specimens were taken from all winners. The following horses were selected for pre-race blood samples to be taken: Race 2. CORPORATE LARRIKIN, TERROR FORCE, TUCKY'S LAD Race 7. RED PUBLISHER, KEY TO FAME, BACK TO A WALK Race 8. FREEDOM BY CHOICE, DUST ME OFF, QUEEN OF TEASE WITHDRAWALS AFTER FINAL ACCEPTANCES Race 4. TENTERDEN Hoof Abscess Race 8.
