Keenan s partner was Omar Arnett. Dave DuPont and Chad Bucholtz were second, David Rountree and Rick Minier were third, Bob Freehauf finished fourth and John Martin and Jim Stephens were fifth. Thanks to Ken Cobb and his staff for providing a great, clean bowling center for us. Our next event is our masters tournament at Fiesta Lanes in New Braunfels. This is slated to be an all match-play event. We need 56 bowlers in the Super Senior and Senior divisions to make the rotation work with out a bunch of byes. The SS will bowl at 8:45AM Saturday and the Seniors will bowl at 2PM. Jamie s Tournament Notes Mike Monticue and Dave Hoff both rolled 140 to tie for the dog of the week award for low game of the tournament. Mike Monticue and Fred Barnes both left the lily. Stan Workman and Dave Hoff both had a CP. Stan s ball hit a high plastic and bounced to the right in to the gutter. Chris Morgan and Maury Newman both had 300 games. Danny Inocencio had a bunch of RB s, even an extreme one. Everyone will bowl four more games Sunday. In the finals, each division will be reduced to the top eight then mixed for the last four matches. We might get to see our host Ernie Beltz, see ya there!!!!!!! Fuffy put on a Sultan of Slop exhibition during the qualifying. He got strikes everywhere making the other Sultans look like amateurs. Even John Sands in hey day could not match that Sloppiness.

SASBA RED HAT NOTES Ladies, we have two events to look forward to - Lunch with Bettie Sands on October 21 at Roses and Lace Tea Room in Shreveport and Tea and a Shopping Spree with Alene Hensley at Bawdsley Manor Tea Room in San Antonio on November 11. Our event in October will be a real Southern affair complete with chicken salad, iced tea, and lots of girl talk. The cost is $11 and you can pay at the tea room. We will meet at the bowling center at 10:45 a.m. and depart from there in caravan. Our reservation at the tea room is for 11:30 a.m. We will need an RSVP so we can set a place for you no later than Monday, October 16. My reservation line is open and the first lady to RSVP will win the Ladybug Award. The weather should be cooler so we can all dress up in our Red Hat Luncheon Best. Make your plans to be there and send your RSVP as soon as possible. I was privileged to preview our Tea and Shopping Spree with Alene this past weekend in San Antonio. This was my first visit to a truly British tea room and I loved it! Bawdsley Manor is veddy, veddy British from the cucumber and egg salad sandwiches to the melt-in-your-mouth scones with cream and preserve. Alene has reserved the conservatory for our event. The atmosphere just begs you to dress up in your best hat, boa and gloves. And if the food is not enough to get your attention, the shopping will. The tea room is surrounded by a small village of shops purveying all manner of interesting things. This will be a good opportunity to pick up some unusual Christmas gifts. If the weather is nice (and we hope it will be) you can walk off your lunch calories. It is easy to get from shop to shop by car if the weather doesn t cooperate, or you are just too full to walk! This is a very popular destination so Alene has had to guarantee reservations in advance. Please be sure to mark your calendar for November 11, tell your hubby to sign up to bowl at Wonder Bowl, and plan to spend a wonderful afternoon at Bawdsley Manor. Check the next newsletter and your email for further details. I think my rain dance is working -we had rain last night! Red Hatters Keep Busy Having Fun!
