Duke (380 wins) and Kansas (379 wins) are the only two programs with 350 or more victories since 2000-01. JACKSON JOINS TIGERS ELITE GROUP In the Jan. 30 win over East Carolina, Joe Jackson went over 1,000 points for his career with a career-high 26 points. In the Feb. 13 victory over UCF, the 6-foot-1 guard dished out a career-best 10 assists, and in doing so, went over 350 dimes for his career. Jackson now has 1,065 points and 357 assists for his career. He is in the No. 39 spot on the Tigers all-time scoring list and No. 10 position on the career assists chart. The Memphis, Tenn., native is the ninth player in Memphis hoops history to have 1,000 points and 350 assists:

Junior Geron Johnson, who is called G by his coaches and teammates, has hit only 27 three-pointers, but some have come at key times for the Tigers and the following details them: Marshall/Feb. 16 (71-59 win) After the Herd cut a 43-26 Tigers halftime lead to 46-41, Johnson hit a trey at the 10:30 mark of the second half to halt the Marshall run. Johnson s three-pointer started a 10-2 spurt that stretched the lead back to double digits. Southern Miss/Feb. 9 (89-76 win) After a Southern Miss 7-0 run late in the first half that cut the Memphis lead from 42-32 to 42-39, Johnson hit a three-pointer to halt the Golden Eagles spurt and help Memphis to a 47-39 halftime lead. After Tennessee scored back-to-back baskets to cut the lead to 69-64, Johnson hit a secondstraight trey from the same spot to push the Memphis advantage back to 72-64. MOST WINS FIRST FOUR YEARS Of course, head coach Josh Pastner will pass on credit to the current players, former players, current assistant coaches, former head coaches and, yes, even Tiger Nation. But, the fact is Pastner is the winningest head coach in Tigers hoops history for the first four years. After the 2011-12 campaign, Pastner had 75 wins, the most victories by a Tigers head coach in his first three years. The following shows the head coaches win totals for their first four seasons since 1949: Head Coach First 3 Years Wins Total Josh Pastner** 2010-13 97 John Calipari 2001-04 93 Larry Finch 1987-90 85 Gene Bartow 1971-74 82 Wayne Yates 1975-78 80 Bob Vanatta 1957-60 74 Dana Kirk 1980-83 73 Eugene Lambert 1952-55 67 Dean Ehlers 1963-66 53 Moe Iba 1967-70 37 **Pastner s fourth season still in progress AND THEN THERE WERE TWO When Josh Pastner hit the 20-win plateau in 2011-12, he became the fourth head coach in Tigers hoops history to post 20-win campaigns in each of his first three years at the helm, joining Wayne Yates (1975-77), Larry Finch (1987-89) and John Calipari (2001-03) in that group. Well, that list is now trimmed to only two head coaches to have 20-win seasons in each of his first four years, and Pastner became one of those two after the Tigers 89-76 victory at Southern Miss Feb. 9. Pastner and Calipari are the only two head coaches in Memphis basketball history to record 20 wins in each of his first four seasons: Head Coach/1st 4 Years Records Josh Pastner/2010-13 24-10, 25-10, 26-9, 22-3 John Calipari/2001-04 21-15, 27-9, 23-7, 22-8 TIGERS PART OF 20-PLUS, 3-FEWER GROUP With its 89-76 victory over Southern Miss Feb. 9, Memphis improved its record to 20-3. The Tigers are one of 33 teams in the nation with at least 20 victories. Memphis is also one of eight teams in the country to have three or fewer losses. If the two lists are combined, the Tigers are one of eight squads in the nation to have 20 or more wins and three or fewer losses (as of Feb. 18). ANOTHER 20 IN THE BOOKS With its 89-76 victory over Southern Miss Feb. 9, Memphis recorded another 20-win season. The Tigers current overall record is 22-3. This year s 20-win season is the Tigers schoolrecord, 13th-consecutive, 20-win campaign. Pastner posted a record of 75-29 at Memphis in his first three seasons, the most victories by a Tigers head coach in that span of time. Last year, Pastner guided Memphis to a 26-9 overall record and a 13-3 Conference USA mark. The Tigers swept the C-USA regular season and tournament titles and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. In each of his three seasons, Pastner has led the Tigers to a 20-win campaign and a postseason berth (2010 NIT; 2011, 2012 NCAA) Pastner served as an assistant coach for the Tigers in the 2008-09 season. Prior to joining the Memphis basketball family, Pastner spent 12 years of his college basketball life at Arizona as a player, staff member and assistant coach. While in Tucson, Pastner was a member of Wildcats squads that made 12-straight NCAA Tournament appearances and posted a 290-103 record (1997-2008). Pastner was a player on the 1996-97 Arizona team that won the NCAA title. Game #26 Memphis vs. Houston Page 6 MEMPHIS IN CONFERENCE USA The Tigers have an all-time record of 210-65 (.764 winning percentage) in C-USA play. Memphis has posted double-digit league wins in 15 of its 18 seasons in Conference USA, including a school-record and league-record tying 16 games in 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09. Last season, the Tigers won the C-USA regularseason title with a 13-3 league mark. Memphis won its first outright C-USA regular season title in 2005-06, and followed that with outright regular season crowns in 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2011-12. Memphis also tied for the C-USA regular season crown in 2003-04 (12-4 record) and 1995-96 (11-3). Memphis also won three National Division titles in 1997-98, 2001-02 and 2002-03, and captured two league White Division championships in 1995-96 and 1996-97. TIGERS TOUGH AT HOME IN C-USA Since moving to FedExForum in 2004-05, Memphis has turned its homecourt into one of toughest arenas for opponents to play, and that is seen in the Tigers 159-18 overall record. But, it is even tougher for Conference USA foes since conference realignment in 2005-06. Memphis has an incredible 72-3 record (.960 winning percentage) at FedExForum versus C- USA opponents (regular season and conference tournament) since 2005-06. The following shows the nation s top-10 conference homecourt records since 2005-06 (regular season and conference tournament; credit to Bryan McEldowney for compiling this list and Travis Chell for its updates this season): Best Homecourt Records In Conference Play Only (Reg. It is also Memphis eighth-consecutive season in which it had double-figure victories in C-USA action. Before the shift in C-USA prior to the 2005-06 campaign, the Tigers were tied for the secondmost, double-digit conference wins seasons with seven (at the time tied with Charlotte). It looks as if that s been corrected this season. Memphis is out-rebounding its opponents by an average margin of +5.6 boards per game (37.6-32.0), which is second in Conference USA. In C-USA games only (11 contests), the Tigers rebound margin is +7.5 boards per game (39.5-32.0), which is leads the league. IT S A BLOCK PARTY After leading C-USA in blocks a year ago (5.6 bpg), Memphis began 2012-13 averaging only 3.9 blocks in the first seven games (27 total blocks). Well, the Tigers have picked up their intensity on the defensive end in the last 18 games with 136 total blocks (7.6 bpg). In each of the last 18 games, Memphis had no fewer than four blocks.
