I am very proud to announce that our men s basketball coach Josh Pastner has made a $250,000 donation to our capital campaign, said Athletics Director Tom Bowen. Josh s gift is the largest ever made by a coach and will be used for sport enhancements and improvements. We are making great strides in building a culture of champions at the University of. As part of our strategic plan, we are working to enhance programs and facilities for all our studentathletes and sports. Pastner s gift of $250,000 will become part of the $40 million athletics capital campaign. Earlier this month, University officials announced that former Tigers basketball player Bill Laurie and his wife, Nancy, had given the athletics department a $10 million lead gift, the largest donation in the history of Tigers athletics. Dr. Barry Phillips of Campbell Clinic performed the surgery. Their $10 million contribution to the capital campaign for athletics facilities is the single-largest philanthropic gift in the history of the athletics department, and the second-largest gift ever in the 100-year history of the university.
