SOUTHEND DIVING NEWSLETTER May 2017 No.8 It has been a busy month for competitions with all dive squads in action. First to compete were the Elite Squad at the Life Centre in Plymouth, along with 5 divers from the National Age Group Squad competing in their first British Junior Elite Competition. Next to compete were divers from the Skills groups and also some TID divers who were having their first experience of competition. This was the Shipley Novices at Bradford Esprit. The last competition saw the Age Group Squad competing in the ASA East Region Age Groups at the home pool, Garon Park. Credit goes to all the divers who have done them- WANTED Southend Diving urgently need someone to take on the role of Kit Manager for the Club. You would be required to collate all the kit orders and deal with KUKRI on the Club s behalf. If you think you would like to take on this position or if you have a friend that could share the job with you, please contact Louise Lano, any of the Committee, or inform your child s coach. SOUTHEND DIVING A.G.M. The Annual General Meeting for the Diving Club will be held in July (date to be confirmed). If you feel that you would like to be on this committee and have a say in how the Club is run, please inform any member of the Committee or Coaching staff of your wish. It doesn't take up a lot of time, gets you involved and gives you a voice. Without a Committee the Club cannot work, so please give it a thought and get involved! CHAIRMAN: Bob Swift SECRETARY: Bill Clark TREASURER: Dale Spiby CHIEF COACH: Shan Veasey COMMITTEE: Carmel Hudson, Louise Lano, John McCrae Get well wishes go to Ewan Russell. Ewan was injured in the dry gym in March, but is now on the road to recovery. We look forward to seeing him back at the pool and hope it will not be too long before he is back training. NEWSLETTER The next edition of the newsletter will not be until July as I am taking a holiday in June. If anybody has any news, reports, adverts, items of kit that they wish to sell or anything that you feel could be added to the newsletter, please let Louise Lano know and she will forward them on.
